Abstract

Durch den Einsatz einer bezüglich ihrer Pumprichtung umkehrbaren Kühlmittelpumpe (11), welche in einem ausgewählten Betriebsbereich der Brennkraftmaschine (10) über Signale einer Steuerungseinrichtung (26) derart angesteuert wird, dass das zwischen Kühlmitteleinlass (24) und Kühlmittelauslass (14) der Brennkraftmaschine (10) befindliche Kühlmittelvolumen alternierend aus der Brennkraftmaschine (10) heraus- und hineingepumpt wird, kann eine schnelle und gleichmäßige Erwärmung der Brennkraftmaschine (10) sichergestellt werden. Dies ist insbesondere beim Kaltstart und beim Warmlauf der Brennkraftmaschine von Bedeutung.
