  6. An installation according to claim 5, characterised in that the at least one guide strip (56) and the at least one braking strip (57) project in approximately diametrically opposed manner from the rail sections (21) .

An installation according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the running surfaces of the rail sections (21) for the running rollers (41) or for the guide rollers (42) of the carriages (4) are provided with butt joints oriented obliquely relative to the running direction or extending in stepped manner.
  8. An installation according to one of claims 1 to 7, characterised in that the mutually associated end faces of the rail sections (24) take the form of mating components (26) which are welded to the ends of the rail sections (21).
