Description

Domaine technique de l'inventionTechnical field of the invention

The invention relates to a lanyard blocker with a rotating movable body, and in particular a lanyard blocker intended to attach an element to a fixed attachment point.

The invention relates in particular to a lanyard blocker intended to secure a user to a fixed wall in the field of mountaineering, climbing, caving, or work at height.

État de la techniqueState of the art

Currently, you can use a lanyard to secure yourself to a fixed wall. Such a lanyard consists of a rope generally provided, at least one end, with a hooking ring, for example a carabiner, to secure itself to a ring fixed to the wall, the other end being connected to the climber. These lanyards can also be used to attach any type of equipment. But the length of these lanyards is not adjustable.

There are rope blockers, such as belay devices marketed by the CAMP company, used to ensure the upward progression of a climber by another person who is on the ground. Such an ascender comprises a through hole for the passage of a carabiner and a groove opening into the first hole for the rope to pass through the hole and through the carabiner. The carabiner is also attached to the harness of the person on the ground who belays the climber. The rope can be blocked by wedging it between the carabiner and the blocker. To release the rope, the belayer approaches the two strands of the rope, one towards the other, and rotates the blocker to release the carabiner and thus unblock the rope. But when the rope is slid to give the climber some slack, the rope rubs against the carabiner, and causes wear.

Des exemples de bloqueurs sont décrits dans les documents WO 2006/035138 A , AT 392 592 B et WO 2012/001661 A .Examples of blockers are described in the documents WO 2006/035138 A , AT 392 592 B And WO 2012/001661 A .

Objet de l'inventionObject of the invention

The object of the invention is to remedy these drawbacks, and more particularly to produce a simple and lightweight lanyard blocker.

It is therefore proposed a lanyard blocker according to claim 1, having a body provided with a through hole for the passage of a hooking ring and a curved groove opening into the through hole for the passage of the lanyard to through the ring, the body being movable in rotation between a blocking position in which the lanyard is blocked by the ring against the body and an unlocking position in which the lanyard slides in the groove.

The groove includes a deflection element to allow, in the unlocking position, sliding of the lanyard in the groove and outside the through hole.

The deflection element is a wall separating the interior of the through hole and the interior of the groove to allow, in the unlocking position, the hooking ring to bear against the deflection element so as to that the lanyard slides without rubbing against the hanging ring.

Such a blocker allows effective blocking of the lanyard, while allowing the length of the lanyard to be adjusted under load. In particular, such a blocker makes it possible to slide the lanyard so that it cannot rub against the hooking ring, in order to avoid untimely wear of the lanyard. loin. Such a blocker is particularly suitable for securing to a fixed point.

The groove can be configured to exert friction on the tether so as to allow the body to tilt from one position to another.

The groove comprises a first orifice for passage of the lanyard inside the body, a second orifice opening into the through hole and a third orifice for passage of the lanyard outside the body, the first and third orifices being separated by a separation element from the body, the separation element allowing, by leverage effect, the passage of the body into the unlocking position when the lanyard is resting against the separation element.

The groove may further comprise an opening oriented towards the outside of the body and located between the first and second orifices of the groove.

Such an opening provides access to the portion of the lanyard which passes through the groove in order, in particular, to facilitate the sliding of the lanyard in the body of the blocker.

The body may be provided with a pulley located between the first and second orifices of the groove.

The body may also include a handle to facilitate rotation of the body.

The handle may comprise at least one portion partially covering the through hole so as to rest against the hooking ring in order to reduce the effort in the handle thanks to a reduction effect.

The two strands of the lanyard can be attached to the same element.

The body can be made from a single piece, preferably in metal, and for example in aluminum.

The body can also be made from two sheets held together by rivets.

Description détailléedetailed description

On the figure 1 , there is shown schematically a perspective view of an ascender 1 of lanyard 2 having a body 3 provided with a through hole 4 for the passage of a hooking ring 5, for example a shackle and preferably a carabiner. The body 3 of the blocker 1 is preferably metallic and can be made from cut, stamped and folded sheet metal or forged, or machined from a block of metal. Generally, the carabiner 5 is attached to a fixed point, such as an anchor ring attached to a wall or any other fixed element, and at least one strand 6, 7 of the lanyard is attached to an object that is wants to hang up at the fixed point. The object can be a bag, or any other type of equipment, or a user, for example via a harness. The blocker 1 makes it possible to block the lanyard 2 in order to secure the attachment of the user, or of equipment, while offering the possibility of adjusting the length of the lanyard, in particular of adjusting the distance between the end of the strand 6 which is attached to the object and the carabiner 5. In order to be able to adjust the length of the lanyard 2, the body 3 of the blocker 1 is movable in rotation between an unlocking position illustrated in figures 2 and 3 and a blocking position illustrated in figures 4, 5 , 7 and 8 .

