Definitions
- connection terminals of the type used for example certain electrical appliances, and, in particular, certain electrical installation devices, such as switches, sockets or others, for connection to electrical conductors necessary for their service.
- connection terminals which generally comprises in an insulating body, two contact elements, one at less is in conductive material, namely, on the one hand, a fixed contact element, which is relatively rigid, and which, between two opposite walls, forms at least one cable entry, and, on the other hand, a mobile contact element, which comprises, obliquely, between the two walls of the fixed contact element, an elastically deformable clamping strip, this strip clamp being pivotally mounted relative to one of the walls of the fixed contact element, hereinafter simply called convenience support wall, and extending freely in door to false towards the other of these walls, hereinafter called simple convenience wall clamping, approaching this clamping wall as it moves away from cable entry.
- connection terminal For connecting, for example, a conductor electric, it suffices, in fact, to forcibly engage in the connection terminal the bare end of this conductor electric.
- this actuator is simply mounted movable in translation, like a slide.
- German patent No 36 37 316 it can also be mounted swivel, like a lever.
- this actuator acts to this end. pushing day on the clamping plate of the element mobile contact, and, under the effect of the reaction force then developed by it, it is constantly in demand elastically towards its closed position.
- this actuating member If, therefore, this actuating member is released, it systematically returns to the closed position, and likewise for the movable contact element.
- the organ is not a lever, but a cam eccentric, and, to allow the disconnection of a wire, i.e. for the passage in the open position of the element of movable contact, it acts in thrust on this contact element mobile, which implies a deformation of it.
- the present invention generally has for object a provision allowing on the contrary to avoid these disadvantages.
- connection terminal of the kind comprising, in a body insulator, two contact elements of which at least one is in conductive material, namely, on the one hand, an element of fixed contact, which is relatively rigid, and which between two opposite walls, forms at least one cable entry, and, on the other hand, a movable contact element, which comprises, in oblique, between the two walls of the fixed contact element, an elastically deformable clamping strip, this strip clamp being pivotally mounted relative to one of the walls of the fixed contact element, here called support wall, and extending freely cantilevered towards the other of these walls, here called the clamping wall, approaching this clamping wall as it moves away from the cable entry, with, at the disposal of the user, being accessible from outside the insulating body, an organ actuator, which is mounted movable relative to the element fixed contact, between two positions, one closed, the other opening, and from which it results, when it is in open position, that the movable contact element is itself in an open position for which the
- toggle transmission is meant here classic way, a mechanism which, by crossing elastic of a neutral point corresponding to the alignment momentary of three axes of articulation, blocks itself in a stable, but reversible position, by bracing, beyond of this alignment.
- any connection, or disconnection, an electrical conductor is found advantageously facilitated, whether it is a driver electric with flexible multi-strand conductive core, or is an electrical conductor with a rigid conductive core or semi-rigid.
- the actuator used is also able to act in pushing on the contact element mobile, for the passage of the latter from its open position to a closed position for which, in the absence of electrical conductor in cable entry, free end of its clamping lamella bears against the wall of tightening of the fixed contact element, and jointly the movable contact element is then able to hook onto the fixed contact element in this closed position, in so this closed position is also a stable position.
- connection terminal constitutes thus advantageously a bistable, which, when its element of movable contact is in the closed position, ready advantageously to an implementation analogous to that of automatic connection terminals, therefore suitable for everything especially if the electrical conductor is a electrical conductor with rigid or semi-rigid conductive core, and which, when its movable contact element is in position opening, facilitates connection or disconnection of the electrical conductor, lending itself then particularly if this electrical conductor is a electrical conductor with flexible, multi-strand conductive core.
- connection terminals 11 each specific to the connection of at least one electrical conductor 12, as shown schematically in broken lines in Figure 9.
- connection terminals 11 Only one of these connection terminals 11 will be described in the following.
