Definitions

  • the invention relates to an electrically controlled fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines, in particular pump nozzle, according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • a pump piston preferably driven by the camshaft of the engine, is arranged in a common housing together with an associated injection nozzle.
  • the fuel injection quantity is controlled during the pressure stroke of the pump piston by a quantity control valve which, for reasons of space, is attached to a laterally projecting housing part.
  • a feed pump delivers fuel from a reservoir into a low-pressure chamber, which is connected to the pump working chamber via a metering line.
  • fuel of low pressure flows through the metering line into the pump work space and during the pressure stroke, as long as this metering line is open, back into the low pressure room.
  • the quantity control valve is arranged in this metering line, so that the pressure required for the injection can build up in the pump work space in the blocked state.
  • the fuel injection pump according to the invention with the characterizing features of the main claim has the advantage that no thread has to be attached to the pump housing in order to connect the quantity control valve to the pump housing in a high-pressure-tight manner, and that the high-pressure section of the metering line connects the straight-line high-pressure bore as the pump work space with the quantity control valve is executable.
  • the pump housing instead of an external thread that is difficult to manufacture, the pump housing only has to be provided with lateral recesses into which the fastening sleeve provided with an internal thread engages in a fork-like manner for the high-pressure-tight fastening of the quantity control valve on the pump housing.
  • the fastening sleeve is on the side facing away from the pump piston the projecting housing part is pushed on, so that the side facing the pump piston of the projecting housing part is not covered by the fastening sleeve and its design is only subject to the requirements of the pressure channel guide to the pump work space.