On the figures 2 and 3 , a front view of the locker 1 of the lanyard 2 in the unlocking position is shown schematically. In particular, the Figure 3 is a sectional view along axis AA of the figure 1 . We have also reported in the figures certain references of the elements previously described in the figure 1 . The body 3 of the blocker 1 further comprises a groove 9 for guiding the lanyard inside the body 3, so that the lanyard 2 passes through the through hole 4 and through the carabiner 5. In particular, the groove 9 allows sliding of the lanyard 2 outside the through hole 4, in other words around the through hole 4. The groove 9 comprises a first orifice 11 for passage of the lanyard inside the body 3, a second orifice 10 opening into the through hole 4 and a third orifice 8 opening towards the outside of the body 3. In addition, the groove 9 comprises a portion 18 located between the first and second orifices 11, 10 of the groove 9. The portion 18 is curved towards the through hole 4. The groove 9 has an overall U shape. The through hole 4 and the orifices 11, 10, 8 of the groove 9 have an overall cylindrical shape. The through hole 4 may have an ovoid shape. The through hole 4 has a main axis oriented substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal plane of the body 3 (that is to say to the cutting plane along the axis AA). The first, second and third orifices 11, 10, 8 are oriented, for their part, substantially perpendicular to the through hole 4. Thus, the lanyard 2 enters the body 3 by passing through the first orifice 11, passes into the curved portion 18 of the groove 9, passes through the second orifice 10, and passes inside the through hole 4 in a direction perpendicular to the main axis of the through hole 4. Then the lanyard 2 passes through the third orifice 8 of the groove 9 to exit the body 3 of the blocker 1. The groove 9 is oriented so that the lanyard 2 passes around the through hole 4. In particular, the curved portion 18 of the groove 9 comprises a deflection element 12. Preferably, the deflection element 12 may be a wall separating the interior of the through hole 4 and the interior of the curved portion 18 of the groove 9. The wall forms a bearing surface 12 located between the lanyard 2 and the carabiner 5. In particular, the support surface 12 is located facing the interior of the through hole 4. According to one embodiment, the curved portion 18 can be entirely closed within the body 3 along its length and open only at the level of the first and second orifices 11, 10. According to another embodiment, the curved portion 18 of the groove 9 may include an opening 13 oriented towards the outside of the body 3 to access with lanyard 2, in particular to facilitate the sliding of the lanyard 2 in the groove 9.

En outre, le corps comprend un élément de séparation 14 situé entre le troisième orifice 8 et le premier orifice 11 de la gorge 9.In general, it can be noted that the third orifice 8 and the first orifice 11 of the groove 9 are located on the same face of the body 3, and on either side of the through hole 4. In addition, the body comprises a separation element 14 located between the third orifice 8 and the first orifice 11 of the groove 9.

The body 3 of the blocker 1 is mobile in rotation around the main axis of the through hole 4, that is to say in rotation around an axis of rotation substantially perpendicular to the through hole 4. Generally speaking, the body 3 is movable in rotation between a blocking position in which the lanyard 2 is blocked by the carabiner 5 against the body 3 and an unlocking position in which the lanyard 2 slides in the groove 9.

En particulier, l'élément de déviation 12 permet le coulissement de la longe 2 tout en empêchant celle-ci de frotter contre le mousqueton 5.In the unlocking position, the lanyard 2 slides in the groove 9 of the body 3 of the blocker 1, in particular in the curved portion 18 of the groove 9 and through the third orifice 8. In this position, the user can slide the lanyard 2 by pulling on one of the strands 6, 7 thereof. Sliding can also be facilitated by the deflection element 12. Indeed, when the carabiner 5 is resting against the deflection element 12, the user can easily slide the lanyard 2 by pulling only on the strand referenced 7, also noted as somewhat soft. The deflection element 12 makes it possible, in particular, to slide the lanyard 2 when a weight is fixed at the end of the other strand referenced 6, also known as the safety strand. By pulling on the soft strand 7 we shorten the length of the safety strand 6 between the weight and the carabiner 5. We can also extend the length of the safety strand 6, by releasing the tension on the soft strand 7, while maintaining the body 3 in the unlocking position, and by pulling on the safety strand 6. We can therefore adjust the length of the lanyard 2. In other words, we can shorten the length of the safety strand 6 when it is under tension , that is to say under load, by pulling on the soft strand 7. The length of the safety strand 6 can be extended when it is no longer in tension. We can also adjust the lengths of the two strands 6, 7 of the lanyard 2, by removing the weight at each end of the strands 6, 7 so that each strand 6, 7 is no longer under tension. In particular, the deflection element 12 allows the lanyard 2 to slide while preventing it from rubbing against the carabiner 5.

