Definitions
- the invention relates to an electrical resistor according to the Preamble of claim 1 and a method for manufacturing such resistances. It is especially for Current measurement used, also for surface mounting (SMD technology) suitable low-resistance components or shunts.
- SMD technology surface mounting
- Precision measuring resistors of this type which can withstand high loads if required must be, and their resistance values typically in Milliohms range for example between 0.5 m ⁇ and 10 m ⁇ can (but in other cases also higher or still can be smaller), consist of one of the known for this and proven alloys such as B. CuMnNi.
- the connectors for surface mounting of the resistor are made of metal high conductivity such as copper in particular.
- the invention has for its object the manufacture of Resistors of the type under consideration in large numbers to allow as little effort as possible.
- connection parts of the resistor therefore consist of sheath pieces, which are formed by welded tape or pipe material can be and the usually cylindrical resistance element preferably tubular over its entire circumference enclose.
- the resistance expediently consists of drawn Laminated wire, the sheath between the connecting parts is removed, so the coat is just out the spaced-apart connecting parts.
- the resistors described here are not only very simple from z. B. continuously supplied laminated wire can be produced, but also mechanically very stable and electrical highly resilient.
- the desired can be in their manufacture Resistance value particularly easy in a wide range can be set, for example by turning off the resistance elements to an appropriate diameter.
- the production of the laminated wire used according to the invention can be useful in the for welding electrodes in a known manner (DE 197 12 817 C2, DE 198 10 342 A1).
- a metallically bright cleaned is first Band of copper or a copper alloy continuously formed into a tube and by a common welding process such as TIG, plasma, induction or laser welding to the closed Welded pipe.
- Metallic bare core introduced, which consists of a compact Wire or a multilayer wire made of several metals or Alloys can exist.
- the copper jacket can be shaped be wrapped around the core either by a spiral or is profiled into a tube with a longitudinal seam.
- sheath and core become mechanical to the composite wire plated.
- the composite wire thus produced can then to the required final dimensions in the usual way to be pulled.
- the resistor shown in Fig. 1 contains an elongated one Resistor element 1 of the illustrated graded Rod shape made of a known resistance alloy such as CuNi, in particular CuMnNi, with a cylindrical middle part 2 between two cylindrical end parts 3 of larger diameter. Length and diameter of the middle part are according to the desired Dimensioned resistance value.
- the two end parts 3 are each with a tubular jacket 4 same axial Length made of electrically conductive metal like copper.
- the jacket pieces 4 are mechanically fixed to the end parts 3 plated and can be used for even better mutual connection also be alloyed to the resistance element, such as will be explained later.
- the resistance element 1 of an insulating body 6 for example made of heat-resistant Plastic material enclosed, the at least one flat outer surface with which the surface mount resistor, can therefore be placed on a circuit board as an SMD component is.
- the insulating body 6 is schematically as a cap recognizable with a square circumference.
- the flat outer surface 7 of the insulating body 6 facilitates the placement of the component for surface mounting on the circuit board on the intended Connection location because the insulating body rolls away the Resistance prevented. It is useful if the outside surface 7 as shown with the circumference of the jacket pieces 4 aligned, but other arrangements are possible.
- An expedient embodiment of an insulating body 6 usable one-piece cap 6 ' is shown in Fig. 3. It has a shape corresponding to the central part 2 in FIG. 1 cylindrical recess 8, in the one outer surface 7 'introduces a longitudinal slot 9 which is dimensioned so wide, that the cap 6 'is pressed onto the middle part 2 while spreading can be.
- the drawn layered composite wire is then at a Annealed temperature that is at least as high as the recrystallization temperature the resistance alloy (for a certain suitable CuMnNi alloy z. B. in the order of magnitude of 600 ° C). This forms in the boundary layer between the resistance alloy and the copper cladding a diffusion layer out.
- the diffusion annealing turns the two Metals joined together like alloys.
- the laminated wire is again in a drawing machine on a small one Diameter drawn.
- This drawing process can a. for hardening serve, since wire from the metals mentioned as an example in particular may be too soft to twist off.
- the Laminated wire, the cross section through the end parts 3 corresponds to the jacket pieces 4, into individual pieces with the Split the length of the resistor according to FIG. 1.
- a convenient way to remove the middle part of the jacket and for cutting is turning and then parting off on a suitable commercially available automatic lathe.
- the laminated wire is this lathe in fed continuously.
- the Middle part 2 of the resistance element 1 to one of the desired Resistance value turned corresponding diameter, the is smaller than the diameter of the laminated wire core and thus the end parts 3, as can be seen in FIG. 1.
- the insulating body 6 is applied.
- the plastic cap 6 'in the direction of the two Arrows in Fig. 3 from a position parallel to the axis of the resistance element 1 clamped on the middle part 2, which also can be done automatically.
- the finished resistor is placed before or after the application of the Insulator 6 annealed (or aged) to him in the to stabilize electrically in the usual way with resistance wire.
- the resulting resistances shown in FIG. 5 flat shape can easily and in particular without the Plastic cap of the embodiment of FIG. 1 as an SMD component be used.
