Claims (15)

  1. A controlled current distribution device of the type comprising, combined in the same casing (12), a power outlet socket (18) and a switch (20) electrically interconnected so that the application of voltage to the power outlet socket is dependent on the position of the switch, said socket comprising a lateral groove (29) oriented in the direction of insertion of a corresponding plug comprising a lug (30) capable of being engaged into and sliding in said groove, a locking mechanism being arranged between said switch and said groove to co-operate with such a lug in such a way as to make the possibility of connecting or disconnecting such a plug dependent on a position of said switch in which said power outlet socket is without voltage, said locking mechanism comprising a blocking element (36) movable along a transverse path with respect to said groove and permitting it to co-operate with such a lug to lock such a lug in position, characterised in that said blocking element is attached to a cable (39) installed and guided in said casing, said cable being coupled to a movable element of said switch.
  2. A device according to claim 1 characterised in that said cable (39) is installed in a loop in said casing.
  3. A device according to claim 1 or claim 2 characterised in that said cable is installed in a guide track (40) defined in said casing.
  4. A device according to claim 3 characterised in that said blocking element comprises a tongue portion (49) capable of co-operating with a said plug lug and that said tongue portion is carried by a slider (50) installed in a straight groove forming part of said guide track.
  5. A device according to claim 4 characterised in that the two ends of the cable are attached to said slider (50) on respective sides thereof, thus closing said loop.
  6. A device according to claim 5 characterised in that said slider comprises two mutually facing hooks (56) to which the ends of said cable are respectively attached, said ends being provided with enlarged end portions respectively retained in said hooks.
  7. A device according to one of the preceding claims wherein said switch comprises an operating spindle (24) capped by an operating knob (19) characterised in that said operating knob comprises a hub (42) which is fixed in respect of rotation with said operating spindle and that said cable (39) is wound around said hub, being attached thereto at a point.
  8. A device according to claim 7 characterised in that said cable carries a pin (45) or the like engaged in a housing (46) defined at the periphery of said hub.
  9. A device according to one of claims 3 to 8 characterised in that it comprises an internal support (52) extending between said switch and said socket and that said guide track is in part formed by a recess defined in said support.
  10. A device according to claim 9 characterised in that said internal support is fixed against the inside face of a wall of said casing in such a way that said cable (39) is confined in a space defined by said recess on the one hand and said inside face on the other hand.
  11. A device according to claim 9 or claim 10 characterised in that said blocking member is mounted slidably in said internal support (52).
  12. A device according to one of the preceding claims characterised in that a resilient locking blade (60) is mounted in the vicinity of said blocking element and comprises a tongue disposed in line with said groove to be displaced by a said plug lug and a movable abutment (64) shaped and positioned to hold said blocking element in a position spaced from the path of said plug lug defined by said lateral groove, in which position said switch is open, said movable abutment moving away when said tongue is displaced by a said plug lug.
  13. A device according to claim 12 characterised in that a fixed abutment (66) is defined on said internal support at a location such that said blocking element is immobilised between said fixed and movable abutments when no plug is connected to said power outlet socket.
  14. A device according to one of claims 9 to 13 and claim 7 characterised in that said casing comprises a bottom carrying said switch (20) and a cover carrying said power outlet socket (18), said internal support and said operating knob (19), and that said operating knob is mounted rotatably in a cavity defined between said cover and said internal support.
  15. A device according to claim 14 characterised in that a pin (70) is fixed transversely to said operating spindle (24) and is inserted between two prolongations (71) of said internal support, and that said two prolongations define a slot (72), the position of which is such that removal of said cover (12) is possible only in a predetermined position of said switch, in which its electrical circuit is open.
