LA INVENCION SE REFIERE A UN PROCEDIMIENTO Y UN DISPOSITIVO PARA LA FUSION DE CHATARRA EN UN HORNO DE POZO CERRADO ACCIONADO CON CORRIENTE DIRECTA. LA CHATARRA SE ALIMENTA EN LA ZONA ANULAR EN UN EXTREMO DEL HORNO, LOS GASES CALIENTES QUE FLUYEN CONTRA LA CHATARRA QUE CAE SON SECCIONADOS POR DEBAJO DE LA ZONA DE ALIMENTACION DE CHATARRA POR MEDIO DE LA PARED EXTERIOR CILINDRICA DE LA COLUMNA DE CHATARRA, Y LA SUPERFICIE LIBRE INTERIOR DE LA SECCION TRANSVERSAL PLANA PERFILADA ANULARMENTE SE REDUCE ANTES DE QUE LA CHATARRA ALCANCE LA ZONA DE FUSION. EN LA ZONA DE FUSION SE EXPONE LA CHATARRA AL ARCO ELECTRICO EN EL CENTRO DE LA SECCION TRANSVERSAL PLANA. EL HORNO DE ARCO ESTA DISEÑADO DE TAL MODO QUE EL CATODO (21) SE SUJETA POR MEDIO DEL DISPOSITIVO (30) SOPORTE DE ELECTRODO DISEÑADO COMO UN TUBO (31) CONCENTRICO CON RESPECTO AL EJE (I) CENTRAL DEL RECIPIENTE. EN ESTE EXTREMO CABEZAL EL TUBO (31) SE REDUCE DE FORMA CONICA (34) Y EN SU EXTREMO DEL FONDO ESTA SOPORTADO SOBRE EL POZO (11) MEDIANTE BRAZOS SOPORTE.
