Definitions

  • the present invention relates to applicators for the application of a product, in particular a cosmetic or dermatological product.
  • a fingertip system has been proposed for use in dental hygiene.
  • the US Patent 2,763,885 describes such a system consisting of an abrasive foam impregnated with toothpaste.
  • the US Patent 5,678,273 describes a similar system.
  • the supports described are not suitable for the application of a cosmetic or medicinal preparation.
  • prepreg product systems do not guarantee good product stability.
  • the applicator makes it possible to prevent contamination and soiling of the product contained in the reservoir prior to application.
  • the applicator makes it possible to apply two products that are incompatible with each other, or products that are unstable over time by extemporaneous mixing during application, or products that produce an exothermic reaction when they are brought into contact, one of the products being packaged in the reservoir and the other in the applicator portion.
  • this applicator allows a "finger" makeup relatively accurate without touching the product.
  • the fixing means may consist of an adhesive layer formed on the first side of the reservoir, a ring, a thermowell, or a "velcro" type system.
  • the means for establishing the communication between the reservoir and the applicator portion may consist of a membrane capable of breaking in response to a pressure exerted on the first side of the reservoir, during the first use of the applicator.
  • the means for establishing the communication between the reservoir and the applicator portion may comprise a member adapted to pierce the second side of the reservoir.
  • the member may be formed for example by a trocar integral with the first side of the reservoir.
  • the means for establishing the communication between the reservoir and the applicator portion may comprise at least one valve capable of opening in response to an overpressure generated inside the reservoir. The communication between the reservoir and the applicator portion is then reversible.
  • the first side of the reservoir may be configured to deform in response to an external pressure to establish communication between the reservoir and the applicator portion.
  • this first side can sink into the tank when pressed with a finger.
  • it is possible to reduce the internal volume of the tank and generate an overpressure inside the tank which leads to the rupture of the membrane.
  • the first side of the reservoir When the first side of the reservoir is pushed in, it can also cause the trocar to engage with the membrane to pierce it.
  • the applicator portion may be made of a porous or fibrous material, in particular foam of a thermoplastic material, sponge, felt, or natural fibers, especially cotton.
  • the applicator portion may be made of an elastically deformable material so as to obtain a relatively flexible application.
  • the adhesive layer may include a hypoallergenic adhesive.
  • the applicator may have, in cross-section in the direction of the thickness, a convex shape, at least on the side of the face serving the application.
  • the applicator may have, in section in the direction of the thickness, a concave shape of the first side of the reservoir. This shape facilitates the positioning of a finger on this side.
  • the applicator may have, in section in the direction of the thickness, a flattened shape with a first side of the reservoir substantially parallel to a face used for the application.
  • the applicator may have, in front view, a circular shape or a non-circular shape, for example a generally triangular shape, square, oval, drop of water or almond.
  • the first wall of the tank covered with adhesive may be covered, before the first use, with a removable protective film.
  • the product contained in the reservoir may be in liquid, semi-liquid or pasty form.
  • the applicator portion may further contain a second product for mixing with the product contained in the reservoir, the second product may be in liquid, semi-liquid, pasty or powder form.
  • the reservoir may define a substantially cylindrical, spherical or any other shape.
  • the tank can be made of polyethylene, polypropylene, PVC, polyamide, thermoplastic elastomers (SEBS), polycarbonates or Teflon.
  • the objects of the invention can also be achieved by providing a packaging and application device comprising a closed housing containing at least one applicator as just described.
  • the device may be in the form of a bag or a cell closed by a film.
  • the applicator according to the invention is particularly useful for the application of a cosmetic or dermatological product, in particular a disinfecting product, a sunscreen, a moisturizing product, an anti-wrinkle, a nail polish, a foundation, a lipstick, a makeup remover, a hair care product, a hair coloring product, a deodorant or antiperspirant product or a perfume.
  • a cosmetic or dermatological product in particular a disinfecting product, a sunscreen, a moisturizing product, an anti-wrinkle, a nail polish, a foundation, a lipstick, a makeup remover, a hair care product, a hair coloring product, a deodorant or antiperspirant product or a perfume.
  • the applicator 10 shown on the Figures 1 to 3 comprises a product reservoir 30 and an applicator portion 20 for applying a product to the skin, mucous membranes or superficial body growths.
