Description
- Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein neues Polyfluoralkanoylperoxid.
- Herkömmlicherweise werden Perfluoralkanoylperoxide als Polymerisationskatalysatoren für Fluormonomere verwendet. In der japanischen Patentoffenlegungsschrift Nr. 10290/1974 ist beispielsweise als Katalysator zur Kopolymerisation von Tetrafluorethylen und Hexafluorpropen ein durch die Formel (II)
- R(CF&sub2;)m OO (CF&sub2;)mR (II)
- dargestelltes Perfluoralkanoylperoxid offenbart, wobei R ein Wasserstoff- oder Fluoratom und in eine ganze Zahl von 2 bis 24 darstellt.
- Andererseits wurde im Journal of the Organic Chemistry, Vol. 47, S. 2009, 1982 ein Perfluoralkanoylperoxid erwähnt, das durch die Formel
- dargestellt wird.
- Es ist bekannt, dar langkettige Perfluoralkylgruppen im allgemeinen als Polymerisationinitiatoren für die Herstellung von Harzen einsetzbar sind, da sie hinsichtlich ihrer wasser- und ölabweisenden Eigenschaften überlegen sind.
- Bei der Herstellung des Peroxids der vorstehenden Formel (II), in der die Perfluoralkylgruppe R(CF&sub2;)m eine langkettige Perfluoralkylgruppe mit m von 6 oder mehr ist, kann jedoch Blasenbildung während der Herstellung auftreten, da die langkettige Perfluoralkylgruppe wasser- und ölabweisend ist, so daß die Ausbeute des Peroxidproduktes beträchtlich verringert wird.
- So besteht ein Bedarf an Polyfluoralkanoylperoxiden mit langkettigen Perfluoralkylgruppen, die neu und in industriellem Maßstab leicht herstellbar sind.
- So ist es die prinzipielle Aufgabe der Erfindung, neue Polyfluoralkanoylperoxide zur Verfügung zu stellen, die als Polymerisationskatalysatoren zur Herstellung von Harzen und auch als Fluoralkylierungsmittel verwendbar sind.
- Erfindungsgemäß wird ein Polyfluoralkanoylperoxid mit der Formel (I)
- bereitgestellt, wobei n&sub1; und n&sub2; gleich sind und jeweils eine ganze Zahl von 1 bis 4 darstellen.
- Nachstehend wird die Erfindung genauer beschrieben.
- Das Polyfluoralkanoylperoxid der Erfindung wird durch die folgende Formel (I)
- dargestellt, wobei n&sub1; und n&sub2; gleich sind und jeweils eine ganze Zahl von 1 bis 4 darstellen.
- Die durch die Formel (I) dargestellten Polyfluoralkanoylperoxide beinhalten Bis-(Perfluor-2,5-dimethyl-3,6-dioxanonanoyl)peroxid, Bis-(Perfluor-2,5,8-trimethyl-3,6,9-trioxadodecanoyl)peroxid, Bis-[Perfluor-2,5,8,11-tetramethyl-3,6,9,12- tetraoxa-(pentadecanoyl) ]peroxide und Bis-(Perfluor- 2,5,8,11,14-pentamethyl-3,6,9,12,15-pentaoxaoctadecanoyl)- peroxid.
- Erfindungsgemäß kann das Polyfluoralkanoylperoxid der vorstehenden Formel (I) mit einem ersten Verfahren hergestellt werden, indem ein durch die folgende Formel (III)
- dargestelltes Acylfluorid, in der n eine ganze Zahl von 1 bis 4 darstellt, mit Wasserstoffperoxid in Gegenwart einer Verbindung, ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Natriumhydroxid, Kaliumhydroxid, Natriumhydrogencarbonat, Kaliumhydrogencarbonat, Natriumcarbonat, Kaliumcarbonat und Mischungen aus diesen, umgesetzt wird und nachstehend als Komponente A bezeichnet wird oder es kann mit einem zweiten Verfahren hergestellt werden, indem das Acylflorid der vorstehenden Formel (III) mit einer Verbindung ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Natriumperoxid, Kaliumperoxid, Bariumperoxid und Mischungen aus diesen umgesetzt und nachstehend als Komponente B bezeichnet wird.
