Definitions
- the invention relates to a connector with contacts on a circuit board etc. can be attached, a housing, an insulating body, which is arranged in the housing and carries the contacts, and at least a locking part, by means of which a complementary connector, which can be provided with a cable, locked to the connector can be.
- the fixed connector that directly can be attached to the circuit board or to a housing, etc.
- the contacts of the fixed connector are usually with the circuit board connected, for example by pressing and soldering or by Solder on.
- the complementary connector can connected, which is referred to as a loose connector and is used in particular to connect in cables to the fixed connector.
- the fixed one Connector provided with the locking part, which in particular as Mother or can be designed as a locking hook.
- the loose connector is then provided with a screw or with complementary locking hooks, so that it can be locked to the fixed connector, whereby the two connectors cannot be unintentionally disconnected can, for example when pulling on the cable.
- Tractive forces are via the screw and the nut or the locking hook on the fixed connector and from this to the circuit board or transfer the housing wall.
- the object of the invention is therefore to provide a connector create, in the event of any tensile forces exerted on him are not derived from the contacts.
- This task is performed by a connector of the type mentioned solved, which is characterized in that the locking part with at least a hook is provided, which the locking part on the circuit board etc. can anchor, and relative to the housing and the insulating body is slidable between two stops.
- the locking part engages So directly on the component, for example on the circuit board, in which the Tensile forces are introduced from the loose connector, so that the contacts are not required for power transmission. Since also the locking part relative to the housing and the insulating part of the fixed connector is displaceable, it reliably prevents tensile forces occurring must be accommodated by the housing and the insulating part before they can be transferred to the locking part.
- the locking part has a sleeve with an internal thread
- a spreader pin which is received in the sleeve, and two hooks by the spreader pin from a press-in position into an anchoring position can be spread.
- a loose connector with screws record which can then be screwed into the sleeve to the to fasten the two connectors together. Tractive forces that occur are then directly from the loose connector via the screw in the locking part and derived from this in the circuit board without that the contacts of the fixed connector are loaded.
- the one with locking hooks or locking levers is provided, can instead of the sleeve on the locking part a correspondingly adapted design can be used so that the loose connector can be attached to the fixed connector and tensile forces occurring directly via the locking part in the circuit board be derived.
- the Spreader pin has a press section with a press fit in the Locking part is added.
- This configuration is in terms of Assembly particularly advantageous.
- the spreader pin only needs to be in the locking part be pressed in, in which it then holds by friction; so he is automatically captured in the locking part.
- the pressing section is preferably a cone, the tip of which is the hook is facing.
- This configuration ensures a comparatively low level Friction when the spreader pin is pushed into the sleeve because of the cone surface the press-in facilitates, but increases the friction with one possible movement in the opposite direction, since then the larger one Base of the cone with a comparatively sharp edge at the transition facing the cone surface in the direction of movement.
- each Hook is provided with a predetermined breaking point.
- This breaking point can be dimensioned such that the maximum pulling force that can be carried by the hook is less than the holding force exerted on the hook by the printed circuit board.
- the locking part is preferably provided with a bead, the one forms the first stop, as well as with a paragraph that a second stop forms.
- the locking part can be inserted into the connector until his paragraph touches a complementary paragraph. Subsequently the bead is then formed, for example by upsetting the sleeve of the locking part. Then the locking part is captive on Connector attached.
- the locking part preferably has a holding section with a square one Cross section on.
- This holding section ensures that one on the Locking part applied torque, as is the case with Screwing a nut of the loose connector into the sleeve of the locking part can occur, recorded by the connector itself is and does not have to be introduced into the circuit board by means of the hooks. This could cause the hooks to slip in the corresponding position Opening of the circuit board come so that this opening is damaged could be and the required holding force in the circuit board would no longer be guaranteed.
- the housing has a Protective collar made of metal, which is provided with tabs that part of the insulating body to grip around the protective collar on the insulating body fasten.
