- a piston of the generic type is known from DE-OS 28 21 176.
- the upper and lower parts of the piston are connected with relatively few screws, e.g. B. with four screws with a piston diameter above 200 mm.
- the ring surfaces stand out slightly from each other under the thermal and mechanical stresses prevailing in engine operation. This then leads to increased pressures in the areas which are only in contact with one another, with the result that the materially permissible maximum loads are exceeded there.
- cavitation can occur in the areas in which the ring surfaces stand out slightly from one another.
- the piston consists of an upper part 1 and a lower part 2, which are connected by screws 3.
- the illustration of the piston shows this with assembled but not yet tightened screws 3.
- these are slightly curved in the lower part 2 in the circumferential direction of the ring surface with the zenith of the curvature 6 exactly in one area in the Middle of two adjacent screws 3-.
- the screw hole 7 itself is additionally arranged in a depression 5 in the annular surface 4 of the lower part 2.

Abstract
In a multi-part plunger for internal combustion engines, in which the upper (1) and lower part (2) of the piston lie on overlapping ring surfaces (4) and there are screws (3) penetrating through the ring surfaces (4), at least one of them Annular surfaces (4) are curved in the circumferential direction in such a way that the annular surfaces are more elastically braced in the area between the screws in the fully assembled piston than in the areas around the screws (3). Such elastic prestressing of the ring surfaces (4) areas between the screws (3) is intended to reliably prevent lifting of the ring surfaces in these areas during engine operation. In the cold state of the fully assembled pistons, the ring surfaces (4) lie evenly against one another over the entire circumference, but with different preloads in some areas.
Description
The invention relates to a multi-part plunger for internal combustion engines according to the preamble of claim 1.
A piston of the generic type is known from DE-OS 28 21 176. In cases where the upper and lower parts of the piston are connected with relatively few screws, e.g. B. with four screws with a piston diameter above 200 mm, it can happen in practice that the ring surfaces stand out slightly from each other under the thermal and mechanical stresses prevailing in engine operation. This then leads to increased pressures in the areas which are only in contact with one another, with the result that the materially permissible maximum loads are exceeded there. Furthermore, cavitation can occur in the areas in which the ring surfaces stand out slightly from one another.
It is therefore an object of the invention to develop a generic piston in such a way that, in all operating states of the internal combustion engine, a secure bearing of the piston upper and lower piston parts braced against one another is ensured.
This object is achieved by the characterizing features of claim 1.
Zweckmäßige Ausgestaltungen sind in den Unteransprüchen enthalten.Appropriate configurations are contained in the subclaims.
Ein Ausführungsbeispiel ist in der Zeichnung dargestellt. Diese zeigt einen mehrteiligen Kolben im Schnitt. An embodiment is shown in the drawing. This shows a multi-part piston in section.
The piston consists of an upper part 1 and a
In the fully assembled piston upper and
