Abstract

A ski brake bracket (11) has fitted along the ski edges and covered by a baseplate (24). Each bracket carries a side piece (18) in the form of a lever with a central pivot (16). These side pieces are joined across the top by a cross-piece (20) forming a pad held down by the foot against the action of two leaf springs (33, 34). If foot pressure is removed, the levers pivot so that their lower portions protrude below the ski as a brake. To hold the brake closed during transportation, a wedge (39) is inserted in the baseplate.
