Abstract
Un método para la reducción gaseosa en cargas de un óxido de metal a un metal en un sistema reactor de unidades múltiples, del tipo en el que se tratan simultáneamente cuerpos separados de material que contiene metal, en una pluralidad de reactores intercambiables incluyendo un reactor de enfriamiento y una serie de reactores de reducción, dicho sistema es del tipo en el que un gas reductor preformado, compuesto en gran parte de monóxido de carbono e hidrógeno de una fuente de dicho gas, se hace pasar sucesivamente a través de los cuerpos de material que contiene metal en los reactores de reducción de dicha serie, dicho gas reductor se calienta antes de entrar en cada reactor de cada serie y se enfría y deshidrata después de salir de cada reactor de cada serie, caracterizado porque se recicla una parte del gas que fluye del último reactor de reducción de la serie y se mezcla con el gas de reducción que entra en el primero, agregándose gas de hidrocarbono al gas de reducción que penetra en dicho primer reactor de reducción.