- the protective collar can be particularly easily by means of the tabs Be attached to the insulating body. Because the protective collar is a has a comparatively large wall thickness, four tabs are usually sufficient, that can be crimped during assembly.
- the housing has a trim part that is connected to each other by two opposite clamping edges is provided, one of which one collar of the protective collar and the other abuts the insulating body.
- the trim part can be put over the protective collar and then be attached to the insulating body, for example by bending of clamping projections. These clamping projections can be used for contacting serve a ground conductor of a circuit board. This way, with little Earned a shielded connector.
- the bead of the locking part lies on the collar of the Protective collar and the paragraph of the locking part is against a paragraph in the insulating body. So there is a comparatively as a stop for the bead massive element available, namely the one made of metal Protective collar.
- FIGS Connector As an example here is one Pin header described with 25 contact pins, which are provided with press-in contacts is. Shielding is also provided.
- the essence of the invention namely the type of attachment of the connector to, for example, the PCB, but can also be used for different connectors which, for example, have contacts instead of the press-in pins, that can be soldered (SMT) or that have no shielding.
- the connector has an insulating body 10, in which overall 25 contacts 12 are attached. Each contact has a contact pin 14 and a press-in pin 16. The press-in pin is intended for use in a corresponding opening of a circuit board to be pressed.
- each Retaining recess 18 ends in a paragraph 20, which is the transition to a Receiving opening 22 represents.
- Each receiving opening 22 has a circular one Cross section and extends to the side of the insulating body 10 on which the contact pins 14 are arranged.
- a protective collar lies on the insulating body 10 on the side of the contact pins 14 24, which is made of metal.
- the protective collar 24 surrounds the Contact pins 14 and is located on the insulating body 10 by means of a collar 26 at that also the area of the insulating body surrounding the receiving openings 22 10 covers.
- the collar is 26 in the area of the receiving openings provided with appropriate passage openings 28.
- To attach the Protective collar 24 on the insulating body 10 serve four tabs 30 (see in particular Figure 8), which are integrally formed with the collar 26 and the Grip around the edge of the insulating body 10. The tabs 30 can after Placing the protective collar 24 simply crimped onto the insulating body to securely attach the protective collar to the insulating body.
- the insulating body 10 is further provided with a trim part 32 which covers the four outer surfaces of the insulating body through which the contacts 12 do not pass through, as well as part of the surface of the insulating body, through which the contact pins 14 pass.
- the trim part 32 is formed in one piece from a blank that has a section for covering has the surface of the insulating body with a cutout is provided for the passage of the protective collar 24, and four side surfaces, which are bent by 90 ° in relation to the first surface. To this The tub-like shape of the trim part is created in this way.
- the trim part 32 is on its edge, which with the bottom of the insulating body completes, from which the press-in pins 16 emerge with clamping projections 34 provided.
- the clamping projections 34 are after the Cover part 32 is placed on the insulating body so that the cutout for the protective collar 24 surrounding edge of the trim part on Collar 26 of the protective collar rests, flanged so that it is on the underside of the insulating body 10.
- the clamping projections 34 which are slightly above the Projecting underside of the insulating body 10 can be used to contact a Ground wire of a circuit board serve so that the of the trim part 32 and the protective collar 24 formed shield is grounded.
- Two locking parts 36 are arranged in the insulating body 10. Every locking part consists of a sleeve 38 which over part of its length is provided with an internal thread and one arranged in the receiving opening 22 Section, a holding portion 40, which is a square Has cross-section and is arranged in the holding recess 18, as well two hooks 42, which proceed from the holding section 40 on the of extend the side facing away from the sleeve.
- an expansion pin 44 is arranged, which has an enlarged print head 46 has whose outer diameter is smaller than the inner diameter the sleeve 38, and a pressing section 48 which is designed as a cone and is received with an interference fit in an opening that the holding portion 40 of the locking part 36 passes through.
- the spreader pin 44 is with its end facing away from the printhead 46, which has a tip, arranged between the two hooks 42.
- the front end of the expansion pin 44 in a channel between the two hooks 42 added so that they approximate each other are.
