Such a motor vehicle is known and described in document US-A-4 667 565. In the known device, a turntable carrying the weapon is rotatably arranged at the outer ends of two swivel arms, which can be pivoted down about pivot bearings arranged on the vehicle floor from a position in which the turntable is arranged within the hatch opening into a position in which the Slewing ring is arranged inside the vehicle. In this way, the turntable and weapon can be swung down from a firing position, in which the weapon is located above the vehicle roof, into a rest position, in which the weapon is located within the vehicle.

Document GB-A-556 002 describes a device for attaching a weapon to an aircraft or a vehicle, in which the weapon is attached to a base plate which can be lowered from an operating level into a deeper level lying parallel to the operating level .

The invention has for its object to provide the ability to provide a commercially unarmored motor vehicle, in particular a car with a device by means of which a light machine gun can be arranged on the roof of the vehicle and pivoted into the vehicle interior so that the weapon completely in the vehicle disappears. The weapon should be pivoted in and out manually and with little time and effort.

This object is achieved according to the invention with the features from the characterizing part of patent claim 1. Advantageous developments of the invention are described in the subclaims.

As can be seen below from an exemplary embodiment, the basic idea of the invention is to convert a conventional passenger car, in which an opening is cut into the roof plate of the vehicle, which opening can be closed by means of a hatch cover, and in the opening a ball slewing ring is arranged, on which one the carriage of the weapon carrying swivel device is arranged, by means of which the entire system, including the carriage and weapon, can be swiveled out of the vehicle into a standby position when the hatch is open, in which the weapon is protruded from a hole in the vehicle and protrudes from the opening with the upper body Operator can be handled. The weapon can also be swung back into the interior of the vehicle from this ready position, after which the hatch cover can be closed again.

The device described below is arranged on a car which is only indicated in FIG. 1 and is more clearly shown in FIGS. 6 to 9 and which has a roof plate 1 into which a circular opening 2 has been incorporated. In the region of this opening, reinforcement elements 4 and 5 are introduced to reinforce the roof panel, which can be part of a welded cage made of thick-walled steel rectangular profiles, for example. These reinforcing elements 4 and 5 can be screwed to the vehicle in the area of the seat belt fastening bores of the B-pillar and the C-pillar of the motor vehicle or, if necessary, welded. Screwed to these reinforcing elements 4 and 5 is a ball slewing ring 3 arranged below the opening 2 and concentrically to it, on the movable inner ring 3.1 of which a bearing flange 6 is arranged, which has four tabs 7.1, 7.2, 7.3 and 7.4 pointing downward into the vehicle interior, of which only one is visible in FIG. 1, which is designated there with reference number 7. At each of the tabs, a pivot lever 8, 9, 8.1, 9.1 is attached at one end. The shape of the pivoting lever can be seen in FIG. 1 and in particular in FIGS. 6 to 9. They are bent towards the edge of the opening 2 and each can be pivoted in vertical mutually parallel pivot planes, and their other ends are connected to a base plate 10 via rotary connections. The arrangement of the pivot levers and their connection to the base plate and the tabs is such that two pivot levers, namely the pivot levers 8 and 9 on the one hand and the swivel levers 8.1 and 9.1 on the other hand, which are each arranged side by side, form a parallelogram linkage. For this purpose, as can be seen from the drawings, for example the inner ends of the pivot levers 8 and 8.1 on the tabs 7.1 and 7.4 and the inner ends of the other two pivot levers 9 and 9.1 are arranged somewhat lower on the tabs 7.2 and 7.3, while the outer ends the pivot levers 8 and 9 on one side of the base plate 10 are spaced apart and the outer ends of the pivot levers 8.1 and 9.1 on the other side of the base plate 10 are spaced apart. With these parallelogram linkages, a closed parallelogram guide is created, which allows the base plate 10 to be pivoted up and down from a position above the vehicle roof into a position in the vehicle interior around a rotating pole. The play of the base plate 10 can be reduced compared to the pivot levers 8 and 9 by means of an adjustable stop bar 20.

Arranged on the base plate 10 is a slide 11 which can be displaced in the direction parallel to the pivot planes and is guided on guide rods 12 and 12.1 connected to the base plate 10. On its upper side, the carriage 11 has a receptacle 11.1 in which a pivot pin 13 is rotatably mounted, at the free end of which a receptacle fork is arranged, in which the weapon receptacle 14 is pivotably mounted in a vertical plane. The carriage 11 is in position relative to the base plate 10 by two gas pressure springs 15 and 15.1 held and can be locked in a predetermined position by means of a spring-operated locking pin.

To balance the weight of the system together with the weapon and to make it easier to swivel in, two gas tension springs 17 and 17.1 are used, which are arranged between the base plate 10 and the inner ends of the two pivot levers 9 and 9.1 belonging to the parallelogram linkage. The arrangement of these gas tension springs 17 and 17.1 can be seen in particular in FIGS. 4 and 5. Locking devices 18 and 18.1 are used to lock the device in the pivoted-out position, by means of which the system is locked in the folded-out position by means of two quick-release claws pivoting in behind the pivoting levers 8 and 8.1.

A back cushion 19 for the operator is arranged in the opening 2 on the rotatable inner ring 3.1 of the ball slewing ring 3 in relation to the region of the bearing flange 6. The opening 2 can be closed tightly by means of a hatch cover 23 and a seal 22 arranged in it.

The unfolding process of the weapon W from the interior of the vehicle passenger car can be seen from FIGS. 6 to 9. As shown in FIG. 6, the weapon W is completely inside the vehicle when the hatch cover 23 is closed.

To swing out the weapon, the hatch cover 23 is unlocked, folded up and placed back on the vehicle roof 1 and locked there again. The weapon lashing on the floor of the vehicle is released and the marching lashing is released. The weapon W is pulled backwards by the grip (see FIG. 7) and finally folded up out of the vehicle according to FIG. 1 through the opening 2 until it has reached its end position according to FIG. 9. In this position, the entire system is locked by the locking devices 18 and 18.1. An ammunition box holder with inserted ammunition box M is attached to the weapon W and locked. After loading the weapon and releasing the side and height lashing, the system is ready to fire.

The operator handling the weapon W stands upright in the vehicle and is supported on the back cushions 19 and can secure himself with the belts 24. The whole system consisting of weapon W of the carriage and the swivel device can be moved around in a horizontal plane via the ball slewing ring 3. Furthermore, the weapon W can be pivoted around the pivot pin 13 in azimuth and the receiving fork in elevation with a possible elevation of, for example, -10 ° to 45 °.

To swivel it in again, the weapon W is unloaded after the side and height lashing, the ammunition box holder with inserted ammunition box M unlocked, removed and stowed in the vehicle. The entire system is unlocked by means of the locking devices 18 and 18.1 and the weapon is pulled back by the handle and swung down into the vehicle from the inside of the vehicle. The weapon is pressed into the weapon lashing on the vehicle floor, lashed down and the marching lashing inserted. The hatch cover 23 closed and lashed. The vehicle is ready to go.

The kinematics of the swivel levers 8, 9, 8.1 and 9.1 can be selected so that a weapon with caliber 0.50 mounted in the weapon holder can be folded out and in through a roof hatch with an inside diameter of 800mm. After releasing a lockable brake, not shown, the entire system can be rotated by n × 360 °.