- In dem vorstehend erwähnten ersten Verfahren kann das molare Mischverhältnis von Acylflorid, Wasserstoffperoxid und der Komponente A vorzugsweise im Bereich von 1 : 0,3 zu 20 : 0,3 zu 10 und insbesondere bevorzugt im Bereich von 1 : 0,5 zu 10 : 0,5 zu 7 liegen. Im zweiten Verfahren kann das molare Mischverhältnis von Acylflorid zur Komponente B vorzugsweise 1 : 0,3 zu 20 und insbesondere bevorzugt 1: 0,5 zu 15 sein. Ein molares Mischverhältnis des Wasserstoffperoxids und der Komponente A zu Acylflorid oberhalb von jeweils 2 und 10 oder ein molares Mischverhältnis der Komponente B zu Acylflorid oberhalb von 20 ist nicht wünschenswert, da die Ausbeute des gewonnenen Polyfluoralkanoylperoxid verringert wird. Ein molares Mischverhältnis von weniger als 0,3 ist ebenfalls nicht wünschenswert, da die Reaktionszeit verlängert und die Produktausbeute verringert wird. Die entsprechenden Komponenten A und B werden vorzugsweise in Wasser gelöst, um dem Reaktionssystem zugegeben zu werden. Die Konzentrationen der Komponenten A und B in wässriger Lösung sind vorzugsweise jeweils im Bereich von 1 - 60 Gew.-% und insbesondere bevorzugt im Bereich von 5 - 30 Gew.-%. Obige Konzentrationen von über 60 Gew.-% sind nicht wünschenswert, da die Produktausbeute verringert wird, wogegen die Konzentration von weniger als 1 Gew.-% ebenso nicht wünschenswert sind, da der Reaktionswirkungsgrad so gering wird, daß die Verfahren nicht industriell anwendbar sind.
- Die Reaktionstemperatur und die Reaktionsdauer sowohl für das oben beschriebene erste als auch das zweite Verfahren sind vorzugsweise jeweils -30 bis +50ºC und 0,5 bis 10 Stunden.
- Im industriellen Maßstab wird die vorstehende Reaktion vorzugsweise in einem aliphatischen Lösungsmittel mit Fluor- und/oder Chloratomen, wie beispielsweise 1,1,2-Trichlor- 1,2,2-trifluorethan durchgeführt. Die bevorzugte Reaktionstemperatur zu diesem Zeitpunkt liegt im Bereich von -20 bis +20ºC.
- Das Polyfluoralkanoylperoxid der Erfindung ist eine neue Verbindung und ist wasser- und ölabweisend, so daß es als Polymerisationskatalysator für elektronenziehende Monomere wie Tetrafluorethylen, Vinylchlorid, Acrylnitril oder Hexafluorpropen verwendbar ist. Es ist auch verwendbar als Fluoralkylierungsmittel zur direkten Einführung einer Perfluoralkylgruppe
- des Polyfluoralkanoylperoxids in eine aromatische Verbindung wie etwa Benzol.
- Die Erfindung wird nun unter Bezugnahme auf Beispiele und Bezugsbeispiele genauer erklärt.
- In einen Vierhalskolben, der mit einem Rührer, einem Thermometer und einem Tropftrichter ausgestattet ist, wurden 3,37 g (0,06 mol) Kaliuinhydroxid und 28 g Wasser zur Lösung eingefüllt. Nach Zugabe von 120 g 1,1,2-Trichlor-1,2,2-trifluorethan unter Rühren zu der Lösung, wurde die entstehende Mischung dann auf etwa -5ºC abgekühlt und es wurden 6,8 g (0,06 mol) einer wässrigen Lösung mit 30 Gew.-% Wasserstoffperoxid zur Reaktionsmischung zugegeben. Dann wurde eine Lösung von 20 g (0,04 mol) Perfluor-2,5-dimethyl-3,6-dioxanonanoylfluorid in 20 g 1,1,2-Trichlor-1,2,2-trifluorethan der Reaktionsmischung 20 Minuten lang bei -5º bis +5ºC tropfenweise zugegeben. Nach 60-minütiger Alterung und Trennung einer organischen Phase wurde die Reaktionsmischung zweimal mit 200 ml Wasser gewaschen. Die hergestellte Verbindung wurde mit dem Iodometrie-Verfahren untersucht. Die Ausbeute des Produkts betrug 93 % (149 g), (die Ausbeute beruhte auf dem Gewicht des Acylfluorids). Nach Untersuchung konnte die hergestellte Verbindung als Bis-(Perfluor-2,5-dimethyl-3,6- dioxanonanoyl)peroxid mit einer Zersetzungstemperatur von 16,41ºC bei einer gewählten Halbwertszeit von 10 Stunden, einem Anteil an aktivem Sauerstoff von 0.20 % und einer Reinheit von 12,36 % identifiziert werden. Die Ergebnisse der Untersuchungen werden nachstehend gezeigt, wobei die thermische Zersetzungsgeschwindigkeit in der CF&sub2;ClCFCl&sub2;-Lösung der vorstehenden Verbindung mit einer Peroxidkonzentration von 0,02 mol/l in Tabelle 1 gezeigt ist:

