    e1) positioning the slide (14) in an initial undershrinkage position, in which the shrink heater (7) covers the lower bottom area of the unit (3) and in which the revolving table performs at least one complete revolution without any slide movement, the shrinkage area (21) progressively covering a lower part of the film (2) projecting over the unit (3) in the circumferential direction,
    e2) upward movement of the slide (14) whilst simultaneously rotating the revolving table (9) along the circumferential area and in which the shrinkage area (21) gradually shrinks the film (2) from bottom to top,
    e3) sensing the upper edge of the unit by means of the sensor (19) and positioning the slide (14) in an overshrinkage position following the upward movement, in which the shrink heater (7) covers the top area for at least a complete revolution of the revolving table (9) substantially without any slide movement, the shrinkage area (21) progressively covering an upper part of the film (2) in the circumferential direction.
  2. Apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that the shrinkage area (21) of the shrink heater (6), starting from a vertical central axis (10) of the packing film (2), covers the circumference of the packing film (2) over an arc angle of less than 180°, particularly less than 90° and preferably less than 10°.
  3. Apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the upward movement of the slide (14) is controllable with variable speed and in particular with upwardly increasing speed and that the shrinkage area (21) is of substantially constant size over the entire shrinkage web (22).
  4. Apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that for the shrinkage area (21) at least one separate heating head (7) is provided and is preferably mounted in removable manner.
  5. Apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that a reception stand (8) carrying the column is fixed in the vertical direction and the shrink heater (6) is arranged in moveable manner with a lifting device (13).
  6. Apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the shrink heater (6) is adjustably transversely arranged to the circumference of the packing film (2) and preferably the column (12) can be moved in several column mounting supports or is movably mounted with a cross slide (15).
  7. Apparatus according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the shrink heater (6) is guided in its radial position relative to the vertical central axis (10) of the packing film (2) with a copying device (17) directly scanning the circumference of the packing product unit (3).
