Definitions
- the present invention relates to a shielded Cable connector according to the preamble of claim 1 and a combination of such a shielded Cable connector and a plug-in plug-in card for electronic data processing equipment after Preamble of claim 6.
- Both in the shielded cable connector and in the The plug-in card must have special shielding contact parts for this be provided.
- the respective assembly effort at Manufacture of both the cable connector and the plug-in card is separate by connecting these Shield contact parts with the relevant shield housing considerably. This assembly effort also applies to the Cabling continued.
- the separate connections between the respective shield housing and the separate Shielding contacts results in additional electrical transitions, which result in an increase in the contact resistance.
- EP-A-0 573 126 discloses one shielded cable connector of the type mentioned at the beginning, where a simplified connection of the Shield the cable used for the shield contact of the Cable connector can be done.
- shielded Cable plugs the complex process of connecting Shield housing and shield contact avoided, as that Shield housing in the form of one or more Shield contact tabs is only extended.
- the Shield contact transfer from the shield of the used Cable to another component through the cable connector by simple crimp connection and without further electrical Transitions possible.
- This Measure a continuous shield from the shield of the cable used up to the plug-in card without additional parts and without further electrical transitions than that of the Crimp connection and the plug connection reached.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a cable connector, the one with the provision of the shielding contact tabs on the outer area of the contact carrier at the same time for a simplified installation of the shielded cable connector.
- a shielded Cable connector of the type mentioned in claim 1 specified features and when combining a such shielded cable connector and one with it plug-in plug-in card by the in claim 6 specified features solved.
- a quick and inexpensive connector arises if the features according to claim 2 are provided.
- Advantageous embodiments of the screen housing shielded cable connector result from the characteristics one or more of claims 3 to 5.
- Shield contact tabs to provide, on the one hand Combination of cable plug and plug-in card if possible shield-tight and secondly for safety to increase the shield contact.
- shielded cable connector and The plug-in card is advantageous Shielding contact tab of the cable connector as well as the relevant connector part in or through the end plate brought the connector part of the plug-in card so that a contact connection between the shield contact tab and metallic housing of the plug-in card results.
- This can, for example. in such a way that the shielding contact tab or tabs from the inside to the metallic housing of the Create plug-in card.
- this may conceal the Danger in itself that the relatively thin-walled metallic Housing of the plug-in card if the contact pressure is too high Shield contact tab bulges outwards and then over the End plate of the connector part protrudes. This would possibly pose a risk of injury.
- the present invention has the features according to claim 7 intended.
- the contact pressure is the Shield contact tab or tabs from the recessed So outside of the metallic housing of the plug-in card given inside, so the danger that areas of the metallic housing of the plug-in card over the outer circumference of the connector part can not survive is.
- shielded cable connector 10 is especially in the version as PCMCIA cable connector provided, in which he with a variety of Poles and in is designed very small.
- the plug-in card 50 shown in FIG. 1B especially for electronic data processing equipment can be used and is constructed in such a flat manner, that their thickness is the thickness of the pluggable cable connector 10 corresponds.
- the shielded cable connector 10 has a contact carrier 11, which is provided with a frame plate 12.
- the front one Area of the contact carrier 11 is as from the frame plate 12 integrally spaced apart Connector parts 13 and 14 formed, the elongated are flat and with asymmetrically arranged rails 16, 17 for unmistakable insertion in the IC plug-in card, for example 50 are provided.
- the connector parts 13, 14 are from a plurality of longitudinal bores 18,19 which go through the frame plate 12.
- the sleeve parts in the longitudinal bores 18,19 are added and their connecting parts to the rear or protrude from the inside of the frame plate 12 and the Recording the stripped ends 21 of individual wires 22 serve a cable 23.
- the stripped ends 21 of the Individual wires 22 are not shown in these Contact connectors either soldered or crimped on.
- the cable 23 is also only schematic with one Shield 24 shown, for example in the form of a Wire mesh, and with a shield 24 surrounding Insulation 25 provided.
- the cable connector 10 also has a shield housing 30, the is composed of two housing shells 31 and 32.
- the both housing shells formed from a thin sheet of metal 31 and 32 have a large-area plate 33, 34 each with narrow narrow edges 35 and 36 are provided.
- the two housing shells 31 and 32 have one of the widths of the Contact carrier 11 corresponding width and run on its rear area facing the cable 23 trapezoidal.
- the two housing shells 31 and 32 are by means of their overlapping edges 35 and 36 interlockable.
- the lower housing shell in Figure 2 32 has 23 on its rear, the shielded cable facing end, a cable crimp 37 in the form of a U-shaped Channel part 38 with three or four protruding fingers 39.
- the upper housing shell 31 is the cable crimp 37 opposite provided with a web 40, between the and the cable crimp 37 the shield 24 of the shielded Cable 23 is arranged.
- the connection of the shield 24 of the cable 23 with the two housing shells 31 and 32 takes place in that the cable crimp 37 or its finger 39th closely shaped around the shield 24 and the web 40 or be crimped.
- Both housing shells 31 and 32 are at their front end with one piece protruding over its front edge 41,42 Shield contact tabs 43 and 44 provided.
- Shield contact tabs 43 and 44 are at illustrated embodiment per housing shell 31,32 two spaced shield contact tabs 43 or 44 provided.
- the shield contact tabs 43, 44 opposite the plate 33 and 34 of the two housing shells 31 and 32 in the Area where they have slots 45 and 46 of the frame plate 12 penetrate with one facing towards the outside Bend.
- the front free ends of the Shield contact tabs 43, 44 are with an inside pointing contact belly, for example in the form of a groove-shaped (Fig. 1A, 2) or a punctiform (Fig. 3, 4) embossing 47.47 '.
- the frame plate 12 of the contact carrier 11 is above and below the respective connector part 13, 14 with a Provide slot 45.46. Through these top and bottom Slots 45 and 46 become the shield contact tabs 43 and 44 of the housing shells 31 and 32 when installing the Cable connector 10 inserted, whereupon the two housing shells 31 and 32 locked together and the cable crimp 37 or Web 40 is connected to the shield 24 of the cable 23. It is understood that the stripped ends 21 of the Individual wires 22 with the, not shown, in Contact carrier 11 arranged contacts connected and one Protective cap 49 has been threaded. 1A assembled state of the cable connector 10 protrude beyond Shielding contact tabs 43 and 44 the front face of the Frame plate 12 and extend over an essential part the length of the connector parts 13 and 14 parallel to this and on both sides.
- the contact carrier 11 is provided with a lock 60 which one of the Frame plate 12 protruding bracket 61 and two protruding from the front of the frame plate 12 Has locking tabs 62 and 63.
- the two locking tongues 62 and 63 are between the two connector parts 13 and 14 arranged.
- Holder 61 and locking tongues 62, 63 are in one piece with the frame plate 12 made of plastic connected.
- the holder 61 can have a locking pin 64 record the between the two locking tongues 62 and 63 in a longitudinal recess of the holder 61, not shown can be inserted.
- One end of the locking pin 64 comes into a slot recess 65, in which pins 66,67 of slide elements 68 and 69 engage in assembled state of the cable connector 10 from the outside to the lie on both housing shells 31 and 32.
- By moving the slide elements 68 and 69 can the locking pin 64 get between the two locking tongues 62 and 63 and to secure them to each other in a resilient movement, so that the cable connector 10 in this way with a plug-in card 50 locking can be connected.