  • the applicator portion 20 may comprise, for example, a layer of a porous or fibrous material, in particular of an elastically deformable material, such as an open-cell or closed-cell foam, a felt or any other cellular structure, in particular a natural sponge or no, or fibrous structures including cotton or textile, or a superposition thereof.
  • an elastically deformable material such as an open-cell or closed-cell foam, a felt or any other cellular structure, in particular a natural sponge or no, or fibrous structures including cotton or textile, or a superposition thereof.
  • the applicator portion may also comprise or consist of a film, which may be of relatively small thickness.
  • the applicator portion 20 may present, in front view, a circular shape and a substantially constant thickness e giving it a flattened shape.
  • the applicator portion 20 defines on one side an application surface 21 intended to be applied to an area to be treated and, on the opposite side, a face 22 bonded at its periphery to a membrane 41.
  • the face 22 may be periphery heat sealed to the membrane 41.
  • the membrane 41 constitutes a wall of the product reservoir 30, on one side 32 of the reservoir, the membrane being tight to the product so as to isolate the applicator portion of the product contained in the reservoir.
  • the membrane 41 may be made for example of polyethylene, polypropylene, PVC, polyamide, thermoplastic elastomers (SEBS), polycarbonates or polyurethane.
  • the tank 30 has a lateral wall 33 of circular section on the free edge of which is glued or heat sealed membrane 41.
  • the side wall is for example made of plastic material including polyethylene, polypropylene, PVC, polyamide, thermoplastic elastomers (SEBS) or in polycarbonates. We choose a sufficient thickness for this side wall is relatively rigid.
  • the side wall 33 of the tank is closed by a slightly concave wall 31.
  • the wall 31 is relatively thin, it is for example between 200 microns and 2000 microns, and preferably between 500 microns and 1000 microns so that it can be deformed in response to a pressure exerted by a finger.
  • the wall 31 is covered, on its face opposite to the inside of the tank, with an adhesive layer 310.
  • the adhesive may be a permanent, water-resistant, hypoallergenic adhesive which adheres more strongly to the wall 31 only to the skin.
  • the adhesive layer 310 may be present in the form of a film, which may completely cover the face of the wall 31.
  • the adhesive layer may also be present in the form of a network of dots, a series of strips, or extend only in the central region of the wall 31.
  • the layer of adhesive can still be covered, for example, by a net to reduce the adhesive power.
  • the adhesive layer 310 may be covered, before the first use, by a removable protective film 50 may include a tab 51 projecting from the side wall 33 of the reservoir 30 to facilitate its removal.
  • the protective film 50 comprises for example a silicone paper or a polyethylene film.
  • the reservoir 30 contains a liquid product P, semi-liquid or pasty, in the form of a cosmetic or dermatological preparation.
  • the applicator portion 20 may also be pre-impregnated with a second product, also in liquid, semi-liquid or pasty form, or in powder form. This allows in particular to apply two incompatible preparations or unstable preparations over time by extemporaneous mixing during application.
  • the user removes the removable protective film 50 and places a finger on the face of the wall 31 covered with adhesive.
  • the applicator 10 is thus fixed on the pulp of the first phalanget of the index for example, as seen in FIG. figure 2 .
  • the application surface 21 is then applied to the part of the body to receive the preparation.
  • the wall 31 deforms towards the inside of the tank thus reducing the volume thereof.
  • An overpressure is thus created inside the tank, the overpressure being such that the membrane 41 tears and forms a passage 34 illustrated in FIG. figure 3 .
  • the product P can then flow into the applicator portion 20 through the passage 34.
  • the product moves, either simply by gravity, or also by capillarity in the pores or between the fibers of the porous or fibrous material constituting the applicator portion 20. to the application surface 21.
  • the product can also move to the applicator portion by pumping the material constituting the applicator portion when it is elastically deformable. We can then spread the product on a specific area and / or massage the area.
  • the applicator 10 may for example be used for application on the crow's feet or the area above the upper lip of anti-wrinkle preparations based on vitamin C and / or retinol. Similarly, it can be used for the application of anti-viral preparations on a herpetic labial lesion.
  • the applicator can also be used to apply eye shadows or lipsticks. It also allows perfume retouching, removal of nails or micropeeling on the face.
  • the applicator 10 may, of course, have a shape different from that just described, particularly adapted to the area of the body or face on which it is desired to apply it.
  • the applicator 10 may for example have a convex application surface 21 convex, for example convex towards the outside, as illustrated in FIG. figure 4 .
