Abstract

924,892. Crown cork liners. PERMUTA CLOSURES Ltd. Aug. 17, 1959 [May 15, 1958], No. 15658/58. Class 125(3). A crown cork liner 2 of a resilient synthetic resin material comprises an annular projection 1 to fit into the neck of a bottle and a chamfered peripheral edge 5 which flexes when the liner is placed within a crown cork and so wedges the liner therein. An annular raised part 3 of hollow wall construction seals against the bottle top. Instead of being chamfered the peripheral edge may be flat but of reduced thickness and may have notches cut therein to render it more flexible.
