Description
Apparatus for making eyes on wires and the like Devices known by means of which in the manufacture of eyes on wires with high breaking strength, the coils (curls) are wound around the outgoing wire will. This is done for the purpose of giving the wire eye a hold and opening of the eye due to the tension in the wire. The invention lies the task is to improve and perfect the previously known To achieve tools and devices (turning or strangling iron).
The subject of the invention is a device for producing Wire eyes and the like, which are identified by, (le, (leave them on a holding iron with a # nickel mandrel and one that can be placed on the winding mandrel and rotated around it Moving iron consists, through which the wire to be processed by means of a nose on Moving iron can be guided around the mandrel. The device can continue to do so be designed that the wire forming the eye around a continuous suspension cable or the like. Can be looped around. According to the invention, the holding iron is used for this purpose with a longitudinal groove suitable for receiving the supporting wire penetrating the eye or recess, in addition, the part of the Moving iron slotted so that the moving iron on the support wire in its recess receiving mandrel can be pushed.
In the following, the invention will be described in more detail by means of an exemplary embodiment explained.
I and 2 show different views of the holding iron with winding mandrel; Fig. 3 and -1 show the moving iron again; 5 shows a wire part on which an eye is bent by means of the device according to the invention. In FIG. I, a denotes the holding iron, b the winding mandrel, which is seated on the side of the holding iron a and may, under certain circumstances, be slightly conical; ci and c. are two lugs or lugs attached to the holding iron, which form a bearing point c for receiving the wire to be formed into an eye.
Fig. 2 leaves the arrangement of the free end of the wire before winding the Recognize the eye.
The moving iron shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 has at one end a bore h into which the winding mandrel b can be inserted. On one side of the moving iron is provided with the nose i, which is used to guide the wire when forming the eye. The end of the moving iron g facing away from the bore h is provided with the U-shaped bend 1 . On one end face, the U-shaped bent part of the rotating iron is worked out on its two legs at in or provided with lugs suitable for gripping one end of the wire. As a result of this design of the free end of the rotating iron, the latter can be used after the production of the eye for wrapping the free end of the wire around the continuous wire part. Rotary or winding iron of this type with U-shaped parts for producing the curl are known per se.
As can be seen in FIGS. 1 and 2, a recess or groove e can be provided on the U-shaped mandrel which enables a continuous support wire or the like to be received. In this case, as can be seen in FIG. 4 , the moving iron should have a slot k which makes it possible to push the end of the moving iron provided with the bore h over the continuous support wire.
The formation of the eye takes place in the following way: The 'angularly bent wire d is placed between the shoulders ci and c2 or in the bearing point c in such a way that the free end of the slightly bent wire d protrudes to the side. Then the moving iron is pushed from one side with the opening h over the mandrel b so that the nose i (Fig. 3) engages behind the free end of the wire d. The end of the wire can now be wound one or more times around the mandrel b as an axis. The wire assumes the shape according to FIG. 5 . Then the moving iron is removed, the wire eye formed on the winding mandrel is pulled out of the bearing point c and the holding iron a is brought into such a position by turning about go 'that the mandrel holds the eye while turning the curl. The free end of the twisted wire is now gripped by the U-shaped bent part of the rotating iron and wound around the continuous wire part several times so that the eye is tightly closed, one of the noses grasping behind the wire. Basically, the way of working is the same when the eye is wound around a continuous Tragdralit. In this case, the holding iron a is held on the Tragdralit that it lies in the groove e. The moving iron g is pushed through the slot k first over the support wire and then with the hole li over the winding mandrel.
