Definitions
- the invention relates to an antenna system for motor vehicles with the generic features specified in the main claim.
- the antennas in a surrounded by sheet metal rear window, the rod antenna on the metallic roof of a sedan and others, they can be with regard to the design of the radiator and the allocation of the feed point and a sufficient ground connection - taking into account the RF-specific characteristics of the respective vehicle body - Position and optimize without major difficulties for a stable function.
- the variability relates to the roof structure, especially in convertibles.
- the foldable roof from metallic elements and the conventional construction, consisting of a metallic linkage with a covering of fabric or plastic surfaces.
- rear windows are known with integrated antenna structures. These antennas can be used there for radio services as long as the roof does not disappear in the folded state under the cover or in the boot.
- rod antennas usually on the fenders, or antennas in the bumper area are common.
- the rod antennas are exposed to vandalistic excesses and theft.
- the antennas in the bumper with the body panel "in the back", strongly directional, and you should order at least two radiators in opposite positions on the vehicle, combined with diversity or phase-controlled signal summation.
- long RF cables between the individual feed points and the receiver can not be avoided.
- the arrangement in low height in the bumper is also in principle not the cheapest for the reception.
- the ground connection can be problematic. Possible solutions would be in a ground plane or dipole arrangement, such as in DE 102 06 350 specified. However, such a thing is often expensive and can limit the available for multi-antenna arrays disk surface.
- the steering wheel and the panel are in the range of the engine compartment noise emissions.
- the function of antennas in the seat depends on whether someone is sitting on it or not, and the motors of a seat actuation generate interference and EMC problems.
- the door-window spars are not favorable locations for antennas, because either at least the window spar of the door or even the underlying B-rail is made of metal. Here you will get after all experience no trouble-free useful signal with sufficient level.
- FR 2 742 584 B 1 describes the arrangement of a rod antenna in a "sufficiently large" cavity above the rear wheel house of a motor vehicle body. Prerequisite is the execution of the surrounding body areas of a dielectric material.
- the antenna after FR 2 742 584 is inside, on the top of the wheel arch, and the wheel arch is covered with metal foil as a ground reference for the antenna. It is doubtful that enough space can actually be provided in the bodywork for an arrangement as shown in the accompanying drawing - with ample room for the antenna and sufficient area for effective ground reference.
- Today one strives to ensure that the vehicles are as much "inside larger than outside" (advertising with the "space miracle"). This applies in particular to the proposal to arrange several antennas within such a cavity.
- the express restriction to rod antennas arranged as vertically as possible is not particularly expedient.
- Loud FR 2 720 847 A1 is there space for an antenna of geometrically small dimensions. As has been practiced for a long time, these may include sensors, remote control antennas and - just - an antenna for GPS. The antennas in this location may be provided on vehicles of any type having a windshield and an interior rearview mirror and may remain permanently functional there, regardless of specifics or temporary changes in the roof structure. This arrangement is also of no relevance to the problems that are solved with the present invention.
- the invention is based on the object in vehicles with variable roof structure or roof structures, which consist mainly of dielectric parts, through new approaches to antenna position and supply connection and ground connection - to ensure a consistently stable broadcasting high quality - in detail as in the context.
- the invention defines new positions for radiators on motor vehicles, which are particularly interesting for convertibles. This is especially true for the cavities behind moldings of the interior trim near the waistline. So far, no one has thought of the possibility of arranging radiators - whether wire or rod-like or as a metallic coating - in this zone of the vehicle interior. However, it has been found that e.g. Also, a radiator arranged inside the parapet in the rear rear area profits from the known effect of the field line concentration along the edges of body elements of the vehicle. On the other hand, there are cavities of the roof structure - in side or roof struts made of dielectric material - in the favorable for the reception upper area of the vehicle and are still not visible to the eye. In experiments, commercially available rod antennas were tested as well as specifically adapted to the cavities and fairing metallic structures and zeit ⁇ 1 ⁇ 4pke consistently good reception properties.
- FIG. 1 illustrates the locations where antennas were tested in positions according to the invention and with which surprisingly good reception properties were determined. These are mainly the cavities 2.2 and 2.3 in the roof area and the cavity 5 behind the balustrade panel, We put z. T. wire pieces and, for comparison, a normal, standard short-rod antennas. In the case of plastic parts of the interior trim, such as the trim part 5, a metallic coating can be provided or a metallized foil can be inserted. In each case attention was paid to a low-resistance, as short as possible ground connection near the feed point.
- FIG. 2 and 3 show examples of low-resistance ground connections with spring elements on the top frame of a convertible.
- the mechanical guide unit for the top frame after FIG. 2 consists of the guide bushing 9 and the guide pin 10. It serves to adjust the hood during the closing movement and secures in the closed state, the top frame against lateral tilting.
- the spring 11 which presses against the guide pin 10 with the roof closed, the necessary electrical contact and thus a permanent ground connection between top frame and vehicle body is now ensured according to the invention, even with shaking and thus possibly associated axial movement of the guide pin in the socket.
- the same effect of the compensation of mechanical movements of the top frame - here in the joints 8.1 of the linkage - is achieved with a spring element, which, as in 3d figure shown, is attached to a lever next to the joint 8.1 and in the end position 'closed top' presses resiliently against the adjacent rod member.
- the two spring elements provide the continuous contact between the metallic body and the electrically conductive frame, which according to the invention surround the dielectric surfaces of the roof area into which antennas or antenna structures are integrated according to the invention, and serve to provide a functionally sufficient mass for the antenna function ,
- the contact with resilient contacts is qualitatively equal to the ground strap made of braided copper braid; but in contrast, it is less expensive and represents - in the case of the guide unit 10, 11 - the only viable solution.

Description
- In
FR 2 742 584 FR 2 742 584
- In
Laut
