Definitions
- the invention relates to a high-pressure pump, having a pump housing on which a pump cylinder head having a pump cylinder is arranged, with a pump tappet being arranged in a pump cylinder guide of the pump cylinder, which interacts with a pump working chamber that can be filled with fluid, with the pump working chamber being able to be filled with fluid via an electromagnetically actuatable suction valve and the high pressure pump includes a fluid damper.
- Such a high-pressure pump is from DE 10 2010 063 589 A1 known.
- This high pressure pump is part of a fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine.
- This high-pressure pump has a pump housing on which a pump cylinder head having a pump cylinder is arranged, which forms the pump housing, a pump tappet for pumping the fuel being arranged in a pump cylinder guide of the pump cylinder.
- a pump working chamber is arranged adjacent to the pump cylinder guide, to which fuel can be supplied via an electromagnetically actuable suction valve.
- the high-pressure pump has a fluid damper which is arranged in a damper chamber of the pump cylinder head.
- the high-pressure pump also has an engine, which is arranged in an engine room, in which oil is present for lubrication. There is an oil seal between the pump tappet and the engine compartment to prevent the oil from mixing with the fuel delivered by the high-pressure pump. Fuel is supplied to the damper chamber via an inlet connection on the pump cylinder head supplied and fed from this via the electromagnetically actuated suction valve to the pump working chamber. Because of the different media, oil in the machine room and fuel in the pump working room, the pump working room must not have any connection with the machine room. In the case of the known high-pressure pump, therefore, only pressure fluctuations and pulsations in the inlet to the suction valve can be reduced.
- the object of the invention is to provide a high-pressure pump in which the fluid damper is advantageously integrated in the pump housing and pressure fluctuations and pulsations occurring in the engine compartment are also damped.
- the damper chamber is thus arranged in a space-saving manner next to the inlet connection and the fluid damper reduces pressure fluctuations and pulsations in the drive mechanism chamber, through which the inlet to the pump working chamber runs.
- the fluid damper is a membrane.
- This membrane is ring-shaped or cylindrical and has two opposing annular end faces which enclose an inner membrane chamber and can be moved in relation to one another.
- Such a membrane is known in principle and can be made of a metallic material, for example.
- the diaphragm chamber is thus formed between the two opposite end faces and is filled with a gas, for example.
- the membrane is acted upon on both sides by the fluid pressure prevailing in the damper chamber.
- This enables the membrane to work ideally, in that the pressure curves on both sides of the membrane are synchronous.
- the end faces are pressurized in the longitudinal direction or parallel to the end faces. This has a positive effect on the function and durability of the membrane.
- At least two membranes are arranged in the damper chamber.
- This configuration can be easily implemented by the damper chamber let into the pump housing, the arrangement being aligned in relation to the inlet connection—as explained—that the membrane is arranged longitudinally to the direction of pulsation propagation and not transversely to it, as was previously the case. This reduces the stress acting on the membrane. As a result, the service life of the membrane installed in this way is increased, as a result of which the service life of the high-pressure pump or a maintenance interval for the high-pressure pump is increased or lengthened.
- the damper chamber is arranged between the engine chamber and a tappet chamber connection or the tappet chamber below the pump cylinder head. This dampens the two main sources of pulsation, which are triggered by the high-pressure pump.
- the at least one membrane can be inserted into a membrane holder which can be installed in the damper chamber.
- a membrane holder which can be installed in the damper chamber.
- the damper chamber has an assembly opening that can be covered by a chamber cover.
- This assembly opening is arranged on the high-pressure pump in such a way that it can also be reached when the high-pressure pump is fully equipped with add-on parts. This means that the damper chamber can be reached without dismantling the high-pressure pump.
- the chamber cover can, for example, be screwed to the pump housing by inserting a sealing ring.
- the drive mechanism chamber and the damper chamber are both connected via connecting channels to a tappet chamber below the pump cylinder head.
- This configuration can be implemented in a favorable manner in terms of design and production technology and also offers the advantage that the direct connection of the components to one another results in advantages with regard to the damping of pressure fluctuations or pressure pulsations of the fluid to be conveyed.
- the high-pressure pump designed as a high-pressure fuel pump is part of a fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine, the fuel injection system being designed as a common rail fuel injection system, for example, and being designed for injecting fuel, for example diesel fuel or gasoline, into a combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine.
- figure 1 shows a perspective view of a high-pressure pump, which is designed as a high-pressure fuel pump 1 of a fuel injection system.
- the fuel injection system is installed on an internal combustion engine and the high-pressure fuel pump delivers fuel from a low-pressure fuel system at a delivery pressure of up to 3,000 bar, for example, into a high-pressure accumulator connected to the high-pressure fuel pump 1 via a high-pressure line, from which the fuel stored there is taken from fuel injectors for controlled injection into the assigned Combustion chambers of the internal combustion engine is removed.
