Description

The invention relates to a method for renewing the visible surfaces of a ceded wooden stair step, in which a wooden bumper strip and a hardwood or hardwood surface at least on the surface are attached to the ceded stair step.

In a known method of the type specified, compare GB 1 559 379 Fig. 2, a wooden bumper is attached to the trodden step trimmed in the abutting edge area, and then a plywood flooring is placed on the bumper and the trodden step, the walking surface being ceded areas bridged.

Trimming the ceded step is labor intensive and should therefore be avoided.

The invention is therefore based on the object of specifying a method with which one can work inexpensively and achieve a relatively quick assembly.

This object is achieved in that on the ceded step above its original height protruding wooden strips are attached, which are either only enclosed or inserted into milled grooves, that a U-shaped metal rail encompassing the abutting edge is attached to the stepped step, which has means for carrying the bumper strip on its web and its upper flank with the wooden strips is flush that the walking surface connected to a wooden support with the bumper is fixed by means of mounting foam, that the walking surface is held down against the pressure of the mounting foam by the bumper attached to the spacer bars of the staircase following upwards.

After the assembly foam has hardened, the worn step is firmly and securely connected to the new tread element. No fasteners can be seen after the finished assembly. Subsequent sanding and painting can therefore be omitted if this has already been done during the manufacture of the wooden support.

The advantages achieved by the invention are that a new, secure wooden support for a stepped wooden step has been created, which is the same as the previously undamaged step, is relatively quick to assemble and also has a fastening method which is invisible after assembly and it a relatively weak walking surface can be installed because this is supported in the assigned positions. Wood dust from sanding down the step support and the strong smell from painting can be dispensed with, since this work can already be carried out during the manufacture of the wooden support.

The invention also relates to two metal rails for carrying out the method according to claim 1.

Metallschienen, die die Stoßkante abgetretener Treppenstufen U - förmig umgreifen, sind bekannt, vergleiche DE PS 1 683 405.Metal rails which grip the abutting edge of worn steps in a U shape are known, compare DE PS 1 683 405.

However, these known metal rails are not intended to carry wooden bumpers.

There is therefore the task of providing means for carrying one bumper strip at a time.

This object is achieved in a generic metal rail by the characterizing features of both claim 2 and claim 4.

This means that the bumper strip can be installed more quickly.
