Abstract

A security ring for a screw cap of a bottle is attached to the screw cap by means of a thin circular rib (3) which will fail in tension when the screw cap is removed. The inside of the ring has a number of flexible teeth (4) which engage the conical section of the bottle neck. When the screw cap is removed the teeth (4) wedge up against or under the bottle neck and the thin rib (3) fails. The screw cap may then be removed from the bottle.
