Abstract

Method of preparing N- (1-substituted-3-pyrrolidinyl) benzamides having the following structural formula: **(See formula)** where R is cycloalkyl phenyl and phenyl-lower alcohol, R1 is hydrogen, lower alcohol of 1 to 8 carbon atoms and phenyl, R2 is halogen, lower alcohol, lower alkoxy, amino, nitro, monoalkoxylamino, dialcoylamino, mercaptomethyl, acetamido, sulfamoyl, cyano, hydroxyl, benzyloxy and trifluoromethyl, n is an integer from zero to three inclusive, as well as its optical isomers and its pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts, characterized in that 3-amino pyrrolidine is mixed and reacted substituted of the formula: **(See formula)** wherein R and R1 are as defined above, with a substituted benzoyl chloride of the formula: **(See formula)** wherein R2 and n are as defined above, provided that R2 is not primary amino or acetamido, to obtain the compound of formula I above.