- this connection terminal 11 comprises, in an insulating body 13, two contact elements 14, 15, which jointly form its active part 16, and of which at least one is of conductive material, namely, of a apart, a fixed contact element 14, which is relatively rigid, and which, between two opposite walls 17, 18, forms at minus a cable entry 19, for engaging at least one electrical conductor 12, and, on the other hand, an element of movable contact 15, which comprises, obliquely, between the two walls 17, 18 of the fixed contact element 14, a strip of elastically deformable clamping 20, this clamping strip 20 being pivotally mounted, according to the arrangements described in more detail later, relative to one of the walls 17, 18 of the fixed contact element 14, in this case its wall 17, said here for simple convenience, support wall, and extending freely cantilevered towards the other of these walls, in this case wall 18, said here for convenience clamping wall, approaching this clamping wall 18 as it moves away from the cable entry 19.
- the insulating body 13 can be an integral part of the switch housing 10, or constitute a part which, separate from this case, is duly secured to it.
- the fixed contact element 14 generally has a tubular configuration, with substantially cross section quadrangular, its support wall 17 and its clamping wall 18 being substantially parallel to each other and being connected to each other by side walls 21 which are attached to them substantially perpendicular.
- the set comes in one piece with a single steel blank suitably cut and folded, and its maintenance in tubular configuration is for example secured by stapling, a tab 22 coming from a single from the support wall 17 being for example recessed for do this in a complementary cutout 23 provided for this purpose in the immediately adjacent side wall 21.

- the second section 50 of the drive strip 45 extends on the same side of the first section 49 as the clamping strip 20, and, by the elbow 51 which these two sections make between them 49, 50, the movable contact element 15 bypasses, at a distance, that of the edges of the bearing wall 17 of the element of fixed contact 14 which is on the side opposite the cable entries 19.
- the elbow 51 which between them the first section 49 and the second section 50 of the strip drive 45 of the movable contact element 15 is a acute elbow.
- the angle C2 that this elbow 51 makes at rest, FIG. 8B, is preferably between 70 ° and 90 °.
- the pull tab 39 of the toggle transmission 38 extends generally obliquely to the second section 50 of the drive plate 45 of the contact element mobile 15, approaching the first section 49 of this drive plate 45 as it moves away of the second section 50.
- the angle C3 made by this pull tab 39 at rest with the second section 50 to which it is coupled, FIG. 8A, is preferably between 5 ° and 35 °.
- the pull tab 39 crosses the first section 49 of the drive strip 45, by means of a recess 52 of this which, in practice, also extends continuously over the second section 50.
- the zipper 39 is in one piece with the movable contact element 15, by forming a single piece with it, and the recess 52 which it crosses is a puncture by virtue of which she was trained.
- the pull tab 39 of the transmission to knee brace 38 therefore extends substantially along the zone center of the movable contact element 15.
- the end free of the second section 50 of the drive strip 45 is slightly folded towards the clamping strip 20 beyond the root of the zipper 39.
- the pull tab 39 is elastically deformable.
- the assembly which the movable contact element 15 forms with this zipper 39 can for example come from a strip in spring steel suitably cut and folded.
- the arm drive 40 of the toggle link transmission 38 provided according to the invention is in one piece with the organ 34, forming with it one and the same part, and, on the other side of its axis of articulation A1 by relative to this drive arm 40, the actuating member 34 has an actuating arm 53, which, projecting outside of the insulating body 13 through the recess 35 of this constitutes the part of this actuator 34 which is accessible to the user.
- the arm actuator 53 and the drive arm 40 of the member actuation 34 generally form an elbow 54 between them.
- the angle C4 of this elbow 54 is preferably between 45 ° and 90 °, figure 9.
- the articulation axis A1de the actuating member 34 extends between the hinge axis A2 of the movable contact element 15 and the pull tab 39 of the toggle transmission 38.

- the member actuator 34 for its action in thrust on the movable contact element 15, the member actuator 34 comprises at least one cheek 55, which extends perpendicular to its axis of articulation A1, and the path interferes with the drive plate 45 of the element mobile contact 15.
- the actuating member 34 comprises two cheeks 55, which, arranged on either side of its drive arm 40, in extending slightly beyond it, connect this arm 40 to the actuating arm 53, thereby ensuring the stiffening of the assembly, and which frame the zipper 39 of the toggle drive 38.
- the actuating arm 53 meanwhile, extends over the entire width of the actuating member 34, from one to the other of the outer surfaces of the cheeks 55.
- the movable contact element 15 is suitable for hooking onto the fixed contact element 14 in closed position, so that its closed position is also a stable position.
