Description

Domaine techniqueTechnical area

The invention relates to the field of looms, more particularly weaving looms whose insertion of the weft thread is ensured by spears. More specifically, it aims to improve in the device for guiding said lances through the crowd.

In the so-called "pliers" looms, the leaf receives, so known, two spears which run symmetrically through the crowd, with one edge fabric, to the center, in an alternating movement.

Each lance has at its free end a clamp capable of grasping thread. The so-called "input" pliers grip the wire on an edge of the fabric to bring it to the center of the crowd, where it exchanges it with the so-called clamp "outlet" which leads the weft thread to the opposite edge of the fabric.

There are already looms in which the lances are rigid and whose guidance is provided by a sheath placed in lateral overflow of the clapper. This insertion device works without any crowd-level guidance, but has the major drawback, in addition to the large width of the machine, the fact that each lance has a very high kinetic energy, which requires, for cause reciprocating motion, braking organs and consequent acceleration.

To overcome the congestion problem, we proposed using lances made up of pliers and flexible tape to rack driven by the machine. During the movement of the lance, the ribbon is curved in such a way that it does not increase the size of the machine. The use of this type of flexible tape poses the problem of guiding the gripper inside the crowd.

To solve this problem, we have in a known manner, under the lower layer forming the crowd, a track of polypropylene bristles stuck on an adhesive strip and on which the lance rests. This track, or breakdown, supports the movement of the ribbon which is guided by a plurality of hooks distributed along the path of the clamp. These hooks cross the lower tablecloth of the crowd and are directed inward of the breakdown. It goes without saying that the passage of these hooks through the crowd can cause risks of breakage of the chain wires, which reduces notoriously the capabilities of the machine.

Another drawback inherent in the use of hooks guide of the ribbon, results from the mechanical structure of said ribbon. Indeed, the mechanical rigidity of the ribbon is given by fiber cores carbon well known for their solidity. When passing the ribbon to inside the hooks, friction causes the deposition of a certain amount of carbon on the inside of the hooks. It follows that on the one hand the ribbons wear out and on the other hand, the passage of the threads of chain around the hooks causes the entrainment of these black deposits which generates dirty areas in the fabric.

One of the problems that the invention therefore arises is the elimination of the use of tape guide hooks.

It has been proposed in document FR 2 244 852 corresponding to document US 3 957 089, the use of a guide device working magnetically. The solution is to install in the leaf, an electromagnet with side plates allowing the magnetic field to close through the gripper trajectory. So when the electromagnet is energized, the magnetic field keeps the clamp between the two aforementioned sheets. This solution eliminates the presence of hooks, but requires an electromagnet with a large mass, and which also requires provide food. We therefore understand that this solution is not easily integrated into a classic loom leaf.

It has also been proposed in document US 4 126 159 to use magnetic means for causing an attraction of the leaf on the ribbon. More specifically, this document describes a solution in which the lateral ends of the leaf include electromagnets intended to attract the clip placed at the end of the ribbon, to prevent this last does not come off the tip when the clamp reaches the edges of the beating. This solution does not dispense with the use of guide hooks and therefore has the drawbacks described above.

Furthermore, it has been proposed in document EP 0 233 141 to equip the beating with two magnets arranged at the level of the meeting area of clips, while the ribbon has a set of metallic elements as light as possible embedded in its thickness at the level of the connection with the clamp. Thus, at the end of its course on the purlin, the ribbon undergoes, when the metallic elements are opposite the elements located on the wing, an attraction which ensures a certain stabilization. Unfortunately, the discrete and localized distribution of the elements metal and magnets, results in a fluctuation in the intensity of the force of attraction during the path of the clamp, which constitutes instability factors.

In addition, the wide shape of the metallic elements embedded in the tape does not allow for high precision lateral guidance, so that we know that this is a critical point, especially with regard to concerns the exchange of the weft thread from one clamp to another.

The problem which the invention proposes to solve is to provide a system for guiding the lance relative to the wing, which is light and easily integrated into a loom, while ensuring precise centering of the lance relative to the leaf.

Exposé de l'inventionStatement of the invention

The invention relates to a device for inserting the weft thread, usable on rapier weaving looms, each of the spears being composed pliers and a ribbon, in which the ribbons move by reciprocating movement from both sides of the fabric as it enters approximately the same distance in the crowd so that the clamps transmit said frame, said spears traversing the crowd by sliding on a fault integral with the leaf and flush with the wires of the lower tablecloth of the crowd, and in which the guidance of said spears relative to the leaf is magnetically secured by an element in ferromagnetic material and a plurality of permanent magnets arranged on the ribbon and on the leaf.

The improvement which constitutes the invention is characterized in that:
  • on the one hand, the permanent magnets are located on the ribbon along the longitudinal axis of the latter, the element made of ferromagnetic material being continuous, elongated and arranged under the purlins facing the longitudinal axis of the ribbon,
  • on the other hand, each magnet has a plane of symmetry parallel to the direction of magnetization and to the longitudinal axis of the strip, and has a maximum length situated in its plane of symmetry,
  • and finally, the ferromagnetic element comprises a plane of symmetry parallel to the direction of magnetization and to the longitudinal axis of the strip, and has a maximum thickness situated in its plane of symmetry.

