Definitions

  • the invention relates to a paper threading device according to the features of claim 1.
  • Printing devices with latent character image generation as e.g. Laser printers with LED combs, printing devices or magnetic printers are generally known and have been used successfully.
  • a latent character image is created with the aid of a laser or with the aid of magnetic recording media on a photoconductor drum or a magneto-sensitive drum, which is developed by applying toner in a developer station and then in the subsequent transfer printing station onto a tape-shaped recording medium in the form of a perforated edge provided continuous paper is transferred.
  • the image consisting of toner, which is loosely on the continuous paper, is fixed with the aid of a fixing device and then placed on a paper storage surface by means of an automatic paper stacker.
  • Such rapid printing devices with latent character image generation are operated together with EDP systems and operated and serviced by the same operating personnel. For this reason, the printing devices must be designed so that an almost uninterrupted printing operation is guaranteed. After a stack of paper has been consumed, it must therefore be possible to insert a new stack of paper very quickly without a substantial interruption time. Such printing devices must therefore be ergonomically optimal, this applies in particular to the insertion and removal of the paper and to the maintenance of the overall system.
  • the transfer printing station is usually removed from the intermediate carrier e.g. swung out a photoconductor drum and manually inserted the paper into the printing device.
  • the paper guide in the area of the transfer printing station and there in the area of the transfer printing point is particularly problematic. It must be ensured that the paper is taut and without play around the transfer station during printing. Fluttering of the paper in the area of the transfer printing point leads to malfunctions in the transfer printing process and thus to a deterioration of the typeface, e.g. in the form of wiping pressure or the like.
  • the paper transport device at the transfer printing station must be designed in such a way that a synchronous running of the paper with the photoconductor drum is ensured.
  • Tractors of this type generally consist of a tractor belt with tractor flaps arranged above it, which press the paper against the tractor belt. While the paper tractors on the output side are generally easily accessible, depending on the type, operating the tractor flap on the input side is difficult.
  • the object of the invention is to provide a paper threading device for continuous paper provided with edge perforations in the transport elements of a transfer printing station of a printing device with latent character image generation, which enables the continuous paper to be clamped and threaded easily and accurately.
  • the threading should run as automatically as possible.
  • a paper brake to be actuated during the threading process is arranged in the paper transport direction in front of the transport elements on the input side.
  • the continuous paper is first hooked into the output-side paper tractors, which are easily accessible from above, and then the continuous paper is guided through the paper brake.
  • a switching device activates the tractors on the output side when the paper brake is applied.
  • the paper is crawled.
  • the continuous paper is simply pitched into the transport nipple of the input side tractor belts, automatically ensuring that the paper is guided tightly around the transfer station.
