    characterised in that the recess (12, 12'), which accommodates the cone (11, 11'), is so dimensioned that it is larger, when viewed with respect to the protruding direction of the control element (6) or of the resilient element (5) from the securing mechanism (13), than when viewed at right angles to the protruding direction.
  2. Apparatus according to claim 1, characterised in that the control element (6) is in the form of a bimetallic strip (7) known per se, which is disposed with its securing end on the securing mechanism (13) and is provided, at its pivotal end (8), with the recess which accommodates the cone (11) of the transmitting element (10).
  3. Apparatus according to claim 2, characterised in that the resilient element (5), which co-operates with the moving contact (4), is in the form of an elongate contact spring which, at its pivotable free end (9), is connected to the pivotal end (8) of the bimetallic strip (7) and is provided with a recess (12') for the accommodation of a cone (11') of the transmitting element (10).
  4. Apparatus according to one of the preceding claims 1 - 3, characterised in that the recess (12, 12') in the control element (6) and/or in the resilient element (5) is in the form of an elongate slot.
  5. Apparatus according to one of the preceding claims 1 - 3, characterised in that the recesses (12, 12') are in the form of a rectangular slot.
  6. Apparatus according to one of the preceding claims 1 - 3, characterised in that the recesses (12, 12') are in the form of an ellipse.
  7. Apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the difference between the dimensions of the recess (12, 12') along the longitudinal axis and the dimensions of the recess (12, 12') along the transverse axis of the recess (12, 12') or respectively, in the case of a rectangular slot, the difference between length D and width d of the recess (12, 12') is greater than a possible deviation in the manufacturing tolerance of the cone or cones (11, 11') of the transmitting element (10) from the circular cross-section.
  8. Apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the cone faces cover the lateral edges (25) of the recess (12, 12') in a substantially punctiform manner.
  9. Apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the substantially opposed, punctiform covering of the lateral edges (25) of the recess (12, 12') by the cone faces is designed to slide along the lateral edges.
  10. Apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the lateral edges (25) of the recess (12, 12') are in the form of sliding edges, more especially they are smooth.
  11. Apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the ratio of length D to width d of the recess (12, 12') or respectively the ratio between the dimensions along longitudinal axis D and transverse axis d of the recess conforms roughly to the formula D = d cos α
