Description

Process for removing naphthalene and water from illuminating gas or the like. The main patent describes a process for removing naphthalene and water from illuminating gas or the like, which is supposed to be transported in long-distance gas lines at elevated pressure. The method according to the main patent is characterized, in that which is to be cleaned, coming from the compressor about 1 5 o not hot 'gas gradually cooled indirectly, in each cooling stage, but under the particular dew point for naphthalene and between the individual cooling stages washed with anthracene oil, whereupon the cooled gas is dried and then treated again with anthracene oil in a final wash.

For the practical implementation of the process according to the main patent, it is important to have anthracene oil with the lowest possible naphthalene content available, since the removal of the naphthalene from the gases depends on the naphthalene vapor pressure of the washing oil. The removal of the naphthalene: from the anthracene washing oil is associated with considerable difficulties because of its high boiling point. The naphthalene cannot be sufficiently driven off from the washing oil with steam at the temperature and voltage customary in coking plants and gas stations. Distillation devices directly heated with gas or the like, as used in tar distillations, are not applicable to coking plants and gas stations because of the great risk of fire. The invention, which relates to the solution to the problem, the naphthalene-containing washing oil from plants for the removal of naphthalene and water from luminous gas in a simple and safe way wi: ederzubeneben, ie to free from naphthalene, consists in that the anthracene washing oil in the circuit the gas treatment system and is passed through a device connected to the gas treatment system for resuscitation, in which the naphthalene absorbed by the C) 1 is freed by distillation with steam superheated to about 340 to 356 ' , which is electrically heated in an upstream distillation column superheater is being prepared.

The progress that can be achieved by the process according to the invention with regard to the removal of naphthalene from gases results from the following: Commercially available anthracene oil with a boiling point of 208 ° C. and a spec. Weight of 1.126 shows the following boiling analysis up to 200- '- - 26o ° 1.8 percent by volume - 28o "6, o - - 300` 1628 - - 3400 52.0 _ Such an oil has a considerable naphthalene content, as indicated by the large Zoo faction at up to 280 °. With .einem commercially available anthracene oil of the specified properties, naphthalene can only be washed out from gases up to about 3 to 5 g / 100 ncbm, ie from long-distance gas with 5 atmospheres; up to about 15 to 25 g / square meter. We - = -: but the naphthalene must be removed up to 1.5 g / ioo ncbm or 5 g / ioo cbm Veneus (5 Atü). The revival according to the invention @; @ In contrast, anthracene washing oil shows fdl = " , -. end boiling analysis: up to 28o ° - - 300 "i to 3 percent by volume _ 3400 52 _ This oil is practically naphthalene-free. Accordingly, the removal of the naphthalene from the remote gas with the revitalized oil succeeds perfectly.
