Description
- Die Erfindung, welche Einrichtungen für die verzögerte Freisetzung von Wirkstoffen in die Umgebung offenbart, umfasst eine elastomere Matrix und die in der Matrix enthaltenen Wirkstoffe. Die Matrix umfasst ein neues vernetztes Gel, und die Wirkstoffe können jegliche biologisch oder nicht-biologisch aktiven Stoffe sein, welche mit der Matrix kompatibel sind.
- Der Bedarf an einer kontrollierten und verzögerten Freisetzung eines Wirkstoffs in die Umgebung existiert auf vielen Gebieten, zum Beispiel im Wohn- und in anderen Verbraucherbereichen, in der Landwirtschaft und in der Telekommunikation und anderen Technologiebereichen, und der Stand der Technik kennt eine Vielzahl von Verfahren für die Erreichung einer derartigen Freisetzung.
- Matrizen, die in monolithischen Vorrichtungen zum Einsatz kamen, schließen plastifiziertes Polyvinylchlorid, Kautschuk (
US-Patent 3 318 769 ) und einige Polyurethane (US-Patente 4 594 380 und4 189 467 ) ein. Die Kautschukmatrizen werden typischerweise durch herkömmliche Verfahren der Kautschukchemie gehärtet, z. B. durch Schwefelvulkanisierung oder mittels Peroxiden (US-Patent 3 639 583 ). Diese Härtungsverfahren umfassen typischerweise einen Hochtemperaturschritt. Ein solcher Schritt ist häufig ein zu Komplikationen führender Faktor, wenn Wirkstoffe mit einem relativ hohen Dampfdruck oder Wirkstoffe, die einer Inaktivierung bei der erhöhten Temperatur unterliegen, in das Matrixmaterial eingebracht werden sollen. Die Bildung einer Polyurethan-Matrix erforderte das Reagieren von Polyolen mit Isocyanaten. Leider enthalten Chargen von Wirkstoffbestandteilen für die verzögerte Freisetzung Alkoholfunktionalität, welche mit den Polyolen in der Härtungsreaktion konkurriert. Als eine Folge davon wird die Polyurethangelbildung in Gegenwart von Alkoholen behindert. - Wegen der Bedeutung von Wirkstoffen mit kontrollierter Freisetzung wäre ein System mit kontrollierter Freisetzung, welches nicht mit einigen der Mängel des Systems im Stand der Technik behaftet ist, ein wesentlicher Vorteil. Diese Anmeldung offenbart ein solches System.
- Ein erstes Ziel der vorliegenden Erfindung ist ein Artikel, welcher eine elastomere Matrix und mindestens einen in der Matrix enthaltenen biologisch oder nicht-biologisch aktiven Wirkstoff umfasst, wobei der Wirkstoff aus der Matrix in die Umwelt im Wesentlichen kontinuierlich über einen längeren Zeitraum freigesetzt wird und die Matrix durch ein Verfahren gebildet wird, welches das Umsetzen eines Carboxyl-terminierten Polymers, das entweder aus hydrophoben oder hydrophilen Carboxyl-terminierten Polymeren gewählt ist, mit einem Polycarbodiimid, umfasst, insbesondere mit
- a) dem hydrophoben Carboxyl-terminierten Polymer, welches eine Hauptkomponente umfasst, gewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Carboxyl-terminiertem Polybutadien, Carboxyl-terminiertem Polyisopren, Carboxyl-terminierten Copolymeren von Butadien mit Acrylnitril, Carboxyl-terminierten Copolymeren von Butadien mit Styrol, Carboxyl-terminierten Copolymeren von Isopren mit Acrylnitril, Carboxyl-terminierten Copolymeren von Isopren mit Styrol und Mischungen der oben Genannten, wobei das Carbonsäure-terminierte Polymer ein durchschnittliches Molekulargewicht im Bereich von 1000 bis 20 000 aufweist;
- b) dem hydrophilen Carboxyl-terminierten Polymer, welches eine Hauptkomponente umfasst, gewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Carboxyl-terminierten Polyethylenoxiden, Carboxyl-terminierten Polyetherpolyolen, welche Copolymere von Ethylenoxid und von einem Alkylenoxid mit 3–6 Kohlenstoffatomen sind, in einer Menge von nicht mehr als 50 Molprozent des Copolymers und mit einem Molekulargewicht von 400 bis 20 000;
- c) dem Polycarbodiimid, das gewählt ist aus der Gruppe bestehend aus den aromatischen, cycloaliphatischen, aliphatischen und heterocyclischen Carbodiimiden und Mischungen von zwei oder mehreren der oben Genannten, und das Polycarbodiimid eine mittlere Funktionalität von höher als oder gleich 2 aufweist.