- the fuel is diesel fuel, for example, and the internal combustion engine is a self-igniting internal combustion engine.
- the high-pressure fuel pump has a pump housing 2 on which a pump cylinder 3 (see also figure 2 ) Having pump cylinder head 4 is mounted.
- the pump cylinder head 4 has a high-pressure connection 5 for connection to the high-pressure line.
- an electrically operated suction valve 6 is installed in the pump cylinder head 4, to which reference is made to FIG figure 2 will be dealt with below.
- the suction valve 6 has a connector plug 7 for the electrical connection to an electronic control device.
- the pump housing 2 In the pump housing 2 is on off figure 2 visible engine room 8 embedded in which a camshaft 10 having a double cam 9 is rotatably mounted.
- the engine chamber 8 is closed off from the environment by a pump housing cover 11, through which a drive cone 12 of the camshaft 10 protrudes.
- a drive gear On the drive cone 12, for example, a drive gear is mounted in a rotationally fixed manner, which is set in rotation by a drive shaft, for example, of the internal combustion engine during operation of the same.
- the pump housing 2 also has an inlet connection 13 and a return connection 14 .
- the inlet connection 13 is connected to the low-pressure fuel system via a pressure-resistant inlet hose, for example, while the return connection 14 is connected to a fuel tank, for example, via a return hose.
- the chamber cover 15 closes a mounting opening 18 of a damper chamber 19, which is also explained below.
- FIG figure 2 shows a longitudinal section through the high-pressure fuel pump 1 according to FIG figure 1 , It being evident from this representation that the pump cylinder 3 of the pump cylinder head 4 protrudes into a plunger chamber 20 in the pump housing 2 .
- a roller tappet 21 is inserted in the cylindrical tappet chamber 20, which rolls with a roller 22 on the double cam 9 of the camshaft 10 arranged in the engine compartment 8 during a rotary movement of the camshaft 10 and thus the roller tappet 21 in the Plunger space 20 moves translationally up and down.
- a tappet spring 23 is arranged in the tappet chamber 20, which is clamped between the pump cylinder head 4 and a retaining disk 24, which is arranged inside the roller tappet 21 .
- the retaining disk 24 rests on an inner ring contact surface 25 of the roller tappet 21 and at the same time holds a pump tappet 26, which can be moved translationally in a pump cylinder guide 27 embedded in the pump cylinder 3, with a pump tappet foot 28 against a roller holder 29 of the roller tappet 21.
- the inlet connection 13 (see also figure 3 ) is via an inlet channel 30 (see also figure 5 ) connected to engine room 8.
- the engine chamber 8 is in turn connected to the damper chamber 19 and both are connected to the tappet chamber 20 below the pump cylinder head 4 via connecting channels 31a, 31b.
- the connecting channel 31a has an extension 32 ( figure 2 ) which ends in a contact surface 33 of the pump housing 2 for contacting the pump cylinder head 4 .
- the extension 32 continues in a supply channel 34 which is let into the pump cylinder head 4 and is in communication with the electromagnetically actuated suction valve 6 .
- the electromagnetically actuated suction valve 6 has an inlet valve 35 actuated by it, which in the open state connects the supply channel 34 to a pump work chamber 36, which is arranged as an extension of the pump cylinder guide 27 above the pump tappet 26 in the pump cylinder head 4. Consequently, when the inlet valve 35 is open, fuel supplied via the inlet connection 13 is introduced into the pump working chamber 36 when the pump tappet 26 moves downwards and is pushed back into the low-pressure fuel system during a subsequent upward movement of the pump tappet 26 along the same path with the inlet valve 35 open.
- a return channel 43 is also shown, which is connected to the return connection 14 and, for example, through the pump housing 2 and the pump housing cover 11 arranged bearing for supporting the camshaft 10 for cooling and lubrication recirculates fuel passed back into the low-pressure system or the tank.
- the fluid damping device is installed in the damper chamber 19, with reference to the figures 2 , 3 and 4 is explained below.
- the fluid damping device has two membranes 38a, 38b, which are inserted into a membrane holder 40, preferably designed as a stamped and bent part, with the insertion of a membrane spring 39, which is made, for example, of spring steel.
- the membrane holder 40 pre-assembled in this way is evident from the figure 4 introduced into the damper chamber 19 via the assembly opening 18 and then the chamber cover 15 is screwed to the pump housing 2 by means of the screws 17 with the insertion of the sealing ring 16 .
- the membranes 38a, 38b are ring-shaped or cylindrical and have an inner membrane chamber 41 which is filled with a medium, for example with a compressible gas. If a force acts on the two opposite annular end faces 42 of the two membranes 38a, 38b, the two end faces 42 are deformed inwards into the membrane chamber 41. This effect is used to dampen the pressure fluctuations or pressure pulsations prevailing in the high-pressure fuel pump 1 .