On the figures 4 and 5 , there is schematically shown a front view of the blocker 1 of lanyard 2 in the blocking position. In particular, the Figure 5 is a sectional view along axis AA of the figure 1 . Certain references to the elements described in the previous figures have also been shown in the figures. In the blocking position, the carabiner 5 wedges the lanyard 2 against the body 3 of the blocker 1, in particular against an edge of the through hole 4 which is located between the third orifice 8 and the second orifice 10 of the groove 9. Furthermore , the carabiner 5 is located opposite the deflection element 12 and does not rest against it. In the blocking position, the lanyard 2 does not slide, and the safety strand 6 is in tension and ensures that an object is attached to the anchoring ring in complete safety. In addition, the soft strand 7 may or may not be fixed to the object, because the latter is not put under tension.

The rotation of the body 3 of the blocker 1 allows passage between the blocking position and the unlocking position and vice versa. To move from the blocking position to the unlocking position, the user pulls on the soft strand 7 of the lanyard 2, and the body 3 tilts while resting against the carabiner 5 at the level of the deflection element 12. The body 3 rotates around its axis of rotation to the unlocking position in which the carabiner 5 rests against the deflection element 12 and does not jam plus the lanyard 2 against the body 3. The rotation of the body 3 releases the carabiner 5 which is no longer in contact with the lanyard 2. Thus, in the unlocking position, the lanyard 2 slides without rubbing against the carabiner 5, which limits the wear of the lanyard 2. The rotation of the body 3 to move to the unlocking position can be carried out at full load, that is to say with the safety strand 6 in tension. In addition, the groove 9 creates a chicane for the lanyard 2, and generates friction on the lanyard 2 in order to facilitate the rotation of the body 3 from one position to another. In particular, the deflection element 12 allows a first leverage effect which cooperates with the friction generated by the groove 9 on the lanyard 2, in order to facilitate the tilting of the body 3 into the blocking position. Furthermore, the separation element 14 promotes passage into the unlocking position by allowing support of the soft strand 7 on the separation element 14 to create a second leverage effect opposite to the first.

Thus, the body 3 tilts automatically while resting against the carabiner 5, at the level of the deflection element 12 of the groove 9, by the effect of the weight which keeps the safety strand 6 in tension. The body 3 rotates around its axis of rotation up to the blocking position in which the carabiner 5 rests against lanyard 2 and traps the latter against body 3.

On the Figure 6 , a rear view of a lanyard ascender 1 according to another embodiment is shown schematically. In this other embodiment, the body 3 comprises a pulley 15 located in the groove 9, in particular in the curved portion 18, in order to facilitate the sliding of the lanyard 2.

THE figures 7 and 8 schematically illustrate previous views of other embodiments of a blocker 1 of lanyard 2. According to an embodiment illustrated in figure 8 , the blocker 1 has a handle 16 in projection of the body 3 in order to facilitate its rotation. Preferably, the handle 16 is located on the side of the third orifice 8, that is to say on the side of the soft strand 7. According to another embodiment, illustrated in Figure 7 , the handle 16 comprises a portion 17 which partly covers the through hole 4 so as to rest against the carabiner 5 to increase the forces applied to the carabiner 5 by the body 3 during the rotation of the latter.

L'ouverture supplémentaire 24 est située entre l'élément de déviation 12 et l'élément de séparation 14.We also illustrated figures 9 and 10 another embodiment of a lanyard blocker 1 according to the invention. In this other embodiment, the body 3 of the blocker is made from two sheets 3a, 3b held together by rivets 12, 14, 20 to 23. For example, the body 3 can comprise two rivets 20, 21 located respectively at the ends of the body 3. In particular the rivet referenced 12 forms the deflection element. In this case the deflection element 12 can be a generally cylindrical rod. For example, body 3 may include a rivet referenced 14 forming the separation element. Furthermore, the groove 9 may include an additional opening 24 for communication between the interior of the through hole 4 and the interior of the groove 9. The additional opening 24 is located between the deflection element 12 and the element separation 14.

Thus, we provide an adjustable lanyard blocker configured to hang any type of object at a fixed point while allowing the length of the lanyard to be adjusted. Such a blocker is simple to use and is particularly compact.