  • the application surface 21 is covered with a nonwoven film 23.
  • the application surface 21 comprises a flocking 24.
  • the wall 31 is flat and not concave.
  • the applicator 10 may have, when viewed in front view, a shape other than circular, to allow for example to more easily or more accurately apply a product on a given part of the face, for example the eyelids or lips.
  • the applicator 10 may have, in front view, a substantially square shape ( Figure 6A ), oval ( Figure 6B ), triangular ( Figure 6C ), almond-shaped ( Figure 6D ) or in the form of a drop of water ( figure 6E ).
  • the applicator portion 20 may contain or be formed by a thin polymeric film.
  • This film may for example contain a preparation to be applied, which will be solubilized extemporaneously by an aqueous solution contained in the reservoir.
  • an applicator 10 may be placed on the ends of two joined fingers, as illustrated in FIG. figure 7 , or two applicators having for example different shapes at the end of a finger, as illustrated in FIG. figure 8 .
  • two applicators affixed to two opposable fingers can be used to make a clip and make-up lashes or color a lock of hair.
  • such a use of two applicators makes it possible to avoid the halos under the eyes and to not contaminate the eye or the eyelid.
  • Such use of two or more applicators also makes it easy to handle several products at once so, for example, to achieve a multicolored creative makeup.
  • the applicator 10 may be packaged for example in a sachet.
  • the applicator 10 may be housed in a cell 60, formed for example by thermoforming a plate of thermoplastic material, as shown in FIG. figure 9 .
  • the cell defines a housing 61 in which is housed the applicator 10, the removable protective film 50 is then fixed to the cell around the housing, for example by heat sealing 52, so as to close the housing 61 in a sealed manner. It is obvious that each housing can accommodate several applicators 10.
  • the cell may also delimit several housings 61 each housing one or more applicator (s) 10, as illustrated in FIG. figure 10 .
  • Pre-cut lines 62 are arranged around each housing to allow separation of each housing provided with its applicator and closed by the removable protective film 50.
  • the applicator 10 may further comprise means capable of piercing the membrane 41 insulating the applicator portion 20 of the product contained in the reservoir 30.
  • This is for example a trocar 42 formed from the wall 31 and whose free cutting end 420 is oriented towards the membrane 41.
  • the free cutting end 420 of the trocar is at a distance from the membrane 41 when the wall 31 is not deformed.
  • the wall 31 deforms towards the inside of the tank and moves the trocar 42 to the membrane 41
  • the cutting end 420 of the trocar then pierces the membrane 41 so as to form a passage 34 for the product, as illustrated in FIG. figure 12 .
  • the fixing means of the applicator on one or more fingers may be different from an adhesive layer such as that just described.
  • an adhesive layer such as that just described.
  • the applicator 10 is for example fixed to the finger by a ring 311.
  • the applicator may also be attached to the finger by a finger of glove 312 as shown in FIG. figure 14 .
  • the ring and the glove finger can be integral with the side 31 of the tank 30.
  • a "velcro" type system 313, shown in FIG. figure 15 to secure a ring or a thermowell on the side 31 of the reservoir to fix the applicator 10 on a finger.
  • the applicator 10 can be used to apply a salicylic acid care cream.
  • the applicator portion 20 is made of polyurethane foam.
  • the face 22 of the applicator portion is bonded at its periphery, by an acrylic adhesive, to a membrane 41 of polyethylene.
  • the side walls 33 and the wall 31 of the tank 30 are made of polyethylene low density.
  • the reservoir 30 contains 0.2 ml of a 1% salicylic acid care cream.
  • the wall 33 of the container is covered with a silicone adhesive.
  • the applicator 10 can be used to apply an exact dose of pure vitamin C.
  • the applicator portion 20 is a sponge.
  • the sponge is impregnated with pure vitamin C in powder form.
  • the face 22 of the applicator portion is bonded at its periphery, by an acrylic adhesive, to a membrane 41 of polyethylene.
  • the side walls 33 and the wall 31 of the tank 30 are made of polypropylene.
  • the reservoir 30 this time contains 0.2 ml of thermal water.
  • the wall 31 of the container is covered with a silicone adhesive. At the time of application, the thermal water comes impregnate the sponge, solubilize vitamin C and allow its action on the skin.
  • Such an applicator makes it possible to maintain the integrity of vitamin C, which is unstable in solution, compared to a solubilized form, vitamin C being non-degraded and active.
