- the light source 2 is shown only schematically in the drawing and represents the entire emergency light 1.
- the luminous flux required for illuminating the surface 4 is calculated once under the conditions of conventional conditions, namely that the illuminance decreases radially outwards from the base and the minimum illuminance, e.g. 2 lux, is achieved (which results in correspondingly higher illuminance levels in the vicinity of the base point F) and, on the other hand, the case where means (not shown in FIG. 5) for producing a uniform light distribution produce the horizontal illuminance level over the entire illuminated area Area is constant, it follows that in the latter case the required luminous flux is seven times less than in the first case.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an emergency light with a light source with a substantially uniform radiation characteristic.
There are very significant differences between normal and emergency lighting because there is a different lighting level and a different visual task. The level of illumination, ie the adaptation in the case of emergency lighting, is in the range of mesopic vision, while the general lighting takes place in photopic vision. This means that the evaluation of a brightness pattern with emergency lighting is different than with normal lighting. For example, reliable color recognition is no longer guaranteed for emergency lighting. In addition, only rough details need to be recognized in the emergency lighting. Questions about the convenience of lighting and similar items that are of considerable importance in general lighting are addressed in emergency lighting not asked at all. In addition, a completely different type of glare is considered in emergency lighting. While avoiding glare in normal indoor lighting means avoiding psychological glare, physiological glare can be assumed for emergency lighting, ie a measurable change in visual function, such as visual acuity. This requirement in turn leads to completely different criteria for the luminaire to be built. For this reason, the emergency lights used up to now cannot satisfy either, since they are basically constructed in the same way as lights for normal indoor lighting, from which they differ only by a relatively lower light intensity. In addition, considerable problems arise from the fact that only a small electrical power output is available in the case of emergency lighting, which in turn means that in the relatively low light intensity of the individual lamps, they also have to be at a large distance from one another, which in turn radiates the usable area, for example an escape route or the like is very difficult.
The difficulties with the previously used normal lights for emergency lighting purposes can be solved by changing the light radiation by the design of the reflector and / or by the addition of refracting elements in such a way that uniform illuminance is achieved in one plane of use.
The achievement of a uniform illuminance in a large area by only one lamp represents something completely different from the uniform illumination of a room with normal lighting, in which a corresponding number of light sources are provided at a relatively short distance, the beam path of which overlaps to a more or less uniform illumination. In the case of emergency lighting in which the individual lights have to be very far apart, uniform illuminance cannot be achieved by superimposing the light from several light sources. If one wants to avoid glare from the lamp on the one hand and on the other hand to ensure sufficient visual conditions in the usable area, this can be achieved, combined with the requirement that only a low energy output is available, according to the knowledge on which the present invention is based, if of the previously usual principle of 'luminaire construction is abandoned and the beam path of the luminaire is specifically changed by designing the reflector and / or attachment of refracting elements such that - ideally - the same illuminance is present directly below the lamp as at a distance of a few meters.
In a further development of the invention, the reflector should be designed and the light source should be arranged in such a way that the uniform illumination of the usable surface is made up exclusively of rays reflected at most once, and that the distance from an area of the usable surface irradiated by a specific reflector section of the reflector The larger the distance of the reflector section from the reflector axis, the greater the axis of the gate.
Further refinements of the invention are described in the subclaims.
The invention will be explained below with reference to the drawing.
Je nachdem ob sich die Lichttrahlen in einem Gebiet vor der Optik noch einmal überkreuzen, sind zwei Typen von Optiken gemäß der Erfindung möglich (Fig. 1 und 2).Depending on whether the light beams cross again in an area in front of the optics, two types of optics are possible according to the invention (FIGS. 1 and 2).
The angular position of the reflector element depends on its position in relation to the lamp and usable surface element and results from the laws of geometric optics.
The shape of the reflector results from the additional condition that there should be no discontinuities on the reflector surface within the course of a beam path, except at seams when the beam path passes type I into type II, or if a beam path to build up the reflector is repeated several times (Fig. 3, 4).
The shape of the reflector cannot be represented analytically in a simple manner; the calculation process mentioned is also the definition of the reflector surfaces.
Despite careful manufacture of the reflector, light intensity peaks can occur due to inaccuracies. These can be compensated for by a light structure on the reflector surface. Matting the lamps or the use of lamps matted in the manufacturing process can also reduce irregularities.
An increase in luminaire efficiency can be achieved if the luminous flux of the lamp that does not fall directly on the reflector is directed onto the reflector by an additional dome mirror. This is also achieved through the use of domed mirrored lamps.
The use of discharge lamps with small filament dimensions in comparison to the reflector also represents a possible application of the construction principle according to the invention.
The
To assist in achieving a uniform light distribution, additional devices 5 can be provided, which are only indicated schematically in FIG. 6.
Such devices can e.g. be appropriately shaped lenses, or lenses in combination with one or more additional reflectors. In addition, the use of lenses or lens combinations is also within the scope of the possibilities according to the invention for achieving uniform light distribution.
Also only schematically and not to scale, an aperture ring 6 is shown in FIG. a diffuser, scattered light beams so limited that the maximum beam angle ℓ max does not exceed a certain value, approximately 65 °.
On the other hand, a corresponding dimensioning of the
Die Lichtquelle 2 ist in der Zeichnung lediglich schematisch dargestell und repräsentiert die gesamte Notleuchte 1.5 shows the geometric relationships which are used as a basis for calculating the required luminous flux for an
On the basis of the designations mentioned, the luminous flux required for illuminating the
