Definitions

  • the invention relates to a container closure having a chamber for storing a second medium stored in a container before use, separate from a first medium stored in a container, typically a liquid.
  • Container closures of the aforementioned type are known in the art. Such container closures serve to seal a container, for example a beverage bottle or a bottle for food supplements or medicaments, and to store in the chamber a second medium, for example a liquid, a granulate or a powder, so that these two media are initially stored separately and only shortly before use, for example, when a user wants to take the medicine or consume the dietary supplement or drink, are mixed together.
  • the first medium is a liquid.
  • the first medium is a solid, for example a granulate or a powder.
  • the container closure may serve to admix a solid to another solid, admix a solid to a liquid, admix a liquid to another liquid, or add a liquid to a solid immediately prior to use, for example, prior to consumption.
  • the container closure is configured such that the container closure has a first closure part and a second closure part, the first closure part being connectable to the container, and the second closure part being relative to the first closure part from a closed position, in which an outlet opening of the chamber is closed, in an outlet position, in which the outlet opening is opened, can be transferred, wherein in the outlet position at the first closure part connected to the container, the second medium is discharged through the opened outlet opening into the container containing the first medium.
  • Such a container closure is from the DE 10 2014 113 391 A1 known.
  • the container closure has a chamber for storing a second medium to be stored separately from a first medium stored in a container before use, the container closure having a first closure part and a second closure part.
  • the first closure part has a cap portion, wherein the first closure part in the region of the cap portion is connectable to the container.
  • One of the closure parts, in this case the second closure part has a circumferential jacket section, the chamber being formed by the jacket section.
  • the chamber has an outlet opening for dispensing the second medium into the container, wherein the second closure part is movable relative to the first closure part from a closed position to an outlet position for dispensing the second medium into the container, wherein in the closed position a sealing portion sealing the outlet opening closes.
  • the filling of the chamber can be carried out only in a state in which the two closure parts are separated from each other.
  • the chamber is filled with the second medium via the outlet opening, wherein following the filling of the chamber, the outlet opening is closed by means of a separate sealing section, which is typically designed as a membrane or foil.
  • the closure part having the chamber is connected to the other closure part, the other closure part having an opening means which acts on the sealing means when the closure parts are transferred from the closed position into the outlet position.
  • the opening means is formed as a mandrel, wherein the mandrel during the transfer of the closure parts from the closed position into the outlet position, the cut formed as a film or membrane sealing portion cuts.
  • the application of a film or a membrane to form a sealing portion is associated with a high workload and thus high cost.
  • the film for example, by the action of the opening means, unintentionally damaged or even an opening in the membrane or film is created.
  • the membrane or the film and the closure parts consist of different materials, for example the film consists at least partially of aluminum and the closure parts are made of plastic. Due to the use of different materials as simple and good recycling, in particular recycling of the container closure is associated with great effort, since the different materials would first have to be separated from each other for the best possible utilization. Therefore, such a container closure is a product that can be recycled as waste only with great effort.
  • container closures of the aforementioned type either not at all possible to fill the chamber when the container closure is connected to the container, or there is at least the risk that when filling the chamber, the second medium in already connected to the container container closure in enters the container interior.
  • the container closure according to the invention has a chamber for storing a second medium to be stored separately from a first medium stored in a container before use.
  • the container closure has a first closure part and a second closure part, wherein the first closure part has a cap portion, wherein the first closure part in the region of this cap portion is connectable to the container.
  • One of the closure parts, namely the second closure part has a circumferential jacket section, the chamber being formed by the jacket section, the chamber having an outlet opening for dispensing the second medium.
  • the second closure part is movable relative to the first closure part from a closed position to an outlet position for dispensing the second medium into the container, wherein in the closed position, a sealing portion sealingly closes the outlet opening.
  • a closable filling opening opening into the chamber is formed for filling the chamber in the closed position of the closure parts.
  • the two closure parts can thus be preassembled and possibly already delivered to the bottler of the second medium in a state connected to the container containing the first medium. After filling the second medium then only the filling opening must be closed. A connection of the two closure parts together after filling the chamber is thus eliminated, whereby the handling of the container closure after filling the chamber is much easier.
  • the container closure can optionally be supplied conventionally with already filled chamber and closed, for example by means of a conventional screwdriver.
  • the container closure can thus with different uses or procedures Find application.
  • the chamber of the container closure located in the closed position can first be filled with the second medium and closed. Subsequently, the container is filled with the first medium and then sealed with the container closure, for example, the container closure is conventionally screwed onto the container.
  • the filling of the chamber and the closure of the container with the container closure can take place at different production facilities, since the filled container closure can be safely handled and transported, for example, as bulk material and fed to the plant for closing the container. Accordingly, a predetermined combination of two media, for example a beverage in the container, with a food supplement to be added, which is stored in the chamber, can be distributed to the end customer.
  • only the chamber of the container closure can be filled and closed and the filled container closure can be sold as such to the end customer.
  • the end customer can then independently connect the container closure with a container, for example a beverage bottle, and, if necessary, supply the second medium stored in the chamber to the first medium stored in the container.
  • the filling opening opens into the chamber on an opposite side of the chamber from the outlet opening.
  • the outlet opening is formed in particular on a side of the container closure facing the container and / or the filling opening on a side of the container closure which faces away from the container.
  • the closing of the filling opening takes place by means of a separate closure cap.
  • closure cap is permanently connected to the second closure part.
  • closure cap can be adhesively bonded to the second closure part by means of ultrasonic welding.
  • the closure cap is designed as a plug.

  • the passage opening ensures that, in the outlet position, the second medium flowing out of the outlet opening passes through the passage opening into the interior of the container.
  • the cover section of the second closure part closes the passage opening on a side of the first closure part facing away from the container.
  • the sealing portion is connected by means of webs with the lid portion, wherein a plurality of openings opening into the container are formed by free spaces between the webs.
  • the sealing portion is connected by means of webs with the other shell portion, wherein a plurality of openings opening into the container are formed by free spaces between the webs.
  • the webs contact the sealing section tangentially. This is particularly advantageous if the transfer of the container closure from one position to the other position by means of a rotary movement or at least a superimposed rotational movement takes place. Such an orientation of the webs is particularly well suited to absorb the then acting on the sealing portion shear forces.
  • first closure member has a first thread
  • first thread being engaged with a thread of the second closure member
  • the closure members being movable by rotation from the closed position to the outlet position.
  • engaged threads has the advantage that the movement of the closure parts relative to each other inevitably takes place along a straight line, whereby the handling of the container closure is facilitated, in particular wedging between the formed as a plug sealing element and the shell portion is avoided.
  • the first closure part has a second thread for screwing to the container.
  • the torque for transferring the container closure from the closed position to the outlet position is smaller than the torque for releasing the first Closure parts of the container.