In other words, the clamp is guided by the interaction between magnets placed on the ribbon and a metal element located under the breakdown. As the gripper advances, the magnet and the workpiece slender attract each other, so that the clamp remains on the trajectory corresponding to the minimum distance between the magnet and said element slender.

The magnetization of each magnet is grouped on the longitudinal axis tape, while the area of the elongate element likely to be the strongest attraction by the magnet, is also located in relation to the axis longitudinal of the ribbon. In this way, the magnet-element assembly elongated naturally tends to come to face the axis longitudinal of the ribbon with the thickest area of the element long, which allows optimal centering and self-correcting. In in other words, the shape of the characteristic elements means that the position balance is automatically centered.

Advantageously in practice, permanent magnets marry a disc shape while the ferromagnetic element marries a cylinder shape.

Thus, the ribbon has recessed areas in which come insert the magnetic discs. At the same time, the leaf has a longitudinal groove whose opening is directed under the purlin and in which is housed the ferromagnetic element.

Avantageusement en pratique :

  • le diamètre de chaque disque en aimant permanent est compris entre cinq et vingt millimètres ;
  • l'épaisseur de chaque disque est comprise entre un et dix millimètres, préférentiellement entre trois et cinq millimètres ;
  • le diamètre du cylindre de matériau ferromagnétique est compris entre trois et dix millimètres ;
Advantageously in practice:
  • the diameter of each permanent magnet disc is between five and twenty millimeters;
  • the thickness of each disc is between one and ten millimeters, preferably between three and five millimeters;
  • the diameter of the ferromagnetic material cylinder is between three and ten millimeters;
  • the permanent magnets are made of rare earths and the ferromagnetic element is made of steel.

Description sommaire des dessinsBrief description of the drawings

The manner of carrying out the invention as well as the advantages which will emerge clearly from the description of an embodiment particular illustrated in support of the appended figures.

Figure 2 is a section of Figure 1 along a vertical plane parallel to a chain wire showing the characteristic details of a lance according to the invention.

Manière de réaliser l'inventionWay of realizing the invention

As already said, the invention relates to an improvement of the lance guide system in the pincer looms. So, as seen in Figure 1, the traditional loom on which is installed the invention comprises a leaf (1), a comb (2) and a track (3) flush with the part (4) of the crowd (5) in contact with the leaf (1) when said crowd (5) is open.

The insertion of the weft thread is conventionally obtained by the reciprocating movement of a lance (6) whose free end supports a pliers (7) able to take the weft thread from one edge of the fabric to crowd center. It goes without saying that the invention can be applied indifferently to lances equipped with so-called "positive" pliers and in which the exchange of the weft thread between the clamps is carried out by actuation of an external member on the pliers, as with so-called pliers "negative" in which the exchange of the weft thread is carried out by tearing. In this way, we will not describe here in detail the precise structure pliers.

As seen in Figure 1, the tape (8) on which is fixed the clamp, comprises several discs (9) arranged along the longitudinal axis of the ribbon (8), in particular at its end which penetrates into the crowd, and which supports the clamp (7). The magnets (9) are housed in imprints of the ribbon, in order to reduce as much as possible the distance between the leaf (1) and the magnets (9). Each of these magnets (9) has a magnetization directed perpendicular to the planar faces ribbon (8).

Typically and in a nonlimiting illustration, the magnets used are in rare earths and have a diameter of thirteen millimeters and a thickness of four millimeters.

Furthermore, the leaf (1) has an extension (10) made of profile which is arranged just below the lower ply (4) of the crowd. In known manner, this profile (10) has on its upper face, a track (3) made of polypropylene bristles, commonly called breakdown. When the crowd (5) is open, this breakdown (3) receives the tablecloth lower (4) of the crowd which penetrates slightly inside the hairs.

To ensure proper functioning of the guidance system, it it is of course necessary that this profile is made of a non-material magnetizable, for example aluminum.

Cette panne (3) sert également de piste de glissement pour le ruban (8) de la lance (6).This fault (3) also serves as a sliding track for the ribbon (8) of the lance (6).

La gorge (11) est disposée au centre de la face supérieure du profilé (10).According to the invention the profile (10) has, just in below the purlin (3), a longitudinal housing (11) in which is inserted a cylindrical bar (12) of ferromagnetic material, by example in soft iron or steel. The groove (11) is arranged in the center of the upper face of the profile (10).

In accordance with another characteristic of the invention, the bar ferromagnetic (12) has a maximum thickness according to the plane longitudinal median (14) of the purlin.

Typically, the diameter of this cylinder is four millimeters.

Thus, the forces exerted by the magnet (9) on the element ferromagnetic (12) are symmetrically distributed on either side of the longitudinal axis of the ribbon (8). The position illustrated in Figure 2 constitutes a stable equilibrium position in which the ribbon (8) returns in the event of deviation. Indeed, if the ribbon (8) shifts slightly on one side of the failure (3), as the maximum magnetization of the magnet is directed according to the longitudinal axis (13) of the ribbon (8), the latter is subjected to forces of recall which tend to align said magnetization with the maximum thickness of the ferromagnetic bar (12). We thus obtain a phenomenon self-centering particularly advantageous for guidance.

It follows from the above that the guide device according to the invention has the following significant advantages: on the one hand, it allows the lance to be guided over the tip without the use of hooks entering the crowd. On the other hand, the geometry of the elements magnetic ensures self-centering of the ribbon on the leaf.
