Abstract
Un reactor tubular vertical para convertir el gas de la purga en bucle en la síntesis del amoníaco a amoníaco; un procedimiento para convertir el gas de la purga en bucle en la síntesis del amoníaco para formar amoníaco adicional; y un procedimiento para retroajustar una planta de amoníaco convencional que tiene un bucle en síntesis usando un catalizador de síntesis basado en hierro y que tiene una corriente de gas de purga, el procedimiento incluye un convertidor de amoníaco suplementario para la corriente de gas de purga. El convertidor de amoníaco suplementario es un reactor acorazado y de tubo. Los tubos se llenan con un catalizador que consta de un metal del grupo del platino tal como rutenio. Los tubos se mantienen en una condición sustancialmente isotérmica con agua hirviendo en el lado de la coraza. Como una modificación del retroajuste a una planta de síntesis existente, la corriente de purga pasa a través del convertidor de amoníaco suplementario en una base de paso para formar amoníaco adicional y reducir la cantidad de gas de purga.
