Abstract

An extension (15) of the cashing has a hole (16) which fits over a shaft (17) fixed at either end in supports (18, 19). A locking screw (23) engages in a slot (22) in the shaft. A compression spring (21) fits over the shaft. The saw blade can thus be pushed against the spring to move the blade towards the front of the foot-plate (13), so cutting completely into corners, etc. The screw retaining the front slide support (18) is mounted in a circular arc slot, so that the slide and casing canbe pivoted to either side to permit offset cuts. The angle between the blade and the foot-plate can be adjusted using a screw (39), and a locking device (41, 42) enables the casing and blade to be tilted to either side.