- the spreader pin can be in an anchoring position be moved (see Figure 4), in which the front End of the expansion pin 44 passes between the two hooks 42, so that these are spread outwards.
- Each hook has a reduced cross-section at the transition to the body of the locking part.
- This reduced cross section forms a predetermined breaking point 43 and is dimensioned so that the hook already at Tear off tensile forces from the locking part, where damage the circuit board on which the hooks are attacking cannot yet occur.
- the anchoring part 36 is slidable in the holding recess 18 and the Receiving opening 22 of the insulating body 10 is arranged, it against Falling out is secured.
- a bead 50 is formed on the sleeve 38 abuts the edge of the passage opening 28 in the collar 26 of the protective collar 24. In this way, two end positions of the locking part 36 given.
- the assembly of the locking part 36 on the connector can be done in the following Way are made: First, the spreader pin 44 so far pressed into the locking part 36 until the pressing section 48 with a Press fit is set inside the holding portion 40. In this State, the expansion pin 44 is held captive in the locking part. Subsequently the locking part 36 with the expansion pin inserted therein 44 inserted from the side of the press-in pins 16 into the holding recess 18, until the sleeve 38 on the side of the contact pins 14 from the insulating body 10 exits. Then there after the protective collar 24 the insulating body 10 is attached, the bead 50 is formed on the sleeve 38, for example by local upsetting. Alternatively, one could two-part sleeve is used, the second part of which is attached, after the locking part is inserted into the insulating body. It could also the previously formed bead through the collar 26 of the protective collar 24 are pushed through.
- the connector is ready for Mounting on a circuit board.
- FIGS to 15 wherein in Figures a) is a view of the in the insulating body 10 recorded anchoring part 36 and one in Figures b) View of the contacts 12 received in the insulating body 10 shown are.
- the connector is connected its press-in pins 16 into corresponding openings on the printed circuit board 52 used so that it is provisionally fixed.
- the hooks 42 of the Locking part 16 into a suitable locking opening 54.
- a press-in tool 56 is lowered, initially by means of a spring-loaded Press-in sleeve 58 onto the sleeve 38 of the locking part 36 presses so that the hooks 42 almost completely through the circuit board 52nd be pushed through (see Figure 12).
- the bead 50 lies on the collar 26 of the protective collar 24.
- the press tool 56 lowered further until it rests on the insulating body 10. That remains the locking member 36 in its previous position so that the press-in sleeve 58 is displaced relative to the pressing tool 56, whereby the Spring preload increased.
- the press tool 56 further to the circuit board 52 are moved over the insulating body 10 the press-in pins 16 pressed into the circuit board 52.
- the insulating body 10 is further on the Printed circuit board 52 so that the press-in pins 16 completely into the circuit board 52 are pressed in.
- This relative displacement is used to the spreader pin 44 completely by means of a mandrel 60 with a suitable length to push into the locking part 36 so that the two hooks 42 can be spread.
- the two hooks 42 are ready spread that they no longer retracted through the locking opening 54 can be.
- the spreader pin 44 is now both by friction in the area of the pressing section 48 and in the area of the two hooks 42 reliably held in its spread position, so that it too cannot loosen in the event of vibrations, which would release the hooks.
- FIG. 16 shows the pressed connector, on which a complementary, loose connector 62 is attached.
- This is completely in the Protective collar 24 inserted and has a screw 64, which is in the sleeve 38 of the locking part 36 is screwed.
- the tensile forces exerted by the screw 64 have caused the locking member 36 to retract so far was until the hook 42 with its paragraph on the bottom of the circuit board 52 concerns.
- the insulating body 10 has relative to the circuit board 52 not moved; this is the result of the displaceability of the locking part 36 relative to the insulating body 10.
- the tensile forces applied and others Tractive forces, for example, from one to the loose connector 62 connected cables originate, are therefore not in the contacts 12 and then only introduced into the circuit board 52, but directly from the Locking part 36 without the contacts 12 being significantly loaded.
