Definitions

  • the invention relates to a system for automatic personal monitoring in the home environment, using sensors for detecting characteristic parameters, which are fed to a monitoring center, which alerts an alarm center, in particular a service provider if necessary.
  • WO 94/20939 describes a system in which a motion detector is coupled to a timed alarm switch which masks typical rest periods in order to detect a missed motion signal within a pre-planned time period which may indicate a possible movement or unconsciousness of the monitored person To trigger an alarm.
  • WO 99/06979 describes a device in which microphones or location or motion detectors are provided. Either an alarm can be triggered via the microphone by entering special codewords, but this is completely unsuitable for many monitoring cases, or a location and motion detector with a downstream evaluation program determines whether a detected person has not moved for a certain period of time ,
  • GB 2 306 275 A shows an acoustic or temperature signals sounding baby monitor, but because of its special focus on the monitoring of infants for the monitoring of people in their home environment, whether they behave "normal" is not suitable.
  • EP 1 071 055 a system for automatic personal surveillance in the home environment using sensors for detecting characteristic parameters, which are fed to a monitoring center, known. If necessary, the monitoring center alerts an alarm center, in particular a service provider.
  • the sensors detect a plurality of regularly used or operated domestic devices (also measuring devices).
  • the sensor data is personalized and automatically forwarded to the monitoring center, which evaluates the incoming data using an expert system with predetermined rules.
  • the invention is therefore the object of a system for automatic personal monitoring in the home environment of the type mentioned in such a way that it is able to easily and without expensive installations to recognize the everyday use behavior of these people, without this in any case Must cooperate and without it is only about the detection of extreme situations such as unconsciousness or the like, and at the same time the confidentiality of the personal data can be guaranteed.
  • the invention provides that the sensors detect a plurality of regularly used or actuated domestic devices and that the sensor data are personalized and automatically forwarded to a first service provider, the incoming data with encrypted personal data to the actual Forwarding processing service provider, which evaluates them using an expert system with predetermined rules.
  • the sensors according to the invention in the first place usual household appliances, for example, the opening and Closing the refrigerator door or turning on / off the cooker, dishwasher, coffee machine, TV or toilet flush.
  • the switching on of light switches, even with a spatial resolution, the opening and closing of doors, shutters or the use of the phone can be monitored via the present invention to be used device sensors.
  • each sensor message is automatically forwarded to the control center. It is easier if the sensors and / or the domestic forwarding station in which the signals of all the sensors of the apartment converge, the sensor data, in particular the frequency of operation of a device, compared with predetermined data and forwarded only in case of deviations to the center.
  • the data analysis of the sensor data may specify a fixed value by the user. For example, opening less than one refrigerator per day may automatically trigger an alarm.
  • a learning system is used as the expert system, which learns the behavior of the monitored person and only triggers alarms in the event of deviations.
  • Such methods exist, for example, for the detection of mobile phone or credit card misuse.
  • the system can also generate alarms of various urgency, eg. Depending on how likely a critical condition is. In the absence of signals from all monitored devices over a certain period of time - including, for example, the absence of devices of the mattress sensor at night - is likely to be a critical case, while the mere non-switching of the stove with otherwise normal sensor messages certainly a possibly uncritical disorder in the Behavior and health of the monitored person implies.
  • alarms of varying urgency can be forwarded to any location via fax, e-mail, SMS, or the like, and can range from a control call to the notification of a home care service to the immediate alerting of an emergency medical center.
  • the central split is distributed to two service providers, one of which the incoming data with encrypted personal data to the actual processing service provider forwards and also takes over the connection to the alarm center.
  • a user database with personal data of the monitored person, contact addresses, care services, pseudonyms or the like, which is then located at a service provider and a sensor database for evaluating the incoming sensor data.
  • the first service provider managing the user database generates the pseudonym and forwards its reachability and the pseudonym to the second service provider who then performs the actual monitoring but does not know the identity of the person concerned. in the In case of alarm, the second service provider sends a message with the pseudonym to the first service provider. This determines the associated person and starts an adequate response such as the notification of relatives, care services or the like, without even having access to the data of the person concerned.
  • the advantage of the system according to the invention is firstly that no active cooperation of the person concerned is required at all.
  • the system has the advantage that the absolute confidentiality can be maintained.
  • the rate of false alarms decreases because, for example, a person concerned has forgotten to call, and finally the system according to the invention offers a very cost-effective use of existing infrastructures.
  • the center is distributed over two different service providers and comprises a user database 7 with personal data of the first service provider supervised person, contact addresses, nursing services, aliases or the like.
  • the data provided with a corresponding pseudonym data are forwarded to the sensor database 8 at the second service provider, this sensor database is coupled to an expert system 9 to evaluate the incoming sensor data.
  • the evaluation result is reported back from the sensor database 8 to the user database 7, which in turn - since only they know which patient is behind the anonymously evaluated data - trigger different alarms, for example, they can start a request to the monitored person (callback 10) or call relatives (forwarding station 11), they can also send a nurse 12 an alarm message or, if necessary, notify the emergency doctor center 13 directly.
  • a whole range of other different alarm levels are possible, as well as a variety of other sensors can be included in the system instead of the four device sensors shown. This may include sensors on the consumption data in the respective household such as water consumption, electricity consumption or gas consumption.
  • the hearth sensor can send a message to the local forwarding station each time it is turned on.
  • This local forwarding station handles the signal transmission for all sensors in the household. Only the forwarding station must be able to handle remote communication, all other devices can hang over a local radio link (eg DECT) at the forwarding station.
  • a local radio link eg DECT
  • the hearth sensor can send a message to the local forwarding station each time it is turned on.
  • This local forwarding station handles the signal transmission for all sensors in the household. Only the forwarding station must be able to handle remote communication, all other devices can hang over a local radio link (eg DECT) at the forwarding station.
  • a local radio link eg DECT
  • the senor for example by the stove electronics itself, knows how often it must or should be turned on. He then contacts the head office if he was not turned on often enough. Although this lowers the communication costs, it is expensive on the other hand because of the correspondingly expensive sensor electronics.
