Definitions
- the invention relates to a skirting board for laying floor covering skirting strips as a wall finish.
- skirting boards are laid as wall finishes.
- a strip of the relevant floor covering is linked or hemmed at the upper edge with a linking machine. This ensures that the strip cannot fray at its top edge.
- a visually sophisticated finish to the floor covering work is achieved.
- the floor covering skirting strip protects the adjacent wall areas from stress, for example during cleaning work or the like.
- DE 37 06 412 C2 discloses a carpet skirting board for fastening in the area of a wall adjoining a floor, in particular a floor covered with a carpet, consisting of a strip-shaped piece of carpet with a pile or pile layer, a carpet base supporting this and a back facing away from the pile or pile layer, on which an adhesive layer is arranged on the back, wherein at least one longitudinal edge of the piece of carpet has a looped loop formed from threads. In the area of the looping, a loop-adhesive layer is arranged under the incorporation of the thread loops. The adhesive layer thus extends over the entire back of the carpet skirting board, i.e. including the chaining.
- a disadvantage of the known baseboards is that they cannot be produced when laying carpet tiles or carpet modules, since there are no correspondingly long strips of the carpet in question available.
- Carpet tiles are mostly provided with a bitumen layer on the back so that they cannot be linked. Furthermore, a skirting board made up of sections approximately 0.5 to 1.0 m long is unprofitable and does not guarantee a continuous wall finish across the entire width of the room.
- WO 00/63511 A1 discloses a carpet edge finish having a fabric cuff running longitudinally along the carpet edge to finish a carpet edge.
- the fabric cuff is attached to the front of a strip-shaped bottom body with a Velcro fastener.
- US 2005/0034803 A1 and US 2010/0035056 A1 each disclose edging tapes for carpets.
- a partial area of a flexible band is wrapped around an insert and fixed in such a way that it protrudes upwards over the flexible band.
- the height of the insert corresponds to a height of the carpet to be laid.
- the invention is based on the object of specifying a skirting board for laying floor covering skirting strips as a wall finish and a method for producing a skirting board with which wall finishes that are mechanically stable and visually appealing can be obtained in a simple and reliable manner.
- this object is achieved by a baseboard with the features mentioned in claim 1.
- the skirting board has a strip-shaped base body that can be arranged parallel to the wall, which has a keder profile on its upper side facing away from the floor, that keder profile is provided with a covering that matches the floor covering material, and the base body has a receiving area on its front side between the keder profile and the floor has strip-shaped floor covering elements, it is advantageously possible to provide a continuous skirting board even when laying carpet tiles or carpet floor modules, which is easy to install and offers the external appearance of continuous carpet skirting boards.
- strip-shaped floor covering elements can then be introduced in sections, which offer a uniform appearance despite their denomination over the length. The joints between the individual elements are not visible when laid correctly.
- the piping profile is formed in one piece with the base body.
- the skirting board can be produced in a simple manner. Due to the one-piece construction between the piping profile and the base body, a sufficiently high mechanical strength of the skirting board is also achieved.
- the keder profile protrudes in cross section over the base body.
- a voluminous bulge is created running along the wall, which corresponds to the appearance of a typical carpet wall finish known per se.
- the keder profile has a round or oval cross section. This advantageously means that when this round or oval piping profile is sheathed, the sheathing of a carpet strip can be simulated with its volume of pile application available.
- the piping profile and the base body are made of plastic.
- the skirting board can also be transported in a simple manner, for example as a roll, and thus takes up little storage space.
- the base body and/or the piping profile may consist of other materials, for example natural materials such as wool felt or the like.
- the sheathing is a loop.
- the skirting board is designed in such a way that the keder profile can be linked using known linking machines. As a result, when the skirting board is being manufactured, there is no longer any discernible difference to a skirting board cut from sheet material and bound around.
- the piping profile may have a different covering, for example by means of an edging strip or the like.
- the base body is provided with a self-adhesive coating on one or both sides.
- a self-adhesive coating on one or both sides.
- the object is also achieved according to the invention by a method for producing a skirting board with the features mentioned in claim 8 .
- a method for producing a skirting board with the features mentioned in claim 8 .
- figure 1 shows a base body 10 of a skirting board denoted overall by 12 .
- the base body 10 has a molded piping profile 16 on its upper side 14.
- the piping profile 16 is round in cross section on a front side 18 .
- the piping profile 16 can be circular or oval, for example.
- the base body 10 consists of a plastic material and can be obtained, for example, by means of appropriate drawing processes.
- the base body 10 is designed as a strip-shaped profile and can be provided in defined lengths of, for example, 10, 20 or 50 m.
- the base body 10 is flexible and can be rolled up, for example.
- FIG 2 shows the base body 10 with a sheathing 20 around the piping profile 16.
- the sheathing 20 can be, for example, a loop or an enclosing band.
- the looping is achieved, for example, in a manner known per se by means of a known linking machine with the aid of a sewing thread, a linking yarn and an optional filler tape.
- FIG figure 3 shows the base body 10 with a self-adhesive coating 22 arranged on its front side 18 and a self-adhesive coating 26 arranged on its rear side 24.
- the self-adhesive coating 26 here projects further down on the base body 10 (as shown in FIG figure 3 ) as the self-adhesive coating 22.
- the self-adhesive coatings 22, 26 are formed, for example, by double-sided adhesive tapes, the outward-facing adhesive layer of which is covered by a removable protective film in the unmounted state.
- figure 4 shows the intended use of the baseboard 12. Shown is the corner area between a floor 28 and a wall area 30. It is clear that the baseboard 12 is connected to the wall 30 via the self-adhesive coating 26, that is to say it is fixed to it.
- the base body 10 stands on the floor 28 with its underside 32 .
- a floor covering 34 which can consist of individual carpet tiles, for example, is then laid on the floor 28 in a manner known per se. In this case, the floor covering 34 abuts against the base body 10 . The distance between the self-adhesive coating 22 and the floor 28 is so great that the floor covering 34 can abut the base body 10 below the coating 22 .
- a strip-shaped floor covering element 36 is then glued onto the coating 22 .
- the baseboard 12 thus forms a receiving area 38 for the floor covering elements 36 .
- the floor covering elements 36 have a length of, for example, 0.5 or 1 m, depending on the carpet floor tiles that have been laid.
- the result is a continuous strip of floor covering as a wall finish for the observer.
- the sheathing 20 is not just limited to a loop.
- Other types of carpet edging made from known materials, such as woven or cut strips made from natural materials (leather, cotton or the like) or plastics (microfiber, artificial leather or the like) are also suitable as the sheathing 20 of the piping profile 16 of the skirting board 10.

Description
WO 00/63511 A1 -
US 2005/0034803 A1 undUS 2010/0035056 A1 offenbaren jeweils Einfassbänder für Teppiche.
- Figur 1
- eine schematische Seitenansicht eines Grundkörpers der erfindungsgemäßen Sockelleiste;
- Figur 2
- eine schematische Seitenansicht des Grundkörpers mit Umkettelung;
- Figur 3