- Das Carbodiimid/Carbonsäure-Molverhältnis von Polycarbodiimid und von Carboxyl-terminiertem Polymer liegt vorzugsweise im Bereich von 0,7 bis 6,0, insbesondere im Fall eines hydrophilen Carboxyl-terminierten Polymers gemäß b). Insbesondere kann dieser Bereich 0,7 bis 1,4 betragen, insbesondere wenn der Artikel kein Artikel auf Wasserbasis ist, was bedeutet, wenn die elastomere Matrix nicht auf einem hydrophilen Carboxyl-terminierten Polymer, sondern vielmehr auf einem hydrophoben gemäß a) basiert.
- Der Artikel gemäß der Erfindung umfasst eine elastomere Matrix und, in dem Matrixmaterial enthalten, einen oder mehrere Wirkstoffe, welche in die Umgebung im Wesentlichen über einen längeren Zeitraum freigesetzt werden sollen. Das Elastomer wird durch ein Verfahren gebildet, welches das Umsetzen von Polysäure mit Carbodiimiden umfasst. Die Polysäure oder das Carboxyl-terminierte Polymer gemäß a) oder b) umfasst eine Hauptkomponente und gegebenenfalls eine Nebenkomponente. Die Hauptkomponente macht typischerweise mindenstens 90 Gew.-% der Polysäure aus und wird gewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Carboxyl-terminierten Verbindungen, wie Polybutadien, Polyisopren, Copolymeren von Butadien mit Acrylnitril, Copolymeren von Butadien mit Styrol, Copolymeren von Isopren mit Acrylnitril, Copolymeren von Isopren mit Styrol und Mischungen von zwei oder mehreren der oben Genannten. Die optimale Nebenkompo nente wird gewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Carboxyl-terminierten Verbindungen, wie Adipinsäure, Azelainsäure, Isophthalsäure und Dimerfettsäure. Die Polysäure hat ein durchschnittliches Molekulargewicht im Bereich von 400–20 000. Das bevorzugte hydrophobe Carboxyl-terminierte Polymer wird gewählt aus einem Carboxyl-terminierten Polybutadien mit einem Molekulargewicht von 1000 bis 10 000 oder einem Carboxyl-terminierten Polyisopren mit einem Molekulargewicht von 1000 bis 10 000 und einer durchschnittlichen Carbonsäurefunktionalität im Bereich von 1,8 bis 8,0.
- Zusätzlich zu den hydrophoben Polymeren mit Säurefunktionalität kann hydrophiles Polymer mit Carbonsäurefunktionalität ebenfalls verwendet werden. Diese sollen mit wasserlöslichen oder -dispergierbaren Bestandteilen kompatibel sein, und das resultierende System ist umweltverträglicher. Die hydrophilen Polysäuren bestehen aus Carboxyl-terminierten Polymeren, wie Carboxyl-terminierten Polyethylenoxiden und Carboxyl-terminierten Polyetherpolyolen, welche ein Copolymer von Ethylenoxid und einem Alkylenoxid mit 3–6 Kohlenstoffatomen in einer Menge von nicht mehr als 50 Molprozent Alkylenoxid in C3-C6 in dem Copolymer mit einem Molekulargewicht von 400 bis 20 000 sind.
- Das Polycarbodiimid wird gewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus aromatischen, cycloaliphatischen, aliphatischen und heterocyclischen Carbodiimiden und Mischungen von zwei oder mehreren der oben Genannten. Die verwendeten Polycarbodiimide werden vorzugsweise durch Unterwerfen von polyfunktionellen, vorzugsweise bifunktionellen, aliphatischen, araliphatischen oder insbesondere aromatischen Isocyanaten einer Carbodiimid-Bildung hergestellt. Monofunktionelle oder trifunktionelle und höher funktionelle Isocyanate können als Kettenterminatoren oder Verzweigungsmittel für die Polycarbodiimide verwendet werden, obwohl sie in Mengen von weniger als etwa 20 Gew.-% und vorzugsweise in Mengen von weniger als etwa 10 Gew.-% der Gesamtmenge von Isocyanat verwendet werden sollten.