- IR (cm&supmin;¹) 1825, 1870 (C=O), 1230 (CF&sub2;), 1320, 1340 (CF&sub3;) Tabelle 1 Temperatur Aktivierungsenergie
- Die Reaktion wurde auf gleiche Weise wie in Beispiel 1 durchgeführt, außer daß Perfluor-2,5,8-trimethyl-3,6,9-trioxadodecanoylfluorid anstelle von Perfluor-2,5-dimethyl-3,6-dioxanonanoylfluorid verwendet wurde. Als Ergebnis von ähnlichen Untersuchungen wie in Beispiel 1, konnte die hergestellte Verbindung als Bis-(Perfluor-2,5,8-trimethyl-3,6,9-triadodecanoyl)peroxid mit einer Zersetzungstemperatur von 15,8ºC bei gewählter Halbwertszeit von 10 Stunden, einem Anteil an aktivem Sauerstoff von 0,20 % und einer Reinheit von 16,53 % identifiziert werden. Die Ausbeute betrug 90 % (145 g). Die Ergebnisse der Untersuchungen sind wie nachstehend gezeigt:
- Genaue Masse: m/z : 1322.1800, C&sub2;&sub4;F&sub4;&sub6;O&sub1;&sub0; : 1322.1844 (berechneter Wert)
- ¹&sup9;F-NMR (CF&sub2;ClCFCl&sub2; + CDCl&sub3; δ ppm hochfeldverschoben bezüglich externem CF&sub3;CO&sub2;H)
- 1.2 bis 4.5 (36F), 50.4 (4F), 49.3 (2F), 60.3 (4F)
- IR (cm&supmin;¹) 1825, 1860 (C=O), 1230 (CF&sub2;), 1335 (CF&sub3;)
- Die Reaktion wurde auf gleiche Weise wie in Beispiel 1 ausgeführt, außer daß Perfluor-2,5,8,11-tetramethyl-3,6,9,12- tetraoxapentadecanoylfluorid anstelle von Perfluor-2,5-dimethyl-3,6-dioxanonanoylfluorid verwendet wurde. Als Ergebnis von ähnlichen Untersuchungen wie in Beispiel 1, konnte die hergestellte Verbindung als Bis-(Perfluor-2,5,8,11-tetramethyl-3,6,9,12-tetraoxapentadecanoyl)peroxid mit einer Zersetzungstemperatur von 15.0º C bei einer gewählten Halbwertszeit von 10 Stunden, einem Anteil an aktivem Sauerstoff von 0,20 % und einer Reinheit von 20,68 % identifiziert werden. Die Ausbeute betrug 88 % (141 g). Die Ergebnisse der Untersuchungen sind nachstehend gezeigt:
- Genaue Masse: m/z : 1654.2359, C&sub3;&sub0;F&sub5;&sub8;O&sub1;&sub2; : 1654.2300 (berechneter Wert)
- ¹&sup9;F-NMR (CF&sub2;ClCFCl&sub2; + CDCl&sub3; δ ppm hochfeldverschoben bezüglich externem CF&sub3;CO&sub2;H)
- 1.2 bis 4.5 (46F), 50.4 (4F), 49.3 (2F), 60.3 (6F)
- IR (cm&supmin;¹) 1820, 1865 (C=O), 1225 (CF&sub2;), 1340 (CF&sub3;)
- Die Reaktion wurde in gleicher Weise wie in Beispiel 1 ausgeführt, außer dar Perfluor-2,5,8,11,14-pentamethyl- 3,6,9,12,15-pentaoxaoctadecanoylfluorid anstelle von Perfluor-2,5-dimethyl-3,6-dioxanonanoylfluorid verwendet wurde. Als Ergebnis von ähnlichen Untersuchungen wie in Beispiel 1 konnte die hergestellte Verbindung als Bis-(Perfluor- 2,5,8,11,14-pentamethyl-3,6,9,12,15-pentaoxaoctadecanoyl)peroxid mit einer Zersetzungstemperatur von 14,3ºC bei gewählter Halbwertszeit von 10 Stunden, einem Anteil an aktivem Sauerstoff von 0,20 % und einer Reinheit von 24,69 % identifiziert werden. Die Ausbeute betrug 84 % (138 g). Die Ergebnisse der Untersuchungen sind wie nachstehend gezeigt

- Polyfluoralkanoylperoxid mit der Formel (I)in der n&sub1; und n&sub2; gleich sind und jeweils eine ganze Zahl von 1 bis 4 darstellen.
