Description

The invention relates to a sheet metal container with a closure, in which the sheet metal container has a container socket with a circumferential, outwardly directed latching edge and a cylindrical inner wall, in which the closure is inserted into the container socket with a tubular extension and lies sealingly against its inner wall, in which the closure is inserted Has base part with flange, which lies sealingly on the end face of the container neck, and in which a retaining ring engages behind the latching edge of the container neck with the latching bead directed inward and fixes the closure on the container neck.

A container of this type, which can preferably be produced from plastic, is known from DE-A1 35 36 514. The locking edge is designed as a circumferential locking bead with increased wall thickness of the container neck. This type of locking edge is not easy to manufacture in a sheet metal container. In addition, the ring part is a part separate from the closure, which is subsequently attached to the container neck after the closure has been attached.

From FR-A 22 81 279 it is known to connect the container neck as a separate part with a locking edge of the sheet metal container, the locking edge being designed as a circular arc of 180 ° and over flared flank walls passes into the container wall. The closure is another part that is connected to the container neck.

From FR-A 15 84 609 a closure for a sheet metal container is known which has a U-shaped base part made of a tubular extension and a ring part. The pipe neck seals against the inner wall of a cylindrical container neck. The latching edge of the container neck is a circular arc of 180 °, which is directed outwards. However, the container neck is drawn in so that it is flush with the container wall. The outside of the ring part lies against a shoulder of the container wall. This means that the latching between the base part and the container neck cannot be optimally designed, since the parts can only be deflected slightly in the region of the latching connection.

It is an object of the invention to provide a sheet metal container with a closure of the type mentioned in the introduction, in which the container neck can be easily produced on the sheet metal container, in which no ring part separate from the closure is required, and in which the seal with improved sealing has a definite latching on the container neck can be attached.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that the container neck is pushed out over the level of the container wall of the sheet metal container and is rolled in the region of its removal opening to a circular arc of 180 ° and thus forms the latching edge and that the retaining ring of the closure is made in one piece on the flange the base part is molded and pressed onto the container neck.

The container neck remains cylindrical and is pressed outwards on the container wall. The locking edge is rolled so that it forms a circular arc of 180 °. The retaining ring is integrally formed on the flange of the base part of the closure. Since the container neck protrudes from the container wall, the retaining ring can be deflected sufficiently far for a clear snap connection. The base part is pressed onto the container neck, so that the flange rests under tension on the front side of the container neck and thus brings a clear seal between the container neck and the closure in this area. In this way, not only the attachment of the container neck to the sheet metal container, but also the design and manufacture of the closure including its attachment to the container neck is simplified and facilitated.

The plugging and pressing of the base part of the closure onto the container neck is facilitated in that conical insertion lugs are formed on the tube attachment and in that the retaining ring is provided with an opposing insertion slope, and in that the annular bead is formed intermittently on the retaining ring.

The invention is explained in more detail with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawing with partial section.

In the drawing, a closure 20 is shown, which is connected to a container neck 11 of a sheet metal container. It is a known closure 20 with a pouring spout which can be pulled out via a bellows 27. The type of closure 20 has no influence on the invention.

The container neck 11 has a cylindrical inner wall and is pushed out of the container wall 10 so that it protrudes from the container wall 10. The shutter 20 runs in a U-shaped base part 21, which has a tube extension 22 which is sealingly inserted into the container neck 11. A flange 23 adjoins the tube extension 22, which lies sealingly on the end face of the container neck 11. This end face of the container neck 11 forms the removal opening and is rolled out as a locking edge 12 with a circular arc of 180 °. The retaining ring 24 is integrally formed on the flange 23 of the base part 21 with the inwardly directed locking bead 25. The base part 21 is pressed onto the container neck 11 when the closure 20 is attached, so that after the snap-in bead 25 engages behind the latching edge 12, the flange 23 is under tension on the container neck 11 and in this area there is a clear seal between the base part 21 of the closure 20 and the container neck 11 brings. The retaining ring 24 has enough space on the outside to be deflected for an excellent locking connection.

Conical insertion lugs 26 are attached to the tube extension 22 and the retaining ring 24 can also have an opposite insertion slope, so that centering is carried out when the base part 21 is pressed onto the container neck 11.
