- Printing unit of a rotary printing press, having an image-transfer cylinder (02; 07) having at least two channels (14; 16; 17; 18) to receive one or more printing blankets (09), which channels are arranged to be offset from one another in the circumferential direction, having a printing-surface cylinder (03; 08) which is arranged to co-operate with the image-transfer cylinder (02; 07) as a pair of cylinders (01; 06), and having an impression cylinder which co-operates with the image-transfer cylinder (02; 07) and is different from a second image-transfer cylinder, characterised in that the image-transfer cylinder (02; 07) has three printing blankets (09) which are arranged next to one another in the longitudinal direction of the image-transfer cylinder (02; 07) and each over approximately its entire circumference and whose ends are arranged to be alternately offset from one another by approximately 180° in the circumferential direction, in that the printing blankets (09) are each constructed in multilayer form, having a backing plate (21) and a layer (22) connected to the backing plate (21) and the channels (14; 16; 17; 18)in the image-transfer cylinder (02; 07) have, in the region of the circumferential surface, a gap (29) whose width (b29) in the circumferential direction is from 1 to 5 mm, and in that the printing-surface cylinder (03; 08) which co-operates with the image-transfer cylinder (02; 07) has two channels (12; 13) which are offset from one another in the circumferential direction by approximately 180° and which, for at least part of their extent in the longitudinal direction of the printing-surface cylinder (03; 08) are arranged one behind the other in the circumferential direction when seen in a cross-section taken perpendicularly to the axis of rotation.
- Printing unit according to claim 1, characterised in that the printing blankets (09) are arranged in different channels (14; 16; 17; 18) with their ends offset from one another in the circumferential direction.
- Printing unit according to claim 1, characterised in that the circumference of the barrel of the image-transfer cylinder (02; 07) corresponds to at least two landscape or portrait newspaper pages.
- Printing unit according to claim 1, characterised in that the width of the barrel of the image-transfer cylinder (02; 07) approximately corresponds to six landscape or portrait newspaper pages.
- Printing unit according to claim 1, characterised in that in the region of the circumferential surface, the channel (14; 16; 17; 18) in the image-transfer cylinder (03; 08) has a gap (29) whose width (b29) in the circumferential direction is more than twice the thickness of one of the ends (23; 24) of the printing blanket (09) and is in the range of between 1 mm and 5 mm and in particular is equal to or less than 3 mm.
- Printing unit according to claim 1, characterised in that the printing blanket (09) is constructed as a rubber blanket (09).
- Printing unit according to claim 1, characterised in that ratio of the circumference of the image-transfer cylinder (02; 07) to that of the printing-surface cylinder (03; 08) is a whole number.
- Printing unit according to claim 1, characterised in that at least one of the channels (14; 16; 17; 18) in the image-transfer cylinder (02; 07) rolls in the region of a channel (12; 13) in the circumference of the printing-surface cylinder (03; 08).
- Printing unit according to claim 1, characterised in that the printing-surface cylinder (03;08) which co-operates with the image-transfer cylinder (02; 07) has two channels (12; 13) arranged one behind the other in the circumferential direction.
- Printing unit according to claim 1, characterised in that the channels (12; 13; 14; 16; 17; 18) are arranged to be evenly spaced in the circumferential direction.
- Printing unit according to claim 1, characterised in that each channel (14; 16; 17; 18) in the image-transfer cylinder (02; 07) has at least one holding means (26) for the printing blanket (09).
- Printing unit according to claim 1, characterised in that the circumference of the barrel of the printing-surface cylinder (03; 08) corresponds to at least two landscape or portrait newspaper pages.
- Printing unit according to claim 1, characterised in that the image-transfer cylinder (02; 07) and the printing-surface cylinder (03; 08) are of the same circumference.