- Die folgenden Isocyanate können zum Beispiel für den erforderlichen Zweck verwendet werden: Alkylisocyanate, wie Methyl-, Allyl-, Butyl-, Stearylisocyanat; Alkyldiisocyanate, wie Ethylendiisocyanat, Tetramethylendiisocyanat; Hexamethylendiisocyanat, Isophorondiisocyanat, aromatische monofunktionelle und bifunktionelle Isocyanate, wie Phenylisocyanat, Phenylendiisocyanat, die isomeren Toluoldiisocyanate, Diphenylmethandiisocyanate, Dimethyldiphenylmethandiisocyanate und Biphenylmethandiisocyanatmischungen der handelsüblichen Güteklasse, welche gegebenenfalls ebenfalls polynukleare Diisocyanate oder trifunktionelle Isocyanate enthalten können.
- Bevorzugte Isocyanate sind Hexamethylendiisocyanat, Isophorondiisocyanat, die Toluoldiisocyanate und Diphenylmethandiisocyanate. Die Isomere von Toluoldiisocyanat sind von besonderem Interesse.
- Die Matrix kann gegebenenfalls Komponenten umfassen, die nicht an der Vernetzungsreaktion zwischen Polysäure und Carbodiimid beteiligt sind. Unter solchen "nicht-reaktiven" Komponenten sind umfasst: Füllstoffe, Weichmacher, Stabilisatoren, Pigmente und Fungizide. In der Matrix ist das Material enthalten, das kontrollierbar in die Umgebung freigesetzt werden soll, das unter dem Sammelbegriff Wirkstoff zusammengefasst ist.
- Der Wirkstoff kann im Wesentlichen jede biologisch oder nicht-biologische aktive Verbindung sein, die mit dem Matrixmaterial kompatibel ist. Beispielhafte Klassen von möglichen Wirkstoffverbindungen sind die aliphatischen oder aromatischen Öle, Ester, Ketone, Ether, halogenierten aromatischen Verbindungen, Alkohole und organometallische Verbindungen. Duftstoffe sind in diesen Mitteln umfasst. Pheromone können eine weitere Klasse von Wirkstoffen gemäß der Erfindung sein. Die Wirkstoffe gemäß der Erfindung liegen in einer Menge von etwa 10 bis 90 Gewichts-%, bezogen auf das Gesamtgewicht des Polymers und des Vernetzungsmittels, vor.
- In bevorzugten Ausführungsformen wird der Wirkstoff in der Matrix gelöst, wobei der Freisetzungsmechanismus die Diffusion von Wirkstoff vom Innern der Probe an die Freisetzungsoberfläche umfasst. Das Mittel kann auch dispergiert in der Matrix vorliegen.
- Die erfindungsgemäße Kombination (Matrix plus Wirkstoff) kann zu einer Vielzahl von Formen, auf Wunsch kombiniert mit angemessenen Einschlussmitteln zur Bildung eines Artikels, vorzugsweise in der Form eines Gels, gebildet werden, welche in einer verwandten Vorrichtung umfasst sein können, die eine biologische oder nicht-biologische Wirkung mit zeitlicher Verzögerung, z. B. insektizide, fungizide, desodorierende, molluskidale, antikorrosive, antistatische Wirkung oder antiseptische Wirkungen vorsehen.
- Das in der vorliegenden Erfindung verwendete Polycarbodiimid ist eine Verbindung, die mindestens 2 Carbodiimidgruppen, vorzugsweise mindestens 3 Carbodiimidgruppen in einem Molekül, aufweist. Der Ausdruck "Poly" des "Polycarbodiimids" bedeutet eine vielfache Zahl der Carbodiimidgruppen (multifunktionales Carbodiimid) und bedeutet nicht die Höhe des Molekulargewichts. Das Molekulargewicht des Polycarbodiimids ist nicht begrenzt, liegt aber vorzugsweise im Bereich von 250 bis 10 000. Alle Angaben zu Molekulargewichten hierin beziehen sich auf zahlenmittlere Molekulargewichte. Das Polycarbodiimid ist im Fachbereich bekannt und wird vorzugsweise durch Polykondensation eines organischen Polyisocyanats in Gegenwart eines Carbodiimid-Beschleunigungsmittels hergestellt. Das organische Polyisocyanat ist im Fachbereich in der Polyurethan-Industrie bekannt, darin eingeschlossen ein aromatisches Polyisocyanat, wie 2,4- oder 2,6-Toluoldiisocyanat, Naphthalin-1,5-diisocyanat und Diphenylmethan-4,4'-diisocyanat; und ein aliphatisches oder alicyclisches Polyisocyanat, wie Hexamethylendiisocyanat, hydriertes Diphenylmethan-4,4'-diisocyanat, Isophorondiisocyanat, hydriertes 2,4- oder 2,6-Toluoldiisocyanat.
