Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a watch case with a bottom separable from the middle part. More particularly, this invention relates to a watch case provided with a bottom forming with the two attachments to the bracelet one and the same piece.
  • Document CH 662 698 discloses a watch case comprising a bottom separable from the middle part, this bottom forming with the two attachments to the bracelet one and the same piece.
  • the strap attachment includes a base at the ends of which there are two horns used for fixing the strap fixing bar, the base of this clip being connected to the bottom by a bridge.
  • the bridge of this fastener has the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped and the base of the fastener of elongated shape and oriented transversely to the bridge has an external surface located in the same plane as the external surface of said back of this watch case, the cross section of the base having the shape of a triangle whose external angle is truncated.
  • Each of the horns has the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped located on one of the ends of the base of the clip. Since the base section is of truncated triangular shape, the horn has a general orientation whose direction is slightly angularly offset from the direction perpendicular to the plane defined by the outer surface of the bottom of the box.
  • the attachment described in this document has the following drawback: the truncated triangular section of the base associated with two horns, each having the shape of a rectangular parallelipiped, generates an embodiment in several steps requiring at least one machining step.
  • This document therefore describes a watch case having fasteners with simple geometric shapes, but requiring a relatively expensive production.
  • a first object of the invention is to provide a watch case comprising a bottom separable from the middle part and forming with two fasteners to fix a bracelet a single piece, each fastener comprising two horns whose general orientation is an angular offset relative to the median plane three hours - nine hours of the watch case, for an inexpensive manufacturing cost.
  • Another object of the invention is to provide such a watch case with horns having a shape adapted to define a blind hole intended for one end of a means of fixing said bracelet.
  • the present invention therefore relates to a watch case comprising a middle part, a back defining a general plan and two fasteners for attaching a bracelet, this back forming with the two fasteners one and the same piece, each of said fasteners having, relatively to a projection in said general plane of said bottom, substantially the general shape of a T, the middle branch of which forms a bridge connecting the attachment to said bottom and the transverse branch of which forms a base for two horns.
  • These two horns extend respectively, from the two ends of the base, along two axes of general orientation parallel to each other and defining an oblique plane having an angular offset relative to the median plane three hours - nine hours of said watch case, the latter being characterized in that said base extends in a general plane perpendicular to the two axes of general orientation.
  • the bridge connecting the base to the bottom is curved on the side of the external surface of this bottom, the profile formed by the external surfaces of the bottom, of the two bridges and of the two respective bases in the median plane six o'clock - twelve o'clock of said watch case defining a continuous and smooth line.
  • said horns have a thickness greater than the thickness of the peripheral region of said bottom and each of these horns has a blind hole having a single opening situated in the internal surface of said horn and intended to receive one end of a means serving to fix said bracelet to said watch case.
  • said horns have substantially the shape of a semi-ellipsoid of revolution.
  • the result of this preferred embodiment is a watch case whose thickness of the peripheral region of the bottom is independent and substantially less than the thickness of the horns, which has a double advantage.
  • n '' does not affect the thickness of the peripheral region of the back, which allows it to be small enough to give the watch case a minimum thickness without requiring a hole for the end of the bar which crosses the horn entirely.
  • the peripheral region of the back has a relatively small thickness, so that this back separable from the middle stays below the level of the time-setting rod hole.
  • the thickness of the horn being independent of the thickness of the peripheral region of the bottom, the horn can have a thickness large enough to present a harmonious shape which underlines the aesthetic character of this watch case, the horn having for example a form of a half-ellipsoid of revolution or a half-egg or any other artistic form evoking the artisanal work of a goldsmith.
  • the watch case 1 comprises a middle-bezel 2 and a part 4 forming the base 6 with the two fasteners 8 and 9 used to fix the bracelet.
  • This watch case also includes a glass 10 placed in a seal 11, which also acts as a flange between the glass 10 and the dial 12 of this watch.
  • the movement 14 of this watch is housed in a casing circle 16 having in radial section an extension which bears against the internal surface 18 of the base 6.
  • a seal 20 is provided inside a housing formed by the middle part-bezel 2, the bottom 6 and the casing ring 16.
  • the part 4 forming the bottom with the two fasteners used to fix the bracelet essentially comprises four regions having a distinct thickness.
  • the thinnest region, with a thickness 22, forms the central region 21 of the back 6, this central region 21 comprising the region of superposition with the movement 14 of the watch.
  • the peripheral region 23 of the bottom 6 forms a second region having a specific thickness 24, the outer edge of the bottom being rounded.
  • the internal surface of this peripheral region 23 constitutes the contact surface with the middle-bezel 2 of this watch case.
  • Holes 26 are provided in this peripheral region 23, these holes being intended for the passage of the fixing screws 28 serving to hold together the middle part-bezel 2 and the part 4 forming the bottom with the two fasteners to fix the bracelet.
  • the base 30 of each of the two fasteners 8 and 9 forms a third region of the part 4 having a specific thickness, namely a thickness 31 slightly greater than the thickness 24 of the peripheral region 23 of this part 4.
  • this part 4 further comprises four horns 34a to 34d, each of these horns defining a width 35 greater than the thickness 24 of the peripheral region 23 of the bottom 6 and greater than or equal to the thickness 31 of the base 30 of the fastener 8, respectively 9.
  • the thickness 31 of the base 30 can be, in another variant of this embodiment, smaller or equal to the thickness 24 of the peripheral region 23.
