Abstract
The turbine wheel (13A) of a hydraulic coupling conforms to the following ratios: < IMAGE > wherein (De) and (Di) are the external and internal diameters of the hydraulic circuit, (L) the width of the latter, (R1) the radius of curvature of the peripheral part of the toric wall, and (D1) the diameter of the circumference upon which the corresponding centre of curvature is located. This provides a specified power factor/slip characteristic. Other, preferred ratios are also specified. The impeller may conform to the same or slightly different ratios according to whether it is of one-piece or fabricated construction.
