Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the regulation of the output of a sensor with a simple means by a method wherein the reference voltage of a comparator is switched between two levels and delaying and maintaining the state of the output. CONSTITUTION:The output V1 of a sensor and a reference voltage Vcc are applied to the (-) input terminal and the (+) input terminals, respectively, of a comparator 7. When the output voltage Vc of the comparator 7 exceeds a first reference voltage VPH with the increase of the output V1, the comparator 7 is switched on to generate an output pulse V2. Consequently, the output terminal of the comparator 7 becomes fanout free, namely, earth potential, so that an LED8 is lighted and the reference voltage is changed to a second reference voltage VPL. The voltage Vc will not change until the output V1 drops to the voltage VPL. When the output voltage V1 becomes smaller than the voltage VPL and the comparator 7 is switched off, the output terminal of the comparator 7 becomes high impedance. Consequently, the LED8 is switched off until the output V1 reach the voltage VPH. Thus the lighting period of the LED8 is extended to allow accurate level regulation.
