Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for the production of book block and envelope formed, bound books, consisting of a circulating on a machine frame conveyor, which has attached to a traction means at regular intervals closed and openable brackets, in which the protruding with the back down , bound book block pass on a production line a transhipment station, in which the glued book block back a flat envelope is fed and then pressed against the book block back and the adjacent side flanks, the envelope on the inside, approximately to the front edges running, one for klebe do connection of the Envelope provided with the outermost sheets of the book block provided glue bead.
- Devices of the type mentioned are used in industrial bookbinding for binding books, magazines, catalogs, paperbacks or similar printed products used.
- Previously to loose book block collated sheets, or even thread-stitched book blocks are transferred with their backs down in the open brackets of Klebebinders, which are driven and guided in a circulating path. After the book blocks are aligned in the brackets, the latter are closed, so that the book blocks are clamped with outstanding back in the brackets.
- the book blocks are processed by means of processing stations arranged along the path, in particular with the printed sheets gathered to form book blocks on the back and the areas near the back.
- Typical processing of bookbinding blocks is the milling of the dorsal folds, the preparation of the back for application of the adhesive, and the application of adhesive to the back and near areas of the sides of the book block, as well as the feeding, straightening and pressing of the cover even with thread-stitched book block.
- An additional processing is the application of adhesive in the area of the front edges on the insides of the open envelopes.
- the clips are opened and the book in an obliquely downwardly extending channel, a so-called oblique spout, out of the range of staples of Klebebinders and at the same time raised the envelope by acting guides to the outside of the book block.
- the adhesive applied to the insides of the envelope must be adhesive at least until the cover with the cover sheets is against the outermost sides of the book block. sticks.
- deflectors are provided on the clamps carry the envelope at this stage.
- this has the disadvantage that the deflectors briefly come into contact with the adhesive during the closing process of the envelope.
- adhesive may deposit on the deflectors over time, which interferes with the processing process and results in the perfect binder having to be stopped for the purpose of cleaning the deflectors.
- Other disadvantages are that the deflectors damage the adhesive film and glue is spread against the front edges, so that there is a risk that the adhesive can get between the sheets of a book block and thus stick together.
- this object is achieved in that, in the conveying direction after the transfer station, along an obliquely downwardly extending guide section of the production line is arranged a deflecting device that is connected to the machine frame and spreads the cover sheets transversely to the conveying direction.
- the Fig. 1 to 4 show in a highly simplified representation of a section of a production line 14 of adhesive binder 1 for the production of book block 2 and envelopes 3 formed, preferably adhesive bound books 4.
- the book blocks 2 in attached to a traction means 6 at regular intervals closed - And openable brackets 7 a circumferential, connected to the machine frame 15 of the perfect binder 1 conveyor 5 clamped with downwardly projecting book block back 8.
- the flat book block back 8 is supplied with the flat envelope 3 formed by two cover sheets 16 and an intermediate cover flap and subsequently pressed against the book block back 8 and adjacent lateral flanks 9.
- the deflecting device 17 is formed by a guide unit 18 acting on the inner sides 10 of the cover sheets 16, which has two guide elements 19 which are opposite to one another and are designed as rails 26.
- the interaction of the guide 25 and deflector 17 is shown.
- the book 4 is already out with the near-edge flanks 9 between the side walls 27 of the channel 24 and the book block 2 between jaws of the slightly open bracket 7 side.
- the book 4 immersed steadily deeper into the channel 4, whereby the Front edges 11 and the applied glue beads 12 move towards the guide elements 19 out.
- the Fig. 3 shows a lying in the conveying direction F downstream of the line II sectional plane II-II through the production line 14, from which it is apparent that the book 4 is immersed deeper into the channel 24 and the front edges 11 and glue beads 12 are closer to the guide elements 19.
- Fig. 4 shows a lying in the conveying direction F downstream of the line II-II sectional plane III-III, in which the book 4 is for the most part immersed in the channel 24 and the glue beads 12 are already close to the guide elements 19.