  • each of the two fasteners 8 and 9 also comprises a bridge 36 connecting the peripheral region 23 of the bottom 6 with the base 30 of the fastener 8, respectively 9.
  • This bridge 36 has a thickness progressively decreasing between the thickness 24 of the peripheral region 23 and the thickness 31 of the base 30 of the clip 8, respectively 9.
  • This bridge 36 forms a constriction between the bottom 6 and the base 30 of the fastener 8, respectively 9.
  • the base 30 has the form of a bar oriented transversely to the direction given by the two bridges 36 of the part 4 of this watch case 1. It will be noted that in the plan view in Figure 4, each fastener has the general shape of a T.
  • the region located on the side of the watch glass 10 is called top or above or the upper part of the watch, and the region below or below or even the lower part of the watch case is the region defined by the bottom 6 of the watch case.
  • the central region 21 of the bottom 6 of the watch case defines a general plane 38.
  • This general plane 38 is here parallel to the general plane of the watch case.
  • the base 30 of the fastener 8, respectively 9 defines a general plane 40, respectively 41.
  • This general plane 40, respectively 41 is angularly offset by an angle ⁇ relative to the general plane 38 of the bottom of the watch case.
  • the two horns 34a and 34b, respectively 34c and 34d, extending in one and the same direction from the two ends of the base 30 of each of the two fasteners 8 and 9, are oriented towards the top of the watch along an axis of general orientation 44, respectively 45 substantially perpendicular to the general plane 40, respectively 41 of the base 30 of the strap fastener 8, respectively 9.
  • the horns of the two strap fasteners 8 and 9 are oriented in an offset direction angularly at an angle ⁇ with respect to the median plane three hours - nine hours from the watch case 1.
  • the angular offset ⁇ of the horns 34a to 34d allows these horns to be released from the edge of the middle-bezel 2 by giving them an orientation suitable for the wrist area of a person likely to wear this watch.
  • the two horns and the base of the same attachment have substantially a common plane of symmetry, this plane of symmetry comprising the two axes 44, 45 respectively of general orientation of the two horns of this attachment.
  • a piece is obtained by stamping with the horns oriented substantially in the extension of the respective base. Then by folding, these horns are oriented in a direction substantially perpendicular to the general plane of said respective base.
  • the bridge 36 connecting the peripheral region 23 of the bottom 6 to the base 30 of the strap attachment 8, respectively 9 is curved in a substantially continuous direction towards the underside of the watch case, that is to say on the side of the external surface 48 of the base 6.
  • the profile formed by the external surfaces 48, 58 and 50 of the base 6, of the bridge 36 and of the base 30 in the median plane six o'clock - twelve o'clock II-II defines a continuous line and smooth. By stringer, it is indicated that the line has neither angle nor offset.
  • the part 4 forming the back 6 with the two strap attachments 8 and 9 has a convex profile in the region of the attachments 8 and 9.
  • the two horns situated at the ends of the base of each of the two fasteners are oriented substantially towards the bottom of the watch case, the bridge connecting the peripheral region of the back to the base of the strap attachment then being curved towards the top of the watch case, that is to say on the side of the watch glass.
  • the internal surface and the external surface of the base of the strap attachment are reversed with respect to the embodiment represented in FIGS. 1 to 5.
  • each of the two fasteners 8 and 9 has an external surface 50 and an internal surface 52 located on the top side of the watch case 1.
  • each of the horns 34a to 34d has an external surface 54 and internal surface 56.
  • the bridge 36 of the fastener 8, respectively 9 also has an external surface 58 and an internal surface 60 located on the side of the middle-bezel 2.
  • the internal surfaces 52 of the base 30 and 56 of the horns 34a and 34b , respectively 34c and 34d define a volume inside which takes place a strap for fixing the strap (not shown), the ends of which are inserted inside cavities 64 provided in each of the horns 34a to 34d. These cavities 64 have a single opening located in the internal surface 56 of the horns; they therefore form blind holes and open towards the inside of the fastener.
  • the central region 21 of the bottom 6 of the watch case forms a recess in the piece 4 comprising this bottom 6, the edges of this recess being defined by the peripheral region 23 of the bottom 6.
  • the bottom 6 is located partially inside a recess 68 provided in the bottom of the middle-bezel 2. It will be noted that this recess 68 remains below the lower level of the hole 69 provided for the setting rod. hour, thus leaving a thickness of material 70 belonging to the middle part-bezel 2 between the peripheral region 23 of the base and this hole 69. It will also be noted that in FIG. 3, the time-setting rod and the crown n ' have not been represented.
  • the diameter of the back 6 is less than the diameter of the glass 10 of the watch case. shows 1.
  • a notch 72 is necessary on the lower edge of the middle part 2 defining the recess 68.
  • This notch 72 has substantially a depth corresponding to the depth of the recess 68 operated in the bottom of the middle part-bezel 2.
  • the external surfaces of the peripheral region of the back 6, the bridge 36 and the base 30 are partially rounded.
  • the horns 34a to 34d have substantially the shape of a semi-ellipsoid of revolution, the planar surface defining the internal surface 56, while the convex surface defines the external surface 54 of these horns.
  • other shapes can be provided, for example the shape of a half-egg.
  • each of these forms must have a sufficient thickness in the region of the cavity 64 used to receive the end of the strap fixing strap.
  • a watch case according to the invention may have a bezel formed by a part distinct from the part forming the middle part.
