Definitions
- the invention relates to a brake arm for a ski brake according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a generic brake arm with the features of the preamble of claim 1 is known from FR-A-25 26 321.
- Such a brake arm is also known for example from DE-25 31 995 A.
- the brake arm is generally tubular, with a transverse, plate-like extension that supports the braking process and ends in a gripper or a shovel or the like.
- This gripper which forms a braking edge, is intended to make it easier for the braking arm to penetrate hard snow or ice.
- a brake arm for a ski brake is known, in which the ski brake each has brake arms, which has two wires arranged in the shape of a V to one another, at the ends of which a brake skid is attached.
- the edge of the runner pointing towards the floor is frayed like a jag.
- skis have been offered that have additional absorber plates in the binding area. This leads on the one hand to a greater distance from the ski binding to the ground and on the other hand to a higher weight of the ski. If conventional ski brakes are used in skis of this type, it is found that the braking effect is inadequate.
- the conventional ski brakes in particular are not functional in all types of snow. So the ski brake is in accordance DE-25 31 995 A is advantageous for hard, icy snow surfaces, but not for soft powder snow.
- the object of the invention is to further develop the generic brake arm in such a way that, particularly when using skis with a comparatively higher weight and a greater distance from the snow surface, a good braking effect is guaranteed in the case of different types of snow, no additional components or a significantly larger brake body being required.
- this object is achieved on the basis of a generic brake arm by the features of the characterizing part of claim 1. Accordingly, in relation to the longitudinal direction of its center line in front of the plate-like extension, this brake arm has at least one barb-like projection which forms an additional braking edge and is oriented transversely to the center line of the brake arm and which, in a sectional plane which runs through the center line of the brake arm, has the shape of a right-angled triangle having. Through this at least one additional braking edge, the braking effect on relatively hard snow is initially increased by the fact that a further barb-like projection is formed here.
- this design of the brake arm according to the invention has the advantage that the at least one barb-like projection serves as an additional displacement or baffle, in front of whose additional braking edge snow builds up, so that the entire ski floats on the snow surface as it were. This can prevent the ski from sinking into the deep snow even with a comparatively higher weight.
- a plurality of barb-like projections can be arranged one behind the other, which are of different heights, so that braking edges are formed which are spaced differently from the braking arm.
- the angle between the plate-like extension and the center line of the brake arm is approximately 40 ° to 60 ° and preferably 45 ° to 55 °.
- the braking edge formed by the plate-like extension is used particularly effectively.
- a boundary wall can be stretched laterally between the plate-like extension and the base of the brake arm, so that the shape of a claw closed on one side and open on the opposite side results in the end region of the brake arm.
- the brake arm is particularly advantageously formed in that it is formed from a metal wire or metal tube, on the end of which a molded body made of injection-molded plastic is attached. In this way, the prescribed design of the brake arm can be produced very easily and inexpensively. On the other hand, the stability of the brake arm is ensured due to the metal wire or metal tube.
- the at least one barb-like projection can be shaped such that it has the shape of a right-angled triangle in cross section, the hypotenuse of which is designed as a radius. This creates a flute-shaped surface, so that the at least one projection takes the form of a comparatively pointed tooth.
- Another alternative embodiment can consist in that the at least one additional braking edge is not rectilinear but curved.
- the brake arm part shown in Figures 1 to 4 is a molded body 10 made of injection-molded plastic, which is attached to a wire, not shown here, in such a way that it sits firmly on it and forms the brake arm together with the wire.
- the molded body 10 ends in a transverse, plate-like extension 12, which in this exemplary embodiment is positioned at an angle ⁇ of 53 ° to the center line 20.
- the plate-like extension 12 forms a gripper with a braking edge 13.
- the inner surface of the plate-like extension 12 sits in a flat base surface 18 of the brake arm 10 or, in this embodiment, the molded body 10 forming part of the brake arm.
- Transversely extending barb-like projections 14 and 16 are formed on this base area 18, which have the shape of a right-angled triangle in cross section.
- the barb-like projections 14 and 16 form braking edges 15 and 17, and the surfaces formed by the barb-like projections 14 and 16 drop flat towards the end of the brake arm, while the surface pointing towards the inside of the brake arm drops steeply and preferably as can be seen, for example, in FIG. 2, forms a right angle with the base area 18.
- the distance between the brake edges 13, 15 and 17 decreases continuously, starting from the brake edge 13, towards the inside of the brake arm, so that the brake edges form several barbs arranged one behind the other and graded in height.
