Description

The invention relates to a depositing device for books, book blocks, magazines, sheet piles or the like. Products which are fed in a product stream from a conveyor at high speed and under abutment to a deposit point.

Products emerging from a bookbinding machine such as books, book blocks, magazines, sheet stacks or the like are often deposited in the form of stacks. The products released continuously by the bookbinding machine run in relatively close succession or immediately adjacent to one another on a transfer conveyor which feeds them to a stacking station, the products to be stacked being aligned at a stop for storing them in a position-specific manner.

Sudden impact of the products on the stop cannot ensure the desired alignment of the products with one another at high production speeds, and on the other hand damage to sensitive products as a result of compression can occur.

From DE-OS 39 38 536, which corresponds to the preamble of claim 1, a device for forming a stack of upright folded sheets is known with brake rollers between a transfer conveyor and a stacking table. The brake rollers are countered Lower rotational speed driven by the speed of the transfer conveyor and transfer the folded sheets to the stacking table at this reduced speed, thereby preventing the folded sheets from rebounding and compressing. In order to prevent a following folded sheet from running onto a braked folded sheet leading in advance, there must be a sufficiently large space between the individual folded sheets ejected by the folding machine. Tightly consecutive folded sheets or immediately adjacent one another cannot be braked before hitting the stacking table.

The object of the invention is to provide a depositing device of the generic type which ensures gentle treatment and aligned products of products which are fed in at high speed and are close to one another or are directly adjacent to one another.

This object is achieved by the features of the characterizing part of claim 1.

Further advantageous features result from the dependent claims.

The invention is explained below with reference to the description of exemplary embodiments and with reference to the drawing. Show it:
Fig. 1
a storage device in a side view;
fig. 2nd
a modified embodiment of the storage device also in a side view.

From an upstream bookbinding machine running at high production speed, stacks 1 of folded printed sheets or blocks etc. arrive in a continuous stream on a transfer conveyor 2. Between this and a stacking magazine 3 with a stop 4 there is a pair of rollers with a lower roller 6 and an upper roller 7, which take over the stacks 1 from the transfer conveyor 2 and convey them further into the stacking magazine. The two rollers 6 and 7 are driven by a controllable drive motor in synchronism with an increased rotational speed compared to the speed of the transfer conveyor 2, which means that a stack taken over by the pair of rollers is brought to a defined distance from a subsequent stack.

If the stack 1 separated from the current reaches a light barrier 8 with its rear edge, the drive motor receives a command to briefly reduce the rotational speed of the two rollers 6 and 7 compared to the speed of the transfer conveyor 2, and the stack 1 is now fed to the stack magazine 3 with braking. This reliably prevents the stack 1 from bouncing off the magazine stop 4.

The decisive factor here is the positioning of the light barrier 8 releasing the brake in relation to the stop 4. In order to prevent the stack 1 from tipping over the lower roller 6, the stack 1 must be conveyed into the magazine 3 at a relatively high speed. Braking may only take place immediately before stop 4 is reached.

Instead of the upper synchronously driven roller 7, a freely rotatable counter-pressure roller can be used for stacking products that are stable in themselves, such as books and single sheets.

In an advantageous development of this exemplary embodiment, the speed of the lower 6 and the upper roller 7 can be regulated in such a way that the path length of a product transported through the rollers 6 and 7 to a sensor 8 'is detected by means of an incremental encoder 9, which in the process detects the path length of the product 1 in the rollers 6 and 7 detected. The incremental encoder 9 uses a computer to determine the start for the braking process as a function of the product format and the feed speed.

In Figur 2 wird eine abgewandelte Ausführungsform der Erfindung dargestellt, in der zwei in Transportrichtung hintereinander angeordnete Walzenpaare vor gesehen sind, von denen die dem Übergabeförderer 2 unmittelbar folgenden Walzen 10, 11 als Beschleunigungswalzen und die sich daran anschließenden Walzen 12, 13 als Bremswalzen fungieren.FIG. 2 shows a modified embodiment of the invention, in which two pairs of rollers arranged one behind the other in the transport direction are seen, of which the rollers 10, 11 immediately following the transfer conveyor 2 function as acceleration rollers and the rollers 12, 13 adjoining them function as brake rollers.

In relation to the speed of the transfer conveyor 2, the acceleration rollers 10, 11 are driven continuously by a controllable drive motor at a higher speed and the brake rollers 12, 13 permanently at a lower speed. In order to achieve an alternating effect, the lower brake roller 12 is positioned lower relative to the lower acceleration roller 10 and the upper brake roller 13 is positioned higher relative to the upper acceleration roller 11, the upper brake roller 13 and the upper acceleration roller 11 being located on a slightly angled support arm 14, which is freely pivotable about a pivot point 15.
