The display devices are in particular those for displaying temperature, such as water temperature or air temperature, flow rate and / or time.

The column, which has the control fitting and / or change-over fitting, is preferably provided on the entrance side of the shower device and, if the shower cubicle is provided with a door, at the point at which the door opens. As a result, the control valve and the changeover valves are accessible from the outside. However, it is also possible to provide additional operating elements and preferably also display devices outside the shower cabin, in particular on the outside of the shower cabin. The fittings can then be operated and the display devices can be read without being in the shower or opening the door. This may be desirable if a certain shower temperature is to be set before showering begins.

In a preferred embodiment, the connection between the columns with one another or between the columns and other supports runs exclusively radially, starting from a central node. This means that the connecting arms from this node are star-shaped or spider-shaped are directed towards the individual supports or columns. They are preferably attached to the columns at the upper end of the column. The connections are preferably formed by pipes, in particular by metal pipes. These can be welded to one another, but are preferably screwed to one another or can be connected to one another by means of clamping or plug connections in order to increase the variability in the kit. The diameter of the pipes of the connections is usually smaller than that of the columns and is usually in the range from 1/4 to 1/10 of the column diameter. The connecting pipes are designed to receive water pipes and / or electrical lines. In particular, the connecting pipe, which runs from a column with the control and changeover fittings to the central node, usually contains the largest number of lines, because here not only the water-carrying lines to the overhead shower, but also the water-carrying lines for the side showers in others Pillars are carried out and, if necessary, electrical lines for lighting in the individual columns, etc.

At least two, preferably three to four, side showers can be arranged in each column. The column with the control and changeover fittings can also have side showers. The hand shower is preferably arranged on the column having the control and switching devices and connected to it via a flexible hose. As a rule, a centrally arranged overhead shower, which is located below the junction of the connections, is sufficient. Instead of this central overhead shower or in addition to this, further overhead showers can be provided in a star shape around the central node on the connecting pipes. The connections, in particular the connecting pipes, are designed as stiffeners for the columns and fix their upper ends. The compounds are preferred arcuate and form a kind of roof beams above the shower facility, which can be arcuate or pyramid-shaped.

In a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, all operating devices, display devices, additional devices, showers, etc. are located on the columns or connections. As a result, walls of the room in which the shower device is located, which may serve as additional support, can remain free of such devices and do not need to be changed. At most, supply lines for water and / or electrical supply lines from the walls of the shower device can be provided, provided that a supply line into the columns from below, which is the rule, is not possible in special cases.

2 and 3
sectional partial views of another embodiment of the shower device according to the invention.

The shower device shown in FIG. 1 has four aligned, free-standing columns 1 to 4, each arranged in a corner of an imaginary square, on a base plate 5, for example the tiled one Floor of a bathroom, are mounted and each have a constant square cross-section.

The four columns 1 to 4 are each sloped towards the inside in the upper region and connected to one another via a cross-shaped connecting piece 6. This connecting piece 6 has four star-shaped pipes 1 'to 4' which open into a central node piece 7, to which a overhead shower 8 is attached below.

The four columns 1 to 4 are hollow and - as will be explained later - are each designed to carry water. Three of them are each equipped with three side showers 9, the fourth with two side showers 9, a hand shower 10 and a fitting 11, by means of which the individual showers 8, 9 and / or 10 are actuated and the amount and temperature of the water emerging from them can be set by the user. In their upper area, the four columns 1 to 4 each have small lamps 12, for the actuation of which a switch 13 is provided on the column 2. One of the columns 3 has an inwardly open recess 14 which can be used by the user as a shelf for shower utensils.

The four columns 1 to 4 shown in FIG. 1 are, as already mentioned, mounted on a floor 5. If desired, they could also be attached to the edge of an appropriately sized shower tray. Such a shower tray 15 is provided in the embodiment, of which partial sectional views are shown in FIGS. 2 and 3. In contrast to the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, columns 16 are provided in the embodiment shown in partial views in FIGS. 2 and 3, each of which is circular-cylindrical in cross section.

In the embodiment shown in Figures 2 and 3 in partial views, the shower tray 15 forms, together with the columns 16 attached to its edge 17, a unit which is supported by several height-adjustable supports 18 against the floor 19 of a bathroom, for example, the supports 18 in each case are arranged below the tub rim 17 so that they are aligned with the columns 16 arranged above the tub rim 17.

The supports 18 consist of a base part 20 with an internal thread, into which a screw bolt 21 can be screwed from above, which can be secured against rotation via a nut 22. At its end facing away from the base part 20, the screw bolt 21 is rigidly connected, for example welded, to an adjusting plate 23. This adjustment plate 23, which could also be referred to as the head of the screw bolt 21, has an adjustment pin 24 directed downwards. For this and the screw bolt 21, appropriately sized insertion holes are provided in the edge 17 of the shower tray 15, so that the adjusting plate 23 is secured against rotation when it has been aligned with the interposition of a resilient intermediate washer 25 made of rubber and has thus been placed on the edge 17 of the shower tray 15, that the adjusting pin 24 and the screw 21 protrude through the holes provided for them in the tub rim 17. Below the edge 17 of the shower tray 15, a counter plate 26 is provided, which has corresponding openings for the insertion holes for the adjusting pin 24 and the screw 21. To secure this counterplate 26, a nut 27 with washer 28 is screwed onto the screw bolt 21.

