Definitions
- the invention relates to an internal combustion engine with cylinders in a cylinder crankcase. soft on a bottom of an oil pan and on a top of a cylinder head is completed with the cylinder head cover, being laterally in the cylinder crankcase a channel connecting the oil pan with the cylinder head is provided, which over a predetermined length by means of a channel wall from an interior of the cylinder crankcase is separated, according to the preamble of claim 1.
- EP 0 600 341 A1 describes a cylinder crankcase for an internal combustion engine ventilation channels arranged therein are known, these in multiple kinking Run from an oil pan over a resonance chamber to a cylinder head.
- this cylinder crankcase has the disadvantage that for different installation positions the engine can be provided with various cylinder crankcases must, since the disclosed arrangement of the ventilation channels only when inclined in one predetermined direction is functional.
- DE 40 33 844 A1 describes an internal combustion engine with a ventilation device for a crankcase is known, wherein a fresh air inlet opening of a balance weight the crankshaft is controlled and an outlet for the removal of consumer Gas from the crankcase also through a counterweight of the crankshaft is controlled.
- this ventilation system is complex and expensive.
- DE 35 42 900 A1 describes a ventilation system in an internal combustion engine, wherein Ends of a crankcase with spaces outside of bearing walls for a crankshaft are provided, with leakage gas from the rooms directly into a ventilation chamber for Separating at least a portion of the entrained oil is passed.
- the present invention is therefore based on the object of an internal combustion engine to provide the above type, overcoming the above disadvantages become.
- At least two channels are opposite on both sides are formed on the outside in the cylinder crankcase, on one of the oil pan facing away end of the channel wall a removable wall section is provided is that by removing this wall section, a connecting window between the interior of the cylinder crankcase and the channel is formed.
- the channels also have the advantage that the back-flowing oil on a crankshaft in the interior of the cylinder crankcase is passed so that there is no foaming of the oil flowing back through the crankshaft.
- the at least two channels are mirror-symmetrical with respect to a plane defined by the row of cylinders.
- Complete reflux of separated oil collected in the projection is achieved one in that the projection delimiting the common space with a predetermined Inclination in at least one channel part below the break-out wall section is continuously trained.
- FIG. 1 The preferred embodiment of an internal combustion engine according to the invention shown in FIG. 1 comprises a cylinder crankcase 10, a cylinder head 12 with a cylinder head cover 14 and an oil pan 16.
- the cylinder crankcase 10 includes i.a. a row of cylinders 18 and a crank chamber 20 with a crankshaft 22 mounted on bearing seats 21, wherein a bearing cap 24 is shown schematically.
- Oil 32 is in the oil pan and foamed oil 34.
- Fig. 1 With to the left inclined internal combustion engine expediently at least the wall section 36 broken out from right channel 29. As a result, the right channel 29 serves as a ventilation channel and if necessary, leads gas from the interior 20 through the window, which through the broken out wall section 36 is formed in the cylinder head 12.
- the left Channel 28 runs continuously down to the oil pan 16, so that in this oil from the Cylinder head 12 can flow into the oil pan 16 without being foamed by the crankshaft 22 to become.
- the wall section 36 can also be broken out on the left channel 28, whereby a passage window to the oil separator and Oil calming room or pulsation smoothing room is made. Then penetrates This lower window section 36 on the channel 28, if necessary, oil in the channel 28, this will but immediately entrained in the direction of the oil pan by a corresponding backflow in channel 28 and transported away.
- the Wall section 36 broken out of the left channel 28 and the function of the channels with respect. Venting and oil drainage is exactly the opposite. Since channels 28 and 29 are identical on both sides and are mirror-symmetrical, this cylinder crankcase 10 is merely by selecting the wall section 36 to be broken out for a conventional inclined one Installation of the internal combustion engine of up to 90 degrees in two different directions, namely to the right or left, suitable. In this way, a platform system is created which is a part effort for series production of different model types with different tendencies significantly reduced and thus the series production simplified and cheaper.
- the removable wall section 36 becomes direct in the formation of the cylinder crankcase, for example in gray cast iron or by means of Aluminum as a material for the cylinder crankcase, by a correspondingly designed Core trained.
- the respective course of crankcase gases and oil is included Arrows indicated in Fig. 1 accordingly.
- FIG. 2 shows the region of the breakable wall section 36 of channel 28 in an enlarged manner Presentation.
- the channel serves as a drainage channel for oil in Direction of arrow 38 or as a ventilation duct in direction of arrow 40.
- FIG. 3 shows a preferred development, for example, in a longitudinal section along the channel 28, so that the channel 28 is shown in Fig. 3 in supervision.
- a plurality of channels 28 are provided, which over a space 42 are connected to a smaller number of lower sections of the channel 28.
- the space 42 is formed by a projection 44 inside the channel 28 and slopes from the upper portions of channel 28 to the lower Portions of the channel 28. In this way, the projection 44 collects oil from the space 42 down, as indicated by arrows 46.
- the space 42 serves as an oil separator and the oil flowing off is in the channel 28 rising crankcase gases separated oil.
- FIG. 5 shows a preferred development in a representation analogous to FIG. 3.
- ribs 48 are conically shaped in the manner shown. 6 illustrates this in a Representation analogous to Fig. 4.
- the ribs form a collection point for, for example, deposited Oil 32 and collect this down over lower sections of the channel 28 into the oil pan 16.
- the removable wall section 36 can also be specified accordingly by the rib guide.