- Das Carbodiimid-Beschleunigungsmittel kann jedes im Fachbereich bekannte Mittel sein und ist typischerweise in Chemical Review von Andrew Williams, Ibrahim T. Ibrahim, Bd. 81, Nr. 4, S. 619 (1981), beschrieben. Unter diesen sind 1-Phenyl-phosphoren-1-oxid, 1-Phenyl-3-methyl-phosphoren-1-oxid und 1-Ethyl-phosphoren-1-oxid bevorzugt.
- Bei der Herstellung des Polycarbodiimids kann das Molekulargewicht durch Beenden der Polykondensation mit einem organischen Monoisocyanat reguliert werden (siehe J. Appl. Polym. Sci. von L. N. Alberine, Bd. 21, S. 1999 (1977)). Beispiele für die organischen Monoisocyanate sind Phenylisocyanat, Toluolisocyanat, Cyclohexylisocyanat, Butylisocyanat und dergleichen. Eine Blockungstechnik, bei welcher eine terminale Isocyanatgruppe mit einer aktiven Wasserstoff enthaltenden Verbindung (einem Blockungsmittel) geblockt wird, kann auch das Molekulargewicht des Polycarbodiimids regulieren. Das Blockungsmittel ist ausführlich zum Beispiel in Progress in Organic Coatings (Fortschritt bei organischen Beschichtungen) Bd. 3, S. 73 (1975), beschrieben. Typische Beispiele der Blockungsmittel sind Alkohole, Phenole, Lactame, N-Hydroxyimid, Oxime, Imidazole, Triazole, aktive Methylenverbindungen (z. B. Acetylaceton und Diethylmalonat), aromatische sekundäre Amine, saures Natriumsulfit und dergleichen.
- Das Carboxyl-terminierte Polybutadien wird durch Umsetzen von Krasol LBH 2000, 3000, hydriertem OH-terminiertem Polybutadien und Poly bd R45HTL0, alle kommerziell vertrieben von Sartomer, mit einer stöchio metrischen Menge an HHMPA (4-Methylhexahydrophthalsäureanhydrid) zur Erzeugung der Carboxyl-terminierten Polybutadiene NTX6162, 6163, 6852 bzw. PRO 6340-Produkte (von Sartomer) erhalten.

- 1. In einen 1000-ml-Harzkessel, ausgestattet mit einem Überkopfrührer, einem Heizmantel, Einlass und Auslass von Stickstoff, einem Thermopaar und einem Kondensatorkühler, wurden Krasol LBH 2000-Harz oder andere Hydroxyl-terminierte Polybutadienharze ge füllt. Das Harz wurde unter Rühren unter Stickstoff auf 90°C erwärmt.
- 2. Krasol-Harz wurde getrocknet und 1,5 h bei 90°C im Vakuum bei < 1333 Pa entgast.
- 3. In den Kessel wurde HHMPA unter Rühren bei 90°C gegeben.
- 4. Die Reaktion wurde unter Rühren unter Stickstoff während 5 h auf 105°C gehalten.

- Das Carboxyl-terminierte Polybutadien NTX6163 wurde in Gegenwart eines Weichmachers, z. B. Dibutylphthalat (Tabelle 5, Formulierung 1) vernetzt. Die Zugabe von OH-haltigen Additiven schien keine Auswirkung auf das Härten zu haben (Tabelle 5, Formulierungen 2–4). Desgleichen wurde das Carboxyl-terminierte Polybutadien auf Basis von Poly bd R45HTLO-Harz in Gegenwart von Duftstoff oder Weichmacher vernetzt (Tabelle 6). Das Lösungsmittel in handelsüblichem Ucarlink wurde entfernt und hatte keine signifikante Auswirkung auf die Gelierzeit (Tabelle 6), jedoch eliminierte der Extraschritt den Lösungsmittelgeruch für bestimmte Anwendungen. - 1. PEG oder Polyol wurde im Vakuum bei <1333 Pa bei 95°C 2 h. lang getrocknet und entgast.

- Die Wassermischbarkeit des mit einer Säure versehenen Polyethylenglykols hängt von der Struktur des verwendeten Kappenbildungsmittels und dem Molekulargewicht von PEG ab. Wenn das PEG-Molekulargewicht verringert ist, muss das verwendete Kappenbildungsmittel polarer sein, um das resultierende Carboxyl-terminierte PEG (CTPEG) wasserlöslich zu machen (Tabelle 13). Claims (18)
- Artikel, umfassend eine elastomere Matrix und mindestens einen in der Matrix enthaltenen biologisch oder nicht-biologisch aktiven Wirkstoff, wobei der Wirkstoff aus der Matrix in die Umgebung im Wesentlichen kontinuierlich über einen längeren Zeitraum freigesetzt wird und die Matrix durch ein Verfahren gebildet wird, in dem ein Carboxyl-terminiertes Polymer, das entweder aus hydrophoben oder hydrophilen Carboxyl-terminierten Polymeren gewählt ist, mit einem Polycarbodiimid umgesetzt wird.
