    Claims (13)

    1. Embroidering or sewing machine, especially cylinder bed embroidering or sewing machine, with a feed plate (1) in which a sewing aperture for the machine needle is formed, wherein arranged in the feed plate (1) is a sleeve (3, 14), in which the sewing aperture (4) is formed and which is movable in its longitudinal axial direction between a lowered setting, in which its upper edge remote from the needle lies substantially in the plane of the surface of the feed plate (1), and a projecting setting, in which its upper edge protrudes beyond the surface of the feed plate (1), characterised thereby that present at the underside of the feed plate (1) is a slide (5, 12) which is movable transversely to the sleeve axis and which is coupled with the sleeve (3, 14) in such a manner that the latter displaces in its axial direction on movement of the slide.
    2. Machine according to claim 1, characterised thereby that the sleeve (3, 14) is movable upwardly and downwardly in synchronism with the needle and/or presser foot movement.
    3. Machine according to claim 1 or 2, characterised thereby that the sleeve (3, 14) is coupled with a drive equipment (5, 12), by which it is movable upwardly and downwardly.
    4. Machine according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterised thereby that the slide (5, 12) has a chamfered surface (6, 13), which bears against the underside or an annular shoulder of the sleeve (3, 14).
    5. Machine according to claim 3 or 4, characterised thereby that a channel (10), in which the slide (5, 12) is guided, is present in the feed plate underside.
    6. Machine according to one of claims 3 to 5, characterised thereby that the slide (5, 12) is connected with a drive equipment controlled by a control device of the embroidering or sewing machine.
    7. Machine according to claim 6, characterised thereby that the drive equipment is formed by a pneumatic, mechanical or electromagnetic drive.
    8. Machine according to one of claims 3 to 7, characterised thereby that a thread cutter (8) is provided under the feed plate (1) and the slide (5, 12) is arranged between the feed plate (1) and the thread cutter (8).
    9. Machine according to one of the preceding claims, characterised thereby that the sleeve (3, 14) is guided in the feed plate (1).
    10. Machine according to one of the preceding claims, characterised thereby that the guide of the sleeve in the feed plate (1) has a smaller friction in such a manner that the sleeve restoration into the lowered setting takes place by virtue of its own weight.
    11. Machine according to one of the preceding claims, characterised thereby that the sleeve (3, 14) is connected with a drive equipment, which returns it into its lowered setting.
    12. Machine according to one of the preceding claims, characterised thereby that the upper edge of the sleeve (3, 14) is rounded off.
    13. Machine according to one of the preceding claims, characterised thereby that the sleeve (3, 14) is guided in a passage opening (2) of the feed plate (1) and its outer side and/or the passage opening wall are lapped or have a suitable small surface roughness.