- the pull tab 39 of the toggle joint transmission 38 has at least one shoulder 56 by which it can engage on a shoulder 57 of the fixed contact element 14.
- the pull tab 39 presents, successively, from the second section 50 of the drive strip 45 of the movable contact element 15 a larger section width 39 'and a smaller section 39 ", and, at the root of the latter, it comprises, transversely, two shoulders 56, each arranged respectively on the side and on the other side of this section of smaller width 39 ".
- the fixed contact element 14 has, in correspondence, two shoulders 57, thanks to a notch 58 affecting, in its median zone, that of edges of its support wall 17 which is opposite to the entrances of cable 19.
- both the fixed contact element 14 as the movable contact element 15 are of conductive material, and, the electrical appliance 10 concerned being supposed to be a switch, the element of fixed contact 14 locally carries a contact grain 60.
- this grain of contact 60 is attached to a contact wall 61 which, from the opposite side to the cable entries 19, forms a right angle for an extension 62 of one of the side walls 21 of the fixed contact element 14, FIGS. 5 and 6.
- the fixed contact element 14 also comprises, beyond the edge of its clamping wall 18 which is on the side opposite the cable entries 19, to limit engagement therein electrical conductors 12, a barrier wall 63.
- this stop wall 63 comes from a single holding on the other side walls 21 of this element of fixed contact 14, also forming a square return for this one.
- This stop wall 63 extends transversely between the clamping wall 18 of the fixed contact element 14 and the second section 50 of the drive strip 45 of the movable contact element 15.
- the contact wall 61 extends beyond this second section 50.
- the branch 30 corresponding to the clamping strip 20 of the element movable contact 15 is driven elastically, by pivoting around the axis of articulation A2, as shown schematically in lines interrupted in FIG. 3, which leads, as sought, when connecting this electrical conductor 12 to the terminal connection 11.
- connection terminal 11 when the movable contact element 15 is in closed position, the next connection terminal 11 the invention operates as a connection terminal automatic.
- the actuator 34 with him, by his drive arm 40, the pull tab 39, by means of an elastically temporary deformation of it, and, by this zipper 39, it therefore drives the element mobile contact 15, which, as shown by arrow F2 in Figures 8B and 8C, then pivots around its axis of articulation A2.
- the clamping strip 20 of the contact element mobile 15 then gradually moves away from the clamping wall 18 of the fixed contact element 14.
- the member actuation 34 is subjected to a torque which tends to keep stably in the open position, this open position being reached in practice when, at term of its tilting, it comes to bear against a stop, not visible in the figures, provided for this purpose on the body insulator 13.
- the actuator 34 thus being in position stable opening, the same applies to the contact element mobile 15, and therefore for its clamping strip 20, which remains therefore at a distance from the clamping wall 18 of the element of fixed contact 14.
- the cheeks 55 of the actuating member 34 come to bear on the first section 49 of the strip drive 45 of the movable contact element 15, which gradually brings it back to its original position of closure, however that, on the one hand, contacting the electrical conductor 12, the clamping strip 20 of this movable contact element 15 progressively submits this electrical conductor 12 at sufficient effort to ensure its holding in the connection terminal 11, and that, on the other hand, by returning to its elastic configuration at the end of the movement corresponding pivot, the pull tab 39 of the transmission knee switch 38 comes by itself to take by its shoulders 56 on the shoulders 57 of the contact element fixed 14, again ensuring stable holding in position closing of the assembly.
- the contact surfaces between the end 43 of the drive arm 40 of the actuating member 34 and the pull tab 39 of the toggle link 38 are cylindrical surfaces, so that the corresponding contact is done along an A3 straight line rather than along a point A3.
- this point A3 or this straight line A3 moves to the as the actuating member 34 tilts.
- connection terminal 11 the invention has two cable entries 19 for transplant to its level if desired.
- the actuator could just as easily be mounted movable in translation, provided, on the one hand, that, from its position closing in its open position, it drags with it the movable contact element, and, secondly, that it is associated with locking means capable of holding it so stable in closed position.
- only one of the contact elements could be of conductive material.
- connection terminal can just as well intervene in isolation, like a connector, for establishing a connection between two electrical conductors.