- Artikel gemäß Anspruch 1, wobei a) das hydrophobe Carboxyl-terminierte Polymer eine Hauptkomponente umfasst, gewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Carboxyl-terminiertem Polybutadien, Carboxyl-terminiertem Polyisopren, Carboxyl-terminierten Copolymeren von Butadien mit Acrylnitril, Carboxyl-terminierten Copolymeren von Butadien mit Styrol, Carboxyl-terminierten Copolymeren von Isopren mit Acrylnitril, Carboxyl-terminierten Copolymeren von Isopren mit Styrol und Mischungen der oben Genannten, wobei das Carbonsäure-terminierte Polymer ein durchschnittliches Molekulargewicht im Bereich von 1 000 bis 20 000 aufweist; b) das hydrophile Carboxyl-terminierte Polymer eine Hauptkomponente umfasst, gewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Carboxyl-terminierten Polyethylenoxiden, Carboxyl-terminierten Polyetherpolyolen, welche Copolymere von Ethylenoxid und von einem Alkylenoxid mit 3–6 Kohlenstoffatomen sind, in einer Menge von nicht mehr als 50 Molprozent des Copolymers und mit einem Molekulargewicht von 400 bis 20 000; c) das Polycarbodiimid gewählt ist aus der Gruppe bestehend aus den aromatischen, cycloaliphatischen, aliphatischen und heterocyclischen Carbodiimiden und Mischungen von zwei oder mehreren der oben Genannten und das Polycarbodiimid eine mittlere Funktionalität von höher als oder gleich 2 aufweist.
- Artikel gemäß Anspruch 1 oder 2, wobei das Carbodiimid/Carbonsäure-Molverhältnis im Bereich von 0,7 bis 6,0 liegt.
- Artikel gemäß mindestens einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, wobei das Polymer hydrophil ist.
- Artikel gemäß mindestens einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, wobei das Polymer hydrophob ist und das Carbodiimid/Carbonsäure-Molverhältnis im Bereich von 0,7 bis 1,4 liegt.
- Artikel gemäß mindestens einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5, wobei die Hauptkomponente in a) oder b) für mindestens 90 Gew.-% des Polymers a) oder b) steht.
- Artikel gemäß mindestens einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 6, wobei die Matrix weiter "nichtreaktive" Komponenten umfasst, die nicht die Carbonsäure-Carbodiimid-Reaktion beeinträchtigen.
- Artikel gemäß Anspruch 7, wobei die "nicht-reaktiven" Komponenten gewählt sind aus der Gruppe umfassend: Füllstoffe, Weichmacher, Stabilisatoren, Pigmente und Fungizide.
- Artikel gemäß mindestens einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3 und 5 bis 8, wobei das Carboxyl-terminierte Polymer ein Carboxyl-terminiertes Polybutadien mit einem Molekulargewicht von 1000 bis 10 000 oder ein Carboxyl-terminiertes Polyisopren mit einem Moleku largewicht von 1000 bis 10 000 und einer durchschnittlichen Carbonsäurefunktionalität im Bereich von 1,8 bis 8,0 ist.
- Artikel gemäß mindestens einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 9, wobei der Wirkstoff in der Matrix gelöst ist.
- Artikel gemäß mindestens einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 10, wobei der Wirkstoff in der Matrix dispergiert ist.
- Artikel gemäß mindestens einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 11, wobei die Wirkstoffe in einer Menge von etwa 10 bis 90 Gew.-%, bezogen auf das Gesamtgewicht des Polymers und des Vernetzungsmittels, vorliegen.
- Artikel gemäß mindestens einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 12, wobei der Wirkstoff aus Duftstoffen gewählt ist.
- Artikel gemäß mindestens einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 12, wobei der Wirkstoff aus Pheromonen gewählt ist.
- Artikel gemäß mindestens einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 14, wobei dieser in der Form eines Gels vorliegt.
- Vorrichtung, umfassend den gemäß mindestens einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 15 definierten Artikel.
- Vorrichtung gemäß Anspruch 16, wobei dieser entweder für eine biologische oder eine nicht-biologische Wirkung geeignet ist.
- Vorrichtung gemäß Anspruch 16 oder 17, wobei die Vorrichtung für eine insektizide, fungizide, desodorierende, molluskidale, antikorrosive oder antistatische oder antiseptische Wirkung geeignet ist.