The edge 17 of the shower tray 15 and the plates 23 and 26 in the assembled state in the area of each support 18 at the top and bottom have eccentric openings aligned with one another, namely a relatively large opening 29 for the passage shown on the right in FIG. 2 a water pipe and electrical cable and two openings 30, of which only one is shown in FIG. 2. The openings 30 serve in cooperation with fastening bolts 31 for fastening a relatively thick flange 32 which forms the lower end of the column 16.

Hierbei wird vorzugsweise folgendermaßen vorgegangen:Before installing the shower tray 15, which can be made of plastic, for example, it is first provided with a plurality of supports 18, the number of which corresponds to the number of columns that are later to be attached to the tub rim 17. The procedure is preferably as follows:

First, holes are drilled with the help of a template at the points on the edge of the tub where the columns are to be supported. Subsequently, the intermediate plate 25 is pushed onto the screw bolt 21 and aligned so that the adjusting pin 24 protrudes through the opening assigned to it in the intermediate plate 25. Then the screw 21 is pushed through the hole provided in the edge 17 of the shower tray 15 and the adjusting plate 23 is aligned by turning so that its adjusting pin 24 is aligned with the opening in the tub rim 17 and can be inserted into it. Once this has been done, the counter plate 26 is pushed onto the screw bolt 21 and aligned with the adjusting pin 24, so that it is now also secured against rotation. Then the washer 28 is pushed on and the nut 27 screwed and tightened. Once this has been done, a nut 22 and a base part 20 are screwed onto the free end of the screw bolt 21. If all supports 18 are mounted accordingly, the shower tray 15 can be set up and adjusted. The latter is easily possible by rotating one and / or the other base part 20, which can be secured against loosening after adjustment by the nut 22 assigned to it.

The columns 16 have a tubular jacket 33 made of plastic and, as already mentioned, are each closed at the bottom by a flange 32. The flanges 32 have open recesses to the edge 17 of the trough 15, the dimensions of which correspond to those of the adjusting plate 23, so that the flanges 32 can be placed on the adjusting plates 23 when the columns 16 are set up, until the jacket 33 of the columns is at the top the edge 17 of the shower tray 15 touched. The flanges 32 are fastened in the columns 16, preferably by gluing or screwing. In order to prevent condensation from forming in the interior of the columns 16 which cannot drain off, each of the flanges 32 has at least one groove 34 which runs vertically after the columns 16 have been erected, and the jacket 33 has a small outlet opening 35 communicating therewith.

If the columns 16 are placed on their respective adjustment plates 23, they can be held in this position in the simplest manner by the aforementioned fastening bolts 31, for which 32 insertion holes 36 are provided in the flanges. In order to prevent loosening of these fastening bolts 31, locking pins 37 are provided, for which correspondingly dimensioned insertion holes 38 are provided in the flanges 32. The fastening bolts 31 are fastened before the flanges 32 are fastened in the column jackets 33 and are dimensioned in length in such a way that after the columns 16 have been set up, they protrude through the adjusting plate 23, the intermediate plate 25, the rim 17 and the counter plate 26 and from below can be secured against pulling out by a nut 39.

In the interior of the column 16 corresponding to the column 2 in FIG. 1, two water pipes 40 run, of which only one is shown in FIG. 2. One of these lines 40 is used to supply cold water, the other to supply hot water. For both, preferably as plastic or metal pipes Trained lines 40 are provided in the flange 32 through holes 41 which are aligned with correspondingly dimensioned through holes in the edge 17 of the tub 15 and the two plates 23 and 26 and are dimensioned such that the lines 40 can be sealed in them by a profile ring seal 42 to the flange . In the column 16 corresponding to column 2 in FIG. 1, the water lines 40 lead via a mixing valve to the above-mentioned fitting 11. From there, separate water lines 43, which contain tempered mixed water, lead to the individual showers 8, 9 and 10. The hand shower 10 is supplied via its own water pipe. The remaining showers, ie the overhead shower 8 and the side shower 9 are supplied via separate feed lines 43 and 43 '. These first run in the interior of the column 16 corresponding to the column 2 in FIG. 1, then through the pipe 2 'connected to the column piece 7. From there, a line runs directly to the overhead shower 8 and via the spider-shaped pipes 1', 3 '. and 4 'to the columns associated with these tubes. An upper cross connection of the individual columns can be provided, but is then preferably not water-bearing. The individual columns in the exemplary embodiments shown are preferably connected to one another in the upper region via the tube spindle formed by the four tubes 1 'to 4' and the node piece 7, which is preferably designed and arranged such that the node piece 7 is located after the tube spider has been installed located above the top of the column. The tubular spider formed by the four tubes 1 'to 4' and the node piece 7 is preferably designed so that it can be placed as a unit on the upper ends of the column after preassembly and after connecting the lines guided in it.

To generate hot / cold alternating showers, the changeover element or the mixing valve can be set up in such a way that the shower temperature changes abruptly at predetermined intervals.
