In the shrink bobbin, especially for smooth filament yarn, having a rotationally symmetrical body which possesses a casing forming a supporting surface for the yarn and having supporting webs (5, 6) extending in the longitudinal direction between end rings (1, 2) and supported circumferentially against one another via deformable shrinkage elements (8), its deformation is dependent on the residual shrinkage of the material to be processed and builds up flexibly to maximum shrinkage. The yarn package is thus not deformed, and a direct processing of the wound yarn is possible. The supporting webs (5, 6) are connected directly to the end rings (1, 2).