- a boundary wall 20 is stretched laterally between the plate-like extension 12 and the base of the brake arm, as can be seen in FIGS. 1, 2 and 3. This gives the end of the shaped body 10 of the brake arm the shape of a gripper closed on one side.
- a brake arm part is designed as a molded body 10, which essentially corresponds to the embodiment explained with reference to FIGS. 1-4.
- the barb-like projections 14 and 16 have fillet-shaped surfaces 22 and 24, so that barbs with sharp-edged braking edges 15 and 17 are formed.
- Fig. 6 Another modification of the brake arm part is shown in Fig. 6. There it is indicated that the braking edges 15 and 17 are arcuate, that is to say they are designed as a radius.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a brake arm for a ski brake according to the preamble of claim 1.
A generic brake arm with the features of the preamble of claim 1 is known from FR-A-25 26 321.
Such a brake arm is also known for example from DE-25 31 995 A. There, the brake arm is generally tubular, with a transverse, plate-like extension that supports the braking process and ends in a gripper or a shovel or the like. This gripper, which forms a braking edge, is intended to make it easier for the braking arm to penetrate hard snow or ice.
From FR-A-25 60 524 a brake arm for a ski brake is known, in which the ski brake each has brake arms, which has two wires arranged in the shape of a V to one another, at the ends of which a brake skid is attached. The edge of the runner pointing towards the floor is frayed like a jag.
For some time now, skis have been offered that have additional absorber plates in the binding area. This leads on the one hand to a greater distance from the ski binding to the ground and on the other hand to a higher weight of the ski. If conventional ski brakes are used in skis of this type, it is found that the braking effect is inadequate. The conventional ski brakes in particular are not functional in all types of snow. So the ski brake is in accordance DE-25 31 995 A is advantageous for hard, icy snow surfaces, but not for soft powder snow.
The object of the invention is to further develop the generic brake arm in such a way that, particularly when using skis with a comparatively higher weight and a greater distance from the snow surface, a good braking effect is guaranteed in the case of different types of snow, no additional components or a significantly larger brake body being required.
According to the invention, this object is achieved on the basis of a generic brake arm by the features of the characterizing part of claim 1. In soft deep snow, this design of the brake arm according to the invention has the advantage that the at least one barb-like projection serves as an additional displacement or baffle, in front of whose additional braking edge snow builds up, so that the entire ski floats on the snow surface as it were. This can prevent the ski from sinking into the deep snow even with a comparatively higher weight.
Advantageously, a plurality of barb-like projections can be arranged one behind the other, which are of different heights, so that braking edges are formed which are spaced differently from the braking arm. The distance of the braking edges from the base of the Brake arm, starting from the plate-like extension, which forms a first braking edge, towards the inner projections, which form further braking edges, continuously decrease. This gradation additionally increases the braking effect of the braking edges arranged one behind the other.
It has proven to be particularly advantageous that the angle between the plate-like extension and the center line of the brake arm is approximately 40 ° to 60 ° and preferably 45 ° to 55 °. In realizing this angle, the braking edge formed by the plate-like extension is used particularly effectively. A boundary wall can be stretched laterally between the plate-like extension and the base of the brake arm, so that the shape of a claw closed on one side and open on the opposite side results in the end region of the brake arm.
The brake arm is particularly advantageously formed in that it is formed from a metal wire or metal tube, on the end of which a molded body made of injection-molded plastic is attached. In this way, the prescribed design of the brake arm can be produced very easily and inexpensively. On the other hand, the stability of the brake arm is ensured due to the metal wire or metal tube.
According to an alternative embodiment of the invention, the at least one barb-like projection can be shaped such that it has the shape of a right-angled triangle in cross section, the hypotenuse of which is designed as a radius. This creates a flute-shaped surface, so that the at least one projection takes the form of a comparatively pointed tooth.
Another alternative embodiment can consist in that the at least one additional braking edge is not rectilinear but curved.

The brake arm part shown in Figures 1 to 4 is a molded
As is shown in particular in FIG. 1, the inner surface of the plate-
The distance between the
Another modification of the brake arm part is shown in Fig. 6. There it is indicated that the braking edges 15 and 17 are arcuate, that is to say they are designed as a radius.
With the molded body explained above, which can be drawn onto a corresponding wire, brake arms that have already been assembled and consist of only one wire can be retrofitted and their effectiveness improved.
