Description

The invention relates to street furniture forming a shelter, intended for be installed on the edge of a transport vehicle passageway, in particular public transport.

Shelters of this type, known in particular under the name "bus shelters" include a rear vertical wall which generally extends parallel to the passageway and which is formed of glass plates supported by a frame also serving as support for a roof which extends from the rear wall to the passageway to form a protection of people against bad weather. One or two walls lateral verticals are provided to reinforce the protection, at a end or both ends of the rear wall respectively, and extend from this wall towards the passageway over a length substantially equal to that of the roof or slightly lower. The shelter thus forms a box placed on the ground, generally on a sidewalk, with at minus one open face oriented either towards the passageway of vehicles, either in the opposite direction.

The orientation of the shelter relative to the prevailing winds is determined by the orientation of the passageway, the width of a sidewalk generally not allowing another provision. So it happens in some cases that the shelter is facing prevailing winds and does not offer little or almost no protection when it rains and the wind is strong.

The object of the present invention is in particular to provide a simple, effective and economical solution to this problem.

To this end, it offers urban furniture forming a shelter, intended for be installed on the edge of a transport vehicle passageway and comprising at least one rear vertical wall, a roof extending forward from the rear wall and possibly at least one wall vertical lateral extending from the rear wall towards the front, characterized in what it includes additional means of protection against bad weather, these means extending rearward from said wall back.

When the shelter according to the invention is installed on a sidewalk along of a vehicle passage lane and that it is oriented substantially facing prevailing winds, people using the shelter can place themselves behind the rear wall of this shelter, under the additional means of protection, and are then protected from the prevailing winds.

In a preferred embodiment, the means additional protection includes at least one extension of the roof of the shelter and this extension can be supported by beams substantially horizontal of a framework which also carries the rest of the roof and the aforementioned walls.

Les moyens supplémentaires de protection peuvent comprendre également une ou deux parois verticales latérales qui s'étendent vers l'arrière depuis la paroi arrière précitée, à une extrémité ou aux deux extrémités respectivement de celle-ci.Additional means of protection may include also one or two vertical side walls which extend towards the rear from the aforementioned rear wall, at one or both ends ends respectively thereof.

In this case, the people at the back of the shelter are protected from headwinds and blowing winds three-quarter forward.

Advantageously, a passage is formed in the rear wall of the shelter to allow a person to pass from one side and the other from this wall, while remaining sheltered. This passage is formed for example at near one end of the rear wall of the shelter.

In general, the invention offers almost complete protection against the weather whatever the orientation of the shelter, by the layout of the vehicle passageway, relative to the winds dominant.

People who use the shelter are thus protected from the wind and rain effectively, with a simple modification of a existing equipment and without inconveniently increasing the space requirement ground.

  • la figure 1 est une vue schématique de dessus d'une voie de passage de véhicules, dont un trottoir est équipé d'un abri ;
  • la figure 2 est une vue schématique de côté d'un abri selon l'invention ;
  • les figures 3 et 4 sont des vues de face et de dessus respectivement de l'abri de la figure 2;
The invention will be better understood and other characteristics, details and advantages thereof will appear more clearly on reading the description which follows, given by way of example with reference to the appended drawings in which:
  • Figure 1 is a schematic top view of a vehicle passageway, a sidewalk is equipped with a shelter;
  • Figure 2 is a schematic side view of a shelter according to the invention;
  • Figures 3 and 4 are front and top views respectively of the shelter of Figure 2;
  • Figures 5 and 6 are front views and from above respectively of an alternative embodiment of this shelter.

A track 10 of passage of vehicles, comprising a sidewalk 12 on which is installed a shelter 14 of the "bus shelter" type, which is located between the roadway and buildings and constructions 16.

Because the width of the sidewalk 12 does not generally allow other arrangements, shelter 14 is installed parallel to track 10 and can be oriented towards prevailing winds whose directions are indicated by the arrows 18 in figure 1. The people who are in the shelter 14 are then poorly protected against rain in strong winds, such as already indicated in the above.

The shelter according to the invention, an example of which is shown schematically in Figures 2, 3 and 4, overcomes this disadvantage thanks to additional means of protection added to the existing shelter.

This shelter comprises a roof 20 formed by a front part 22 which extends forward from a rear vertical wall 26, and two walls vertical lateral 28, 30 which extend forward from the wall rear vertical 26, at the ends thereof, one 28 of these walls side being formed essentially by a display box.

A row of seats or a bench 32 can be mounted inside from the shelter, under the front part 22 of the roof and along the rear wall 26.

The rear wall 26 and the side wall 30 are in this example of realization formed by glass plates supported by a frame consisting of vertical uprights 34, two or three in number, and substantially horizontal beams on which the roof is fixed 20. The rear wall 26 comprises for example three glass plates 36 juxtaposed and assembled together by fasteners 38 (Figure 3). The side wall 30 is also formed of a glass plate while the other side wall 28 is formed of the display case in which are provided means for hanging posters, transparent means for protection and recovery of these posters and lighting means.

Depending on the case, the display unit can be either on the side right of the shelter as shown in the drawings, either on the left side, or although the shelter may not include a display box, its walls side being then formed of glass plates.

Additional means of protection include minus a rear portion 24 of the roof formed by an extension of the front part 22 and carried by horizontal beams forming part of the aforementioned framework.

Depending on the direction of the prevailing winds relative to the rear wall 36, it may be useful to associate a rear side wall 40 with the rear part 24 of the roof, in the extension of one of the walls side 28, 30 above, or two rear side walls which are at the ends of the rear vertical wall 26 in the extension of the two side walls 28, 30 which extend forward.

As shown schematically in Figure 2, a no one can take shelter either in the front part of the shelter or in their rear part as the wind blows from the rear as indicated by the arrow 42 or from the front as indicated by arrow 44.

The variant embodiment shown in Figures 5 and 6 allows to facilitate the passage of a person from the front part to the rear part of the shelter and vice versa without this person having to leave the protection supplied by the roof and by the vertical side walls of the shelter. For this, a passage opening P is formed in the vertical wall rear 22, for example at one of its ends.

In the variant embodiment shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, it is the glass plate 36 which is in the vicinity of the box display 28 which is deleted and which constitutes this opening of passage P.

On comprend donc qu'il est relativement simple et peu coûteux de passer d'un abri existant du type "abribus" à un abri selon l'invention, en modifiant les dimensions de la toiture 20 et en adaptant l'ossature au support de la partie arrière 24 de la toiture et des éventuelles parois latérales 40.We therefore understand that it is relatively simple and inexpensive to move from an existing shelter of the "bus shelter" type to a shelter according to the invention, by modifying the dimensions of the roof 20 and adapting the framework to support for the rear part 24 of the roof and any walls side 40.