- the cover sheets 16 are no longer at the guide elements 19, but are pressed by compressed air from acting as a nozzle outlet openings 21 away from the guide elements 19. Smearing of the guide elements 19 by glue or spreading of the glue beads 12 by the guide elements 19 can be avoided in this way.
- the guide elements 19 are hollow and formed as connected to a compressed air source air lines 20 which have directed against the inside 10 of the cover sheets 16 outlet openings 21. From the Fig. 2 to 4 It can also be seen that the location in the conveying direction F, where the glue beads 12 could come into contact with the guide elements 19, is dependent on the width of the book 4. So that all nozzles need not be supplied with compressed air unnecessarily on the entire length of the guide elements 19, the outlet openings in the guide elements 19 in the conveying direction F are arranged in groups. Each of these groups are assigned chambers with separate air connections, which can be switched on individually.
- the guide 25 and the deflector 17 are designed to be adjustable transversely to the conveying direction F.
- the located on the side of the machine frame 15 inner parts of the guide 25 and deflector 17 are fixedly mounted on the machine frame 15 and the outer parts mounted in the adjustment direction V on guides 28 slidably.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a device for the production of book block and envelope formed, bound books, consisting of a circulating on a machine frame conveyor, which has attached to a traction means at regular intervals closed and openable brackets, in which the protruding with the back down , bound book block pass on a production line a transhipment station, in which the glued book block back a flat envelope is fed and then pressed against the book block back and the adjacent side flanks, the envelope on the inside, approximately to the front edges running, one for klebeweisen connection of the Envelope provided with the outermost sheets of the book block provided glue bead.
Devices of the type mentioned, also referred to as perfect binder, are used in industrial bookbinding for binding books, magazines, catalogs, paperbacks or similar printed products used. Previously to loose book block collated sheets, or even thread-stitched book blocks are transferred with their backs down in the open brackets of Klebebinders, which are driven and guided in a circulating path. After the book blocks are aligned in the brackets, the latter are closed, so that the book blocks are clamped with outstanding back in the brackets. During their transport through the perfect binder, the book blocks are processed by means of processing stations arranged along the path, in particular with the printed sheets gathered to form book blocks on the back and the areas near the back. Typical processing of bookbinding blocks is the milling of the dorsal folds, the preparation of the back for application of the adhesive, and the application of adhesive to the back and near areas of the sides of the book block, as well as the feeding, straightening and pressing of the cover even with thread-stitched book block. An additional processing is the application of adhesive in the area of the front edges on the insides of the open envelopes. Finally, the clips are opened and the book in an obliquely downwardly extending channel, a so-called oblique spout, out of the range of staples of Klebebinders and at the same time raised the envelope by acting guides to the outside of the book block. The adhesive applied to the insides of the envelope must be adhesive at least until the cover with the cover sheets is against the outermost sides of the book block. sticks. In order to prevent parts of the clamps or other machine parts from being smeared with adhesive during the closing of the envelope, deflectors are provided on the clamps carry the envelope at this stage. However, this has the disadvantage that the deflectors briefly come into contact with the adhesive during the closing process of the envelope. As a result, adhesive may deposit on the deflectors over time, which interferes with the processing process and results in the perfect binder having to be stopped for the purpose of cleaning the deflectors. Other disadvantages are that the deflectors damage the adhesive film and glue is spread against the front edges, so that there is a risk that the adhesive can get between the sheets of a book block and thus stick together.
It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a device of the type mentioned above, which guides the envelope on the insides thereof during closure in the outlet of the perfect binder, without stationary parts or the staples of the perfect binder come into contact with the adhesive and the adhesive application is not is impaired.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that, in the conveying direction after the transfer station, along an obliquely downwardly extending guide section of the production line is arranged a deflecting device that is connected to the machine frame and spreads the cover sheets transversely to the conveying direction.
