Abstract

Calls arranged in groups according to precedence in a call store are scanned cyclically and a logic control circuit determineds whether the highest priority call of the highest priority group has higher precedence than the currently executed microprogramme in the processor. A store stores the address of the microinstruction of an interrupted microprogramme and the result of the operations carried out by the arithmetic unit during execution of this instruction. A restoring unit restores the contents of the store when the interrupted programme is resumed, and a dialogue control unit carries out a dialogue with the processor during the storage and restoring operations.
