- the link In the locked position of the trigger mechanism, the link allows manual control of the mechanism by the handle.
- the displacement of the trigger lever 16 towards the triggered position under the action of the triggers, causes the momentary rupture of the mechanical link, causing the automatic triggering of the mechanism, independently of the lever 6.
- the trigger lever 16 is associated with a spring recall 27 intended to ensure the automatic restoration of the mechanical connection when the lever 6 is actuated towards the open position, following a triggering of the mechanism on fault.
- This breakable mechanical connection comprises a hook 19 pivotally mounted on an axis 20 of the plate 15. Opposite this axis, a spout 21 of the hook 19 cooperates in the locked position of the connection with a retaining notch 22 located on the arm of the trigger lever 16.
- the transmission link 10 is coupled to the hook 19 and to the plate 15 at a point of articulation 23 capable of moving when triggered in two consecutive openings of the plate 15. This point of articulation 23 is located between the articulation axis 20 of the hook 19 on the plate and the spout 21 of the hanging hook.

- this hook is articulated on the mobile contact support device, cooperates with the triggering means and comprises means for actuating the aforementioned signaling means, in this case a so-called first indicator light 32, during an opening following a defect of any type.
- the handle 6 and the support device 3 of the movable contact 4 being each returned to the open position by a spring, the inertia of the handle, of the hook and of the device and the return force of the springs of the handle and of the support device, are determined so that the speed of rotation of the hook when opening on fault is much higher than the speed of rotation of the handle.
- control device also includes so-called second T signaling means intended to signal only the triggered state of the device on short circuit.
- second T signaling means comprise an arm 34 in rotation relative to an axis 14 corresponding to the axis of the above-mentioned mechanics, this arm 34 being mechanically connected by one of its ends to the striker 28 of the triggering means magnetic 13 and acting by its opposite end on a so-called second indicator 33.
- the two LEDs 32,33 are visible through the opening 7 of the unit's housing 1, indicating respectively for the LED 32 located furthest to the right, tripping regardless of the type of fault, and for the LED located on further to the left 33, a magnetic type trigger.
- This apparent configuration of the two LEDs 32,33 indicates that a trip of magnetic origin has taken place.
- the so-called first indicator 32 located to the right has been moved by the hook when the rotating plate 15 has rotated having caused the hook to rotate rapidly, as this is more fully explained in the document EP 1,542,253 .
- the leftmost indicator 33, said second has been moved by means of the aforementioned rotary lever 34 having been actuated during the translation of the striker 28 on a short-circuit fault.
- first S signaling means or so-called any type of fault will be explained in the following with particular reference to the figure 5 .
- the deflection of the bimetallic strip 18 drives the drawer 30, which drawer drives the rotating bar 16, which results in the unlocking of the bar relative to the hook 19.
- the hook 19 goes into rotation under the force of the rod 10, and the rotation of the hook 19 causes the translation of the right indicator 32 towards an apparent fault position.
- the striker 28 drives the bar 16 in rotation, which causes the translation of the right-hand indicator 32 in the same manner as previously to an apparent fault position.
- the left indicator 33 of the second signaling means T is driven only in the case of a magnetic fault by rotation of the lever 34, which is driven by the striker 28 of the magnetic trip device 13.
- the appearance of a single indicator 32 through the opening indicates the occurrence of a thermal fault, while the appearance of the two indicators 32.33 indicates the occurrence of a magnetic fault .
- the Figures 9, 10 and 11 illustrate the case of the occurrence of a fault of magnetic origin.
- the second indicator 33 has been activated by the lever 34 driven by the striker 28, the first indicator 32 also being in the default position.
- this appearance of the two LEDs 32.33 makes it possible to signal a fault of magnetic origin. We can thus distinguish a defect of thermal origin from a defect of magnetic origin.
- the plate 15 comprises a spout 35 capable of cooperating with a part 36 of the indicator lights 32.33 extending substantially perpendicular to the plane of said indicator lights, so as to recall these two indicator lights in the non-fault position during closing the device after opening on fault.
- the figures 14 to 24 illustrate another embodiment of the signaling device D according to the invention in which this device comprises a single indicator lamp 37 with three positions for performing the two functions previously performed by the two indicator lamps of the previous embodiment, namely signaling any type of faults and the signaling function of a single magnetic fault.
- this indicator 37 can take three positions, namely a first position called position 0 corresponding to a non-fault position, a second position called a thermal fault in which this indicator has moved 2.5 mm relative to the first position, and a third position corresponding to a magnetic fault position in which the indicator has moved 2.5 mm from the second position, which means that it is at a distance of 5 mm from the O position.
- the indicator is in the so-called 0 position corresponding to a closed position of the device.
- the signaling means S In the event of a thermal fault occurring, the signaling means S, called any type of fault, bring the indicator in the second position at a distance of 2.5 mm from the first.
- the operating sequence during a magnetic trip is the same as before, except for the fact that the light 37 must be retained in this position by making it possible for the single light to move on a magnetic trip towards the third position, by lever 34, by playing on the high magnetic forces, as illustrated on the figures 23 and 24 .
- the stroke given to the indicator 37 by the lever 34 is greater than the stroke given by the hook 19 to the indicator 37.
- the magnetic forces will be sufficient to allow the indicator to pass the stops 38 or bumps of the thermal fault position. And these same stops will be sufficient to block the indicator in the thermal fault position whatever the energy given to the hook by the indicator.
- a device has therefore been produced which makes it possible to signal a trip on fault by distinguishing a thermal fault from a magnetic fault, enabling the electrical faults in an electrical installation to be communicated to the customer more precisely.

An opening is provided in the
A breakable mechanical connection is present between the
In the locked position of the trigger mechanism, the link allows manual control of the mechanism by the handle. The displacement of the trigger lever 16 towards the triggered position under the action of the triggers, causes the momentary rupture of the mechanical link, causing the automatic triggering of the mechanism, independently of the
The operation of the control device will be described below with reference to the figures.
When the control device 2 is in a position of the
The link continues its race until the dead center of the toggle joint formed by the
To open the
When the
The balance of forces exerted by the
Then, the lever spring returns the latter to the open contact position and the link brings the hook back to the initial position. A spring for biasing the hook and resetting the bar places them in a position allowing the
According to the invention, the control device also includes so-called second T signaling means intended to signal only the triggered state of the device on short circuit.
These so-called second T signaling means comprise an
The operation of the signaling device according to the invention comprising the first S and second T aforementioned signaling means will be described in the following with reference to the figures.

When a fault of magnetic origin appears, the
Thus, the appearance of a

When a fault of magnetic origin occurs, the same effects occur at the level of these signaling means S, said to be any type of fault, but with a triggering carried out by the
In the event of a thermal fault occurring, the signaling means S, called any type of fault, bring the indicator in the second position at a distance of 2.5 mm from the first.
In this case, the stroke given to the
Thanks to the invention, a device has therefore been produced which makes it possible to signal a trip on fault by distinguishing a thermal fault from a magnetic fault, enabling the electrical faults in an electrical installation to be communicated to the customer more precisely.
Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiments described and illustrated which have been given only by way of example.
